According to Labour Ministry, the pension system reforms would yield almost $19.18 billion in annual pension contributions.

Lubomir Strougal, who served as the&nbsp;prime&nbsp;minister&nbsp;of communist-ruled Czechoslovakia in 1970-1988, has died aged 98, the Czech news site Seznam Zpravy said on Monday.

A mother and her seven children aged two to 14 were reported dead on Monday&nbsp;in France after a massive house fire broke out while they were sleeping, the rescue officials on the site said. The children included five girls and two boys. Julien Morino Ros, a local prosecutor told AFP that the mother and her children died from 'asphyxiation.'&nbsp;

The incident occurred around midnight in&nbsp;Charly-sur-Marne. Ros added that the fire origin appeared to be a malfunctioning clothes dryer on the ground floor of the house.&nbsp;

According to the firefighters, the house's electric window shutters were blocked due to a power outage, which hampered the rescue operation.&nbsp;

This fire blaze is by far the&nbsp;deadliest&nbsp;in the country in a decade. A similar tragic incident erupted&nbsp;in 2013 when five children between two and nine also died due to asphyxiation in an accidental fire in northern France.&nbsp;

The World Health Organization on Monday called for “immediate and concerted action” towards contaminated medicines after&nbsp;children's deaths linked to cough syrups last year. The organisation said, “These contaminants are toxic chemicals used as industrial solvents and antifreeze agents that can be fatal even taken in small amounts, and should never be found in medicines.”

WHO said&nbsp;that in 2022, over 300 children under the age of five died of acute kidney injuries, associated with contaminated medicines in Uzbekistan, Indonesia and Gambia.&nbsp;

Consumer Reports have appealed to four chocolate brands to commit by valentine's day to reduce lead and cadmium amounts from their dark chocolate products after conducting a series of tests.

In a letter addressed to Hershey's, Mondelez International, Theo Chocolate and Trader's Joe, Consumer Reports said long-term exposure to the metals might cause harm, including damage to the nervous system, kidneys, and immune system suppression, among other health complications.

These products can pose a great danger to pregnant women's and young children's well-being, especially due to the risk of developmental problems. The letters, accompanied by 55,000 petition signatures, aim to pressure chocolate manufacturers.

Consumer Reports from last month said that 23 of the 28 dark chocolate bars it tested contained dangerous amounts of lead, cadmium, or both, which could be dangerous, especially for those with more than one ounce of chocolate daily.

Consumer Reports remain concerned about the effect of the addition of such harmful substances. While Hershey's, Mondelez, Godiva and Lindt did not respond to a Reuters request for comments, they have all been sued previously over those findings.

But a trade group, the National Confectioners Association, said the recommendations, which Consumer Reports followed and thought were "the most protective available," are "not food safety requirements" and that chocolates are still safe to eat.

Just days after causing havoc in Port Phillip Bay in Australia on Friday last week, an elephant seal reappeared on a Mornington Peninsula beach. A regional operations manager with Victoria’s Conservation Regulator, Gleen Sharp said that he helped coax the massive seal away from danger last week.&nbsp;

He said, “I was handed an oar, and was trying to get it back to the beach and into the water.”

It was a “large, large animal.” He said that despite being 500 kg the animal was pretty quick, Guardian reported.&nbsp;

A lifeguard named Luke Shepardson, who is more dedicated to saving lives than winning any international surfing contest, this time bagged the first prize in Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational in Hawaii. The competition is held only when the waves at Waimea Bay consistently reach 30 feet or bigger.&nbsp;

Shepardson, 27, participated in the contest after he took special permission from his boss to take time out from his day to compete.

He scored 89.1 points out of 90 to claim the title and won $10,000 as prize money.&nbsp;

Tesla CEO Elon Musk reappeared in San Francisco federal courtroom on Monday as the trial over his 2018 tweets continues. The billionaire has been accused of defrauding investors and costing them millions of dollars with a pair of allegedly false tweets about having the funding secured to take Tesla private.

During the trial, Musk told jurors he was sure he had locked up “financial support" from Saudi investors.&nbsp;“So essentially I took that to mean it was a done deal," Musk said. But when confronted with exchanges, the investors demanded more details before committing to his buyout plan, to which Musk said that the fund was “backpedalling,” AFP reported.

He testified that he understood the fund would do whatever it took to take Tesla private and had plenty of wealth&nbsp;to do it.

Referring to SpaceX, Musk told the jury with SpaceX’s stock alone, he felt funding was secured for the buyout. He added that he eventually chose not to take Tesla private due to a lack of support from the investors.&nbsp;

A lawyer of plaintiffs argued that Musk’s buyout figure at $420 is a popular rallying code for marijuana, which Musk uses.&nbsp;

The billionaire said, “420 was not chosen because of a joke; it was chosen because there was a 20 percent premium over the stock price.”&nbsp;

He added that there was “some karma around 420” which he questions whether it is good or bad.&nbsp;

As his lawyer took over the questioning, Musk said, “I’m being acused of fraud; it’s outrageous.”

The testimony is set to conclude on Tuesday.&nbsp;
