<p>Achakzai said “special targeted operations, air strikes, border closure with Afghanistan, return of Afghan refugees, anti-TTP&nbsp;political opposition gathering in Islamabad” must be considered.</p>

<p>“Last, offer US drone bases to target [Al Qaeda] and other militants sanctuaries in Afghanistan,” he wrote in the now-deleted post on X.</p>

<p>The US drone bases in Pakistan have remained a controversial topic for a long time. Washington has routinely used these bases to eliminate targets in Afghanistan. Former al-Qaida chief Ayman al-Zawahiri, sitting in Kabul was also killed in July 2022 by the US drone strikes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Shamsi airbase in Balochistan is one of the most well-known bases that the US utilised&nbsp;to target non-state actors. However, after a NATO strike in 2011 in Salala which claimed the lives of two dozen Pakistani soldiers, the US was asked to vacate the base.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The suggestion by&nbsp;Achakzai comes in the backdrop of Pakistan Army chief&nbsp;General Asim Munir's visit to Washington. Munir is attempting to convince US security officials that the rise of&nbsp;Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Islamic State's Khorasan offshoot (IS-K) pose a significant threat not only to Islamabad but to the US as well.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to a brief statement released by the Pentagon, Munir met&nbsp;Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on Wednesday and discussed "recent regional security developments and potential areas for bilateral defence cooperation".&nbsp;</p>

Last year, the militant outfit announced it was calling off a ceasefire agreed upon with the Pakistani government. <p>On Tuesday, at least 23 Pakistani soldiers were killed while dozens were injured after a&nbsp;&nbsp;vehicle containing explosives rammed into a building in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, near the Afghan border.</p>

<p>The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Pakistan later released a detailed statement, which said a counter-operation led by the army resulted in the death of 27 terrorists.</p>

<p>"An intelligence-based operation was conducted in general area Darazinda on the reported presence of terrorists. During the conduct of operation, terrorists' hideout was busted and seventeen terrorists were sent to hell," the ISPR said.</p>

<p>It was not until later on Friday that DG Khan Commissioner’s spokesperson Mazhar Sheerani released a statement confirming that an explosion had taken place and was heard across the city, adding that the “concerned departments have presented an initial report after investigation.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>Similarly, DG Khan Commissioner Nasir Mehmood, said that the noise was likely caused by the “breakage of sound barrier”, adding that such incidents were “normal”.</p>

<p>The blast took place when people had gathered for Friday prayers.</p>

<p>Geo TV has reported that 12 people, who were trapped under the debris of the collapsed mosque, have been rescued while 30 to 40 people are feared to be still trapped.</p>

<p>District Police Officer Nisar Ahmed told WION that the suicide bombers carried out the first blast at the gate of police station in Doaba while the second one took place inside the mosque.</p>

<p>This is the second terror incident in Pakistan in a single day. Earlier in the day, at least 52 people including a police officer were killed in a blast near mosque in Pakistan's Balochistan province, more than 130 people have been injured.</p>

<p>The terror attacks have taken place on the day of Eid Milad-un Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad.</p>

<p>Azam Khan, the caretaker chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has reportedly directed officials to enforce emergency in all hospitals in the city of Hangu. He has also sought report on the incident from officials.</p>

Geo TV has reported that 12 people, who were trapped under the debris of the collapsed mosque, have been rescued while 30 to 40 people are feared to be still trapped. District Police Officer Nisar Ahmed told WION that the suicide bombers carried out the first blast at the gate of police station in Doaba while the second one took place inside the mosque. This is the second terror incident in Pakistan in a single day. <p>An explosion in Balochistan’s Mastung district on Thursday (September 14), wounded at least 11 people, including Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Hafiz Hamdullah, as per local media reports.</p>

<p>Mastung Assistant Commissioner Attaul Muneem said that so far, 11 people were injured in the blast, further adding that the wounded were taken to a hospital in Quetta for medical treatment, according to Pakistani news outlet Dawn.</p>

<p>JUI-F spokesperson Aslam Ghauri, while talking to Geo News, said that Hamdullah had sustained injuries in the incident but was in a stable condition.</p>

<p>“He is okay. He is injured but the situation is not critical […] The gunmen and the others accompanying him also sustained minor injuries but they are okay. There is no serious issue at the moment.”</p>

<p>“We still do not know if it was a suicide blast or a planted bomb,” he added. “According to the information I have received, Hamdullah sahib and two persons are injured. All are okay and the matter is not serious.”</p>

JUI-F leader Hafiz Hamdullah, 10 others injured in explosion at Mastung, Balochistan

<p>At least six footballers in Pakistan have been kidnapped by some unidentified people on Saturday (September 9) in the southwestern province of Balochistan.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Local officials said that the players were on their way to Sibi from Dera Bugti district when they were abducted. The officials have identified five of the six players as Aamir Bugti, Faisal Bugti, Sohail Bugti, Yasar Bugti and Sheraz Bugti.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As quoted by DAWN newspaper, Dera Bugti's deputy commissioner said: "The players were residents of Dera Bugti and Sui. They were going to Sibi to take part in the qualifying round of the All Pakistan Chief Minister Gold Cup football tournament."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Miscreants had planted a remote explosive device to target a vehicle carrying Balgatar UC Chairman Ishtiaq Yaqoob and others who were returning from a wedding ceremony," the Dawn quoted Amjad Somro, deputy commissioner of Panjgur, as saying.</p>

<p>He said that as the vehicle reached Chakar Bazar in the Balgatar area, the explosive device detonated resulting in the death of the seven people.</p>

<p>Quadri requested Modi and the BJP government to take a stand in favour of Balochistan at the UN recognising the importance of this moment.</p>

<p>"Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government have an opportunity today to rise in support of Balochistan at the UN, which they may not have tomorrow," Quadri said Friday, reported PTI news agency.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Her Friday remarks seeking India's support came after she performed a puja at the VIP ghat of the Ganga in Uttarakhand, praying for her cause.</p>

<p>Quadri highlighted that Balochistan, which was once an independent country, is currently under the illegal occupation of Pakistan.&nbsp;</p>

<p>She expressed concern over the exploitation of Balochistan's rich mineral resources and the numerous atrocities being inflicted upon its people.&nbsp;</p>
