The Russian government has no information on the whereabouts of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. India since 2014 had requested Moscow many times seeking information on the nationalist leader.

In a statement in the Parliament, minister of state in the ministry of external affairs V Muraleedharan said, "Russian government has conveyed that they were unable to find any documents in the Russian archives pertaining to Netaji and even after additional investigations made based on a request from the Indian side, they could not find any documents giving more information on the subject."

New Delhi sought to know if Netaji was in Russia anytime before or after August 1945 or whether Netaji escaped to Russia in August 1945.

After his fallout with Congress and jail by British authorities for the campaign of civil disobedience, Bose left in the country in 1941 to seek the support of Nazi Germany to overthrow the British regime in India.

During this period, he also made a stopover in Soviet Russia and hoped for support to which he received lukewarm support. Reports also suggest that after the fall of Japan in World War-II, he had again hoped to get Russian support.

Subhas Chandra Bose's played a key role in the revival of Indian National Army(INA) and his slogans "give me blood and I will give you freedom" and "Dilli Chalo" are still popular and part of his legacy.

India was represented by Indian envoy to United Nations Syed Akbaruddin at the NAM Ministerial Meeting in Caracas, Venezuela.

Climate change, digital technologies and terrorism are three issues raised by India at NAM Meet in Venezuela.

On terror, Akbaruddin said, "All our talk about combating the scourge of terrorism has not been matched by actions" and "our collective response at countering terrorism must transcend from ad hoc and crisis-orientated reaction towards" building "standing structures intended to be durable and insulated from rhetoric."

Reiterating India's stand on Palestine, Akbaruddin said New Delhi's "Support for the cause of Palestine shall continue". This is an important statement given the growing closeness of New Delhi with Israel.

The Afghan intelligence agency National Directorate of Security (NDS) said that the Kandahar terror attack was plotted from Chaman in Pakistan. Chaman is the second-largest city of Pakistan's northwest Balochistan province and borders Afghanistan's Kandahar province.

NDS said it will be releasing entire gamut of details regarding the attack tomorrow.

Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack on the police headquarters on Thursday that killed 12.

This is not for the first time Afghanistan has said that an attack in the south Asian country had links across the border in Pakistan. According to NDS, The 2017 Kabul terror attack near the German embassy that killed 150 people, the worst in Afghanistan, was planned in Pakistan.

The development comes ahead of the Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's Washington visit to meet US President Donald Trump.

Ahead of the visit, 26/11 mastermind, Hafiz Saeed was arrested on terror financing charges after "pressure" from Washington.

The increased terror attacks come even has the Afghan peace process gathers pace. India on Thursday said, "any process should respect the constitutional legacy and political mandate" and "should not lead to any ungoverned spaces where terrorist and their proxies can relocate."

Both New Delhi and Kabul have blamed Islamabad for destabilizing the region and providing sanctuaries to a terrorist on its territory, something which Pakistan has denied despite being provided evidence.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has rejected Afghanistan accusations. Pakistan's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Dr Md Faisal said, "Pakistan rejects baseless accusations concerning recent terrorist incidents in Afghanistan."

Adding further Dr FAisal said," The public blame-game is contrary to the spirit of the understanding between the leadership of the two countries to address issues through close coordination amongst relevant agencies."

"Condemning all acts of terrorism in Afghanistan" Faisal hoped that "both sides would continue working constructively for durable peace in Afghanistan and the region."

An influential Beijing back Think Tank, China Tibetology Research Centre (CTRC) has said India- China ties would be impacted if New Delhi doesn't recognise the next China appointed Dalai Lama.

Zha Luo, Professor CTRC said, "If Indian government refuse to recognise (next china appointed Dalai Lama) it would be a major political difference that would impact Sino-Indian ties."

Adding further Luo said, "This extreme circumstance may not happen as both China and India are large developing countries and we have shared interest.. and reincarnation of Dalai Lama is important for China, so any friendly country or friends of china would not interfere or meddle."

The current 14th Dalai Lama had fled Tibet after it was invaded by China in 1950s. After him, the Tibetian government in exile will announce the next Dalai Lama but China will also announce its own Dalai Lama using a process of drawing a lot from a golden urn.

"The bottom line, that China wants India to do during the reincarnation process of Dalai Lama, India should respect China's rights to deal with its domestic, political, economic, social, religious affairs, that is the bottom line, mutual respect," said Xiao Jie Assitant fellow in institute of commentary studies of CTRC.

Xiao Jie said, "To choose next Dalai Lama inside China will be more satisfactory to religious feeling."

He explained China government's position saying Tibet government in exile is not a legal religious body but only seeks political independence of Tibet from China and won't be allowed to participate in "reincarnation" process of next Dalai Lama.

Another scholar at the China-backed Think Tank, Liang Junyan who is a Researcher in the institute of historical study reiterating China's stand on Mc Mohan line said, "The British interfered in Tibet... and asked China to sign an illegal treaty."

Mc Mohan line defines the border between India's Arunachal Pradesh and China's Tibet with Beijing not recognising it since according to it Arunachal Pradesh is south Tibet. It was signed between British negotiator Henry McMahon and Tibetian representative in 1914 in Shimla.

China to not recognise personal moves of 14th Dalai Lama on his successor: Wang Neng Shang to WION

In a first-ever development, Indian waterways are being used to transport cargo between Bhutan and Bangladesh.

Around 1000 metric tons of stones from Bhutan are being transported to Bangladesh using the Brahmaputra by ship MV AAI which set sail from Dhubri in Assam on Friday. The Inland Waterways Authority of India’s (IWAI)'s ship will reach Narayanganj in Bangladesh with the Bhutanese cargo.

The ship was digitally flagged off by Minister of State for Shipping Mansukh Mandaviya and will use the Indo-Bangladesh Protocol Route.

Speaking on the occasion the minister said, "Transport of cargo through this route will cut short travel time by 8 to 10 days, and reduce transportation cost by 30%, bringing down logistics costs."

The stones were transported by trucks from Phuentsholing in Bhutan to Dhubri in Assam, the total distance between the both is 160 kilometres. If the same 1000 MT of stones is carried via road, 70 trucks will be needed.

At least 10 other National Waterways are under development currently. Brahmaputra river is National waterway number 2.

India is increasingly using its rivers to transport cargo which is cheaper than transport on roads.

With about 14500 kilometres of navigable waterways includes rivers, canals etc currently about 55 million tones of cargo is being moved annually by inland water transport systems.

India will be raising the issues related to providing facilities for pilgrims which includes allowing a large number of pilgrims access to the Kartarpur gurudwara through the corridor in the upcoming India-Pakistan officials meet in Wagah, Pakistan.

India had proposed 5000 pilgrims per day which Pakistan is not keen on saying it can allow only 700 people on designated days with a permit.

This is the second meet of the officials that will take place, the first happened in March on the Indian side of the Wagah Attari border. Three rounds of technical meetings have already taken place between both sides.

India has also asked Islamabad to build a bridge on its side that will provide safe movement of pilgrims but also address the issue regarding flooding. New Delhi is concerned about possible flooding of Dera Baba Nanak due to the construction of an embankment filled road on the Pakistan side that may cause flooding on the Indian side. This issue has been raised by New Delhi in the three technical meetings.

India is currently engaged in building a bridge on its side to provide for all weather connectivity for the Kartarpur corridor.

Work on the Indian side of the corridor is going on a fast pace with India building a passenger terminal building which is expected to be completed by 31 October 2019 and a four-lane highway connecting zero points at India-Pakistan border of the corridor with national highway 354.

The deadline for completion of the highway is September 30 2019, and as of now, 45% of work has been completed.

Even as the closure of Pakistan airspace impacts millions of passengers across the world, India has reacted saying its a unilateral decision by Islamabad to close their airspace and up to them to remove any restrictions.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs Raveesh Kumar said, "The decision to open their airspace has to be taken by them... This is a decision we haven't imposed on Pakistan, this is they have taken, they have to remove restrictions, ball in their court, not ours."

Asked about its cost of closure of Pak airspace, Kumar said, "You are talking about the cost to us, I hope you are aware of the cost to Pakistan."

Its been more than 4 months since Pakistan closed its airspace for any flights using Indian airspace.

Pakistan had closed its airspace in February after it launched an attack on Indian military installation in response to Indian strikes on Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camps in Balakot on 26th February.

The united nations listed Pakistan based terror group was responsible for the February 14 Pulwama terror attack that killed more than 40 Indian security personnel.

The closure is impacting many Afghans who travelled to India on a regular basis but now have to pay more to travel. The time taken has also significantly increased from just one and a half hour to more than 3 hours now.

Afghanistan has raised the matter with Islamabad many times, but the country has not changed its position.

Its also impacting Indian students in central Asian countries like Kyrgyzstan due to non-availability and high cost of flights to India. Many International airlines have cancelled flights to India due to the closure of Pakistan airspace.

The closure of Pakistan airspace has caused a loss of $100 million to Pakistan.

Various Pakistani civil aviation authorities are losing overflight charges, parking and landing charges etc to the tune of $600,000. In fact, the number of direct flights to Pakistan has also been cancelled and its state-run national airlines PIA-Pakistan International Airlines, which is already under tremendous pressure, is facing more loss of revenue due to the closure of airspace.
