<p>"Firstly, a little bit disappointing. Think we bowled a fielded really well. Credit to Pakistan, they batted well in the end. Felt the total was par, we felt we were in the game when we were on 120," he said.</p>

<p>Bas de Leede was the standout performer once again for the Netherlands as Edwards reflected on the same and said his star all-rounder just needed another partner.</p>

<p>"Bas de Leede is fantastic in all three departments of the game. Just needed someone to go with him. Haven’t spoken to van Beek, we’ll assess that and see where it goes. Probably one that got away, we were in a pretty good position. They just took a few wickets in the middle there," skipper added.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam was a relieved man as he applauded Mohammed Rizwan (68) and Saud Shakeel (68) for the partnership that helped his side recover from the initial turbulence.</p>

<p>Batting first, Pakistan lost three quick wickets as the Dutch side seized the initiative. However, Pakistan recalibrated their plans from thereon and managed to put a decent 287-run target.</p>

<p>"We lost three wickets, the way Rizwan and Saud batted put pressure on the Netherlands. Saud built his innings and played well. He has improved a lot," said Babar, crediting his bowlers as well for the comeback.</p>

<p>"I tried to be positive and score runs for the team. Nerves were there, we lost three wickets but I was fortunate enough to get early boundaries. We knew the pressure would go back to them if we got a start."</p>

<p>Pakistan came into the World Cup with a jittery form and thus a win to start off the campaign, albeit shaky, would give the team some belief going ahead.</p>

<p>Netherlands shocked Pakistan in the second game of the ODI World Cup 2023 as they claimed three early wickets in Hyderabad on October 6 after electing to field first. The Men in Green, however, dug deep afterwards with a partnership of 120 runs for the fourth wicket between Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The partnership was broken by Aryan Dutt in the 29th over when he sent back Saud Shakeel for a personal score of 68 and the team total of 158. Dutchman Bas de Leede then took wickets in the same over - a brilliant bowled to dismiss Rizwan (68) and getting Iftikhar Ahmed (9) out caught behind. The twin strikes undid all the work done by Rizwan and Shakeel, leaving Pak six down for less than 200 and 18 overs to go. Have a look at the wicket here:</p>

<p>With Sri Lanka already qualifying for the 2023 World Cup, this clash between Scotland and the Netherlands was a virtual knockout. The Netherlands, who had defeated former two-time World Cup winners West Indies during the ongoing Qualifiers in a game dubbed by many as the greatest ever, and with that ended their hopes of playing yet another 50-over World Cup, was up against the favourites Scotland, who was the lone team to beat all Test playing nations so far.</p>

<p>Asked to bat first after losing the toss, Scotland lost opener Matthew Cross inside the first over. Brandon McMullen entered the scene and made this inning all about him. Though wickets kept tumbling at the other end, McMullen stood his ground and stitched a stunning 137-run stand for the fourth wicket with the captain Richie Berrington. In the meantime, McMullen completed his well-deserve hundred, getting out on 106 from 110 balls.</p>

<p>Berrington’s 64 and Tomas Mackintosh’s 38 saw Scotland post a challenging 277 for nine in 50 overs. For the Netherlands, their star all-rounder Bas de Leede was the highest wicket-taker, picking up five for 52.</p>

<p>The Netherlands began their chase positively with the man in form, Vikramjit Singh scoring 40 up front. Following the fall of first three wickets, the Netherlands looked like falling shy of the target. However, the man of the moment for them, all-rounder Bas de Leede took the onus on himself and bailed his team out of trouble.</p>

<p>With healthy contributions from the middle-order, including centurion Teja Nidamanuru and captain and keeper Scott Edwards, Bas de Leede completed his hundred, scoring 123 off 92 balls, hitting seven fours and five sixes.</p>

<p>A 32-ball 33 from Saqib Zulfiqar in the end sealed the fate for the Netherlands, who now have qualified ahead of Zimbabwe, Ireland and West Indies for the 2023 World Cup in India.</p>

The Netherlands, who had defeated former two-time World Cup winners West Indies during the ongoing Qualifiers in a game dubbed by many as the greatest ever, and with that ended their hopes of playing yet another 50-over World Cup, was up against the favourites Scotland, who was the lone team to beat all Test playing nations so far. Asked to bat first after losing the toss, Scotland lost opener Matthew Cross inside the first over. Brandon McMullen entered the scene and made this inning all about him. Though wickets kept tumbling at the other end, McMullen stood his ground and stitched a stunning 137-run stand for the fourth wicket with the captain Richie Berrington. In the meantime, McMullen completed his well-deserve hundred, getting out on 106 from 110 balls. For the Netherlands, their star all-rounder Bas de Leede was the highest wicket-taker, picking up five for 52. The Netherlands began their chase positively with the man in form, Vikramjit Singh scoring 40 up front. Following the fall of first three wickets, the Netherlands looked like falling shy of the target. However, the man of the moment for them, all-rounder Bas de Leede took the onus on himself and bailed his team out of trouble. With healthy contributions from the middle-order, including centurion Teja Nidamanuru and captain and keeper Scott Edwards, Bas de Leede completed his hundred, scoring 123 off 92 balls, hitting seven fours and five sixes. A 32-ball 33 from Saqib Zulfiqar in the end sealed the fate for the Netherlands, who now have qualified ahead of Zimbabwe, Ireland and West Indies for the 2023 World Cup in India.
