However, New York federal district attorney Cyrus Vance opened last year an investigation into Trump's payments in 2016 to allegedly buy the silence of two women who claimed to have had affairs with him.

Court documents have suggested that Vance's grand jury probe has now expanded to possible banking and insurance fraud.

Marrero suggested that Trump's most recent arguments were simply an effort to delay the proceedings, potentially running out the clock on time limits for prosecutions, and risking the loss of witnesses.

Still, the ruling was not likely to force the release of Trump's records before the November presidential election.

Trump can appeal the ruling, a process that could easily be stretched out over the next three months.

At the White House, the president said the case is a "fishing expedition" and claimed that the Supreme Court said he did not have to comply in that case.

The United Nations has been accused of racism by its own staff.&nbsp;

It began with an internal survey that the international body conducted recently. It was a part of UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres's mission to stamp out racism and promote dignity which was called the "United Nations survey on racism" and was sent to thousands of UN employees across the world.&nbsp;

The first question of the survey left the UN staff appalled as it asked them to answer how they identify themselves, that is the racial identity they represent. A lot of options were provided namely black, brown, white, mixed, multi-racial but there was one tick box that stood out - "yellow".

The United Nations asked its employees if they identified themselves as "yellow", a word that has many connotations but when it comes to racial identity it is considered a racial slur. It comes at par with the many insulting terms that are used to describe Asians.

UN employees were outraged. They asked how a body which sings praises of its diversity can even use such a slur in its own survey that too in the very first question. For now, the United Nations has taken the survey down but no apologies have been offered.

A lot of options were provided namely black, brown, white, mixed, multi-racial but there was one tick box that stood out - "yellow". The United Nations asked its employees if they identified themselves as "yellow", a word that has many connotations but when it comes to racial identity it is considered a racial slur. It comes at par with the many insulting terms that are used to describe Asians. UN employees were outraged. They asked how a body which sings praises of its diversity can even use such a slur in its own survey that too in the very first question. For now, the United Nations has taken the survey down but no apologies have been offered.

India's ministry of external affairs said today that the eighteenth meeting of India-China Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) was held earlier on Thursday.&nbsp;

"The two sides had a candid and in-depth exchange of views on the existing situation in border areas," MEA spokesman Anurag Srivastava said.

India and China reaffirmed that in "accordance with the agreements reached between the two foreign ministers and the two special representatives, the two sides will continue to sincerely work towards complete disengagement along the LAC."

The two sides also acknowledged the need to maintain close communication through both "diplomatic and military channels". The MEA added that the two sides have agreed to resolve "outstanding issues expeditiously".&nbsp;

India and China relations have gone downhill since the clash at Galwan Valley on June 15 in which 20 Indian soldiers were killed in action, although the Chinese side has suffered casualties as well, however, China's foreign ministry has refused to divulge the casualties.

Both sides have engaged in a series of diplomatic and military talks since the clash at Galwan in an attempt to calm the situation on the ground as disengagement of troops at Galwan began in earnest.

However, reports said that China has augmented surveillance in the central sector of the Indian Army and has upgraded its surveillance system in Uttrakahand.&nbsp;

US Federal authorities on Thursday arrested former Trump adviser Steve Bannon along with three others on fraud charges.

Reports said they were involved in an online fundraising campaign to raise money to build the border wall in a crowdfunding campaign called "We Build the Wall" which reportedly collected $25 million from donors.

Bannon had served as White House strategist and was the architect behind President Donald Trump's 2016 election victory. The US-Mexico border wall was one of the key campaign issues of Trump during the US elections.

Prosecutors said Bannon received more than $1 million of that money through a nonprofit organization. Three others who were charged were Brian Kolfage, Andrew Badolato and Timothy Shea.

Prosecutors alleged that Kolfage received thousands of dollars from the campaign that he used to fund a lavish lifestyle.

Kolfage is due to appear in federal court later on Thursday in Florida, while Bannon is set to appear in federal court in Manhattan.
