<p>Healy's 170-run knock is the highest individual score by a male or a female batter in a World Cup final. The Aussie opener broke the record held by former Australian wicket-keeper batter Adam Gilchrist, who had slammed 149 runs in the 2007 ODI World Cup final against Sri Lanka.</p>

<p>Meg Lanning played a brilliant knock of 97 while opener Alyssa Healy laid the foundation for Australian victory with a quick 72.</p>

<p>The other Aussie opener Rachael Haynes contributed with a crucial 43 while Beth Mooney and Ellyse Perry played innings of 30* and 28 respectively.</p>

<p>Chasing 278, Alyssa Healy set the tone from the get-go, smashing five boundaries in the first five overs to get Australia off to a flying start.</p>

<p>"It's an amazing honour and I'm a little bit shocked, given how many amazing performances there have been across the year," said Perry, who also won the inaugural Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Award in 2017 for the&nbsp;ICC&nbsp;Women's Cricketer of the Year.</p>

<p>In October, Healy scored a world record 148 unbeaten off 61 balls against Sri Lanka – the highest score by a woman in T20Is. She reached her fifty off 25 balls and her maiden century off 46 to register the fastest ton ever by an Australian man or woman.</p>

<p>Ranked No.1 in both the 50-over and T20 formats, Australia will be favourites to retain their&nbsp;Women's T20 World Cup crown on home soil next year.</p>
