"Find celebrating `X` number of yrs of a film on social media repetitive, as it has become more like a yearly birthday wish rather than a milestone. But just saw #11YearsOfMyNameIsKhan and felt like saying, I think everybody involved with the film did a very fine job of it," SRK wrote.<br />

Shah Rukh Khan feels everybody did a fine job in 'My Name Is Khan'

<p>Indian-Nigerian restaurant owner Hamisha Daryani Ahuja gave up her long-running business to pursue her dream of making movies.<br />
Two years later, the 36-year-old will see her first feature film, the cross-cultural love story "Namaste Wahala", debut on Valentine`s Day on Netflix.<br />

The film, whose title translates in Hindi and Nigerian pidgin as `Hello trouble`, tells the tale of a Nigerian woman who falls in love with an Indian investment banker living in Lagos. The young couple faces a series of challenges - including their families - to be together.</p>

"What I tried to do is the `90s style Bollywood ... the singing and dancing around trees. We have all of that. It is a very cheesy, mushy romantic drama." Born of Indian parents, Daryani Ahuja has lived most of her life in Nigeria.</p>

The 110-minute film stars Indian actor Ruslaan Mumtaz and Nigerian actress Ini Dima-Okojie in the lead roles.<br />

"It is very important to make films like this when you show cross-cultural love stories, because in every country ... people just separate each other as far as religion is concerned," Mumtaz said. "Especially in India, you can`t marry somebody if they are from a different religion or from a different caste."</p>

Putting out hundreds of movies and television episodes a month, Nollywood is the world`s second most prolific film industry after India`s Bollywood.<br />
Nigeria has a growing base of Bollywood fans, who watch its sitcoms subtitled in English, and "Namaste Wahala" is creating a buzz online.<br />
Daryani Ahuja says she hopes to make a sequel in the coming months.</p>

The film, whose title translates in Hindi and Nigerian pidgin as `Hello trouble`, tells the tale of a Nigerian woman who falls in love with an Indian investment banker living in Lagos. The young couple faces a series of challenges - including their families - to be together. "I wanted to do something that will be more relatable so it is a full-on Nollywood movie, but I brought in some Indian actors to make it a little bit more fun," Daryani Ahuja, who directed, executive, produced and acted in the movie, told Reuters. "What I tried to do is the `90s style Bollywood ... the singing and dancing around trees. We have all of that. It is a very cheesy, mushy romantic drama." Born of Indian parents, Daryani Ahuja has lived most of her life in Nigeria. "It is very important to make films like this when you show cross-cultural love stories, because in every country ... people just separate each other as far as religion is concerned," Mumtaz said. "Especially in India, you can`t marry somebody if they are from a different religion or from a different caste." Production was completed before lockdowns made making movies difficult; the original release date was April. Putting out hundreds of movies and television episodes a month, Nollywood is the world`s second most prolific film industry after India`s Bollywood. Or [snored through?] many of the revered gems showcased in the film festivals, raved about by people, most of whom are totally clueless about why exactly they are feeling so viagrised on seeing unfamiliar, grim, esoteric and metaphysical content exploring the human condition. Its hysterically funny checking out their response when asked about their opinion, post the screening ... A confusing, bewildered, ashened smile!</p>

<p>The answer to this million-buck question lies in the fact there are three kinds of audiences that hit this territory. &nbsp;</p>

<p>One, a minority who genuinely wants to see, enjoy or be initiated into this alternate space and believes that with time, patience &amp; discussions will get the true meaning of these gems &amp; begin to connect with them.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Two, people who are curious &amp; open about this genre and want to check out these soul-uplifting masterpieces raved about by their arty friends.</p>

Ordinary people who can’t be accused of sensibilities or interests beyond the entertaining blockbusters, but suddenly crazily anxious not to be perceived as someone who is frivolous or views movies as time-pass BUT as sensitive connoisseurs who look at Cinema as an agent of change, truth 24 times a second, artistic exploration of linear truths that reside in the human soul. &nbsp;</p>

<p>This – they believe – will give them a special aura, status and will allow them to enter the charmed circle where their book-jacket-inspired comments &amp; coffee-table wit will be applauded by the like-minded frat!</p>

<p>To each his own, but the problem with this attitude is the hi-decibel inflicting and imposing of opinion on the unguarded &amp; un-interested guy’s throat with aggressive force! &nbsp;The 'My way or the highway' thing, frequently followed by the [yawn!] gyaan of how masala films have ruined the taste buds of the nation, how compulsory film education must be kicked in ASAP blah, blah, blah.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While the intent may be admirable, it is this fierce, non-negotiable thrust that demands enquiry. The lack of tolerance, the condescending look and tone of the wild-eyed art-wallah at anyone who stoops to sample anything beyond the gems could get a weak-kneed bloke to start writing his will, or seriously considering which exact spot is ideal to leap from his 16th floor balcony.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Fact is, taste for the more refined and the desire to want to be challenged [not spoon-fed or catered to] depends mostly on the environment in which one has grown up and influences that have shaped &amp; formed one’s sensibilities.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sometimes, it is also acquired through the company one keeps and at other times [very rare, though] – it is instinctive. These are factors to be considered before flaunting cultural superiority because the recipients are creatures of a lesser god. &nbsp;</p>

<p>They are therefore unable to connect with complex or thought-provoking content that demands solid participation while viewing a film. &nbsp;To the everyday audience, movies still spell entertainment, a blessed out escapist trip to the never-never-land-of-happy-ever-after!&nbsp;</p>

<p>Their instant retort is: Why should I pay and think? It’s your job to think how best you can entertain me and you better get it right, or else ...! Fly me to the moon and let me play among the stars ...</p>

<p>Ultimately, it really boils down to live and let live. Forget the obsession of playing Masterji &amp; evangelist and trying to convert every non-art house soul to a disciple. Most will either ponder how you’ve been actually certified sane, vanish from sight every time you enter their frame or wonder what terrible things one did in one’s last life to suffer these OMG moments.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It also reflects poorly on these self-styled brand ambassadors of this genre because it shows them off as uncivilized people, pompous and self-righteous, the definitive, argumentative Indian who must prove his point, come what may. It doesn’t strike them that beyond bad manners, the lesser mortals are not obliged to listen, do cartwheels or go down on bended knees with gratitude for these pearls of wisdom. Labelled Mr. Bak-Bak and boring, they are likely to head their drop-dead list of creatures the world should quickly forget!</p>

<p>At a personal level, the two amazing exponents of the inclusive, pluralistic, accommodating and reach-out school have been my late dad-in-law, Mr. Chidananda Das Gupta &amp; filmmaker Shyam Benegal. Both were curious, interested, attentive and listened intently to your raves about Bollywood films, eager to pick up any new insights they may have missed. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Das Gupta, while not really into the mainstream commercial, was always enthusiastic and eager to remain updated about trends in masala land &amp; I remember how excited he was, years ago, when I explained to him the Angry Young Man phenomenon gripping Bollywood &amp; the masses. Benegal was of course completely in tune with the times and so, whether it was Kieslowski or the Khans, his takes were always engaging &amp; fascinatingly insightful. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Neither of these eminent personalities ever offered gyaan or flung hard-to-pronounce names of world cinema with affected flourish. &nbsp;Nor were they humouring or indulging you. They simply and interestingly decoded the best of the alternate cinema &amp; suggested – along with the masala stuff – checking out some of their material. &nbsp;It was always done in a warm, friendly and seductively un-threatening manner &amp; always with a good word for the commercial cinema because they genuinely saw lots of good things in many Bollywood films.</p>

<p>In a world filled with Guru-giri or posturing, it is hugely gratifying to follow the itinerary of sane, imaginative and cultured minds, showcasing civilised discourse, drawing readers &amp; people into a space where even the most complex film-makers &amp; films become intimate companions. &nbsp;Theirs is the art of de-mystifying cinema without making confusion, more confounded! &nbsp;Clearly there is a lesson somewhere for both, the learned Gurus of Cinema or the one’s posturing as devotees of Cahier Du Cinema ... will they pay heed?</p>

<p>After months of closure due to coronavirus, Bollywood Parks Dubai was reopened on January 21 with nine new rides that include Bollywood Skyflyer.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We used the time to create and build a brand-new area in the park that we call the Mela Zone, which is home to the majority of the nine new rides at Bollywood Parks Dubai," D'Souza added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Bollywood Parks Dubai is one of the three themed parks of Dubai Parks and Resorts, which in 2019 attracted 2.6 million visitors.&nbsp;</p>

<p>D'Souza hopes that the park's revamp will entice more visitors to travel to Dubai as it continues to emerge as a hot destination for tourism.&nbsp;<br />

Provisions for hand sanitisation should be made available at all entry points and in work areas.<br />

Designated queue markers shall be made available for entry and exit of the audience from the auditorium and the premises.<br />
The exit should be done in a staggered row-wise manner to avoid crowding.<br />
<br />
Sufficient time interval between successive screenings on a single screen as well as on various screens in a multiplex shall be provided to ensure row-wise staggered entry and exit of the audience.<br />
<br />
Proper crowd management in the parking lots and outside the premises -- duly following physical distancing -- norms shall be ensured.<br />
The number of people in the elevators shall be restricted, duly maintaining physical distancing norms.<br />
<br />
Efforts shall be made to avoid overcrowding in the common areas, lobbies and washrooms during the intermission. The audience&nbsp;may be encouraged to avoid movement during the intermission. Longer intermissions may be used to allow the audience seated in different rows of the auditorium to move.</p>

Provisions for hand sanitisation should be made available at all entry points and in work areas. Designated queue markers shall be made available for entry and exit of the audience from the auditorium and the premises. The exit should be done in a staggered row-wise manner to avoid crowding. Sufficient time interval between successive screenings on a single screen as well as on various screens in a multiplex shall be provided to ensure row-wise staggered entry and exit of the audience. Proper crowd management in the parking lots and outside the premises -- duly following physical distancing -- norms shall be ensured. The number of people in the elevators shall be restricted, duly maintaining physical distancing norms. Efforts shall be made to avoid overcrowding in the common areas, lobbies and washrooms during the intermission. The audience may be encouraged to avoid movement during the intermission. Longer intermissions may be used to allow the audience seated in different rows of the auditorium to move.

<p>More than 6 months after his shocking death, there are still several unanswered questions surrounding Sushant Singh Rajput's death. The Central Bureau Of Investigation on Wednesday has said that the case is not yet closed and that they still looking into all aspects.&nbsp;<br />
The CBI took over the case nearly 145 days ago and has since then questioned several people related to the actor.<br />

Earlier in October, a team of doctors from Delhi's AIIMS had stated in a report submitted to CBI that the actor's death was a case of suicide and no foul play was involved. The report had dismissed the theories of poisoning and strangling floated by the actor's family and their lawyer.</p>

<p>A few days back BJP MP Subramanian Swamy had written to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) asking about the status of the investigation, after which the PMO sent the letter to the CBI.</p>

<p>In its reply, the CBI said that it "is conducting investigation in a thorough and professional manner using latest scientific techniques. During the investigation, all aspects are being looked at and no aspect has been ruled out as on date."</p>

<p>"During investigation, advanced mobile forensic equipment including latest software have been used for extraction and analysis of relevant data available in the digital devices and also for analysis of dump data of the relevant cell tower locations related to the case," the CBI further said.</p>

<p>"During investigation, all the witnesses have been examined to understand the circumstances and apprehensions raised by the complainant and his family members and other independent sources. Intensive and thorough investigation has been carried out in this regard," the CBI said.</p>

<p>"The investigation team along with senior officers visited all places of concern - Aligarh, Faridabad, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Manesar and Patna," CBI added.</p>

<p>The 34-year-old actor was found dead on June 14 in his apartment in Mumbai. An initial probe by the Mumbai Police, based on the autopsy, called it a suicide but his family alleged that he was murdered. A nationwide campaign called #JusticeForSSR ensued soon after with many of his fans and family members demanding a CBI probe into the case.&nbsp;</p>

In an interview with IANS, the "Dil diyan gallan" singer opened up about the sexual abuse she faced as a child. She revealed that she was molested at the age of 10 during her visit to Haridwar.<br />

"I was 10 years old. I was in Haridwar, one of the religious places in India. My mother was standing a few feet away from me. Suddenly, a guy came and poked his finger inside my a**. I was shocked. I just ran away. Then, a few years later, a man grabbed my breasts in a hall. I clearly remember these incidents. I used to think that it`s my fault. Now, people have come on social media and have started abusing others -- mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually -- there. I consider it faceless terrorism," Neha said.<br />

Speaking of cyberbullying, Neha recalled receiving death threats online from fans of a popular K-pop band.<br />
<br />
"It all started when I had shared my point of view in support of another singer. I did not pass any demeaning remarks for the K-pop band. I only had said that I am not a big fan of that particular band and since then I have been trolled. From rape threats to death threats, I have witnessed it all. I don`t keep quiet now. I even filed a police complaint," she added.<br />

With two hours and plus of running time, ‘Chhalaang’ that means taking a leap when loosely translated in English does just that with the help of Hansal Mehta’s direction, engaging script and serious effort by the cast.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Featuring Rajkummar Rao as Montu (aka Mahinder Hooda), Nushrat Bharucha as Neelima and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub as I.M. Singh, the film is not a generic love triangle but one that teaches you to move past hurdles that you think limit you. The three play teachers in a school based in Haryana, Rajkummar and Zeeshan as PTI teachers and Neelima as one who teaches computer science. Montu is a laidback local guy whose father gets him a job that he is not passionate towards, makes extra money helping the principal of the school with her personal work (played by Ila Arun) and is friends with senior teacher Shukla played by Saurabh Shukla. He goes to school, goes about his mundane schedule and chills with Shukla every evening at the terrace of their house with some booze.</p>

<p>The Narcotics Control Bureau raided Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal's home on Monday morning. The raid was conducted under the NCB's ongoing investigation of drug abuse in the Indian film industry. According to a report in DNA, the raid was conducted at 7am on Monday in three places in Mumbai which include Rampal's residence and office.&nbsp;<br />

Earlier last week, the NCB had arrested South African national Agisialos Demetriades in relation to another drugs case. Agisialos is Arjun Rampal's girlfriend, designer Gabriella Demetriades' brother. Former Dharma Productions employee Kshitij Prasad was also arrested in the same case. Both Agisialos and Prasad were reportedly in touch with a Nigerian national arrested for the supply of cocaine in Mumbai.<br />

According to media reports, the NCB had seized banned drugs and hashish from Agisilaos'residence. It has been alleged that he was also in touch with other peddlers related to the case.&nbsp;<br />

On Saturday, the NCB also arrested Shabana Saeed, Bollywood producer Feroz Nadiadwala's wife in relation to the same case. Nadiadwala too has been summoned to appear at NCB office for questioning.<br />

The case is the same under which actress Rhea Chakraborty along with her brother Showik was arrested. Rhea is currently out on bail. The investigation on the drugs case began parallelly after Sushant Singh Rajput's case was handed to the CBI. Rajput was found dead at his apartment on June 14, 2020.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The comedy deals with India’s obsession with fair skin as the title of the film suggests. Set in the backdrop of Haryana, the film takes us through the story of a dusky girl tamed by prejudices and biases held by the Indian society against dark skin.&nbsp;</p>

<p>‘Unfair &amp; Lovely’ will be marking the directorial debut of Balwinder Singh Janjua who served as a screenplay writer of ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ and ‘Mubarakan’.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The film is written by Balwinder Singh Janjua, Rupinder Chahal and Anil Rodhan, the music will be composed by Amit Trivedi and lyrics will be penned by Irshad Kamil.</p>

<p>Balwinder Singh Janjua, Director, says, “I am overwhelmed and would like to thank Sony Pictures Films India for trusting my vision and giving me this opportunity. Unfair and Lovely is a rooted story based on our everyday life observations that reflect a reality of today’s world in a hilarious manner and it gives me great pleasure to begin my directorial venture with this film.”</p>

<p>On the film, Ileana previously said, “Essaying ‘Lovely’ is definitely going to be a very different and a unique experience for me and many people across all demographics would be able to relate to this character. What I love about the film is that its narrative isn’t preachy; it’s a funny story that will leave viewers smiling and laughing. The team at Sony Pictures Films India and Balwinder Singh Janjuahave made sure this subject is treated with a lot of sensitivity however keeping it as humorous as possible.”</p>
