Chia Seeds Vs Sabja Seeds: Which Are More Beneficial For Health?

Many people think that there is no difference between chia and sabja seeds because they have similar appearance. However, they are different in their nutritional content and even in their weight loss abilities. Here are the benefits of chia and sabja seeds:

Physicists such as Max Planck, Niels Bohr, Werner Hisenberg and Erwin Schrodinger developed the theory of quantum mechanics. It describes how matter and energy behave at the smallest scales, which explains many phenomena like superconductivity and chemical bonding.

The chia seeds are filled with antioxidants which prevent the damages caused to the body due to free radicals. Chia seeds are also rich in protein.

Sabja seeds are beneficial for gut health. They are filled with pectin which delays the stomach-emptying process and enhances the hormone level.

Although both seeds have the same nutritional content and give satiety, there is evidence proving that eating chia seeds can help lose weight.

A Catholic priest made a bizarre comment about Jesus Christ but somehow managed to save his job.

The 53-year-old reverend, during the sermon, explained that the death of Jesus Christ is likely to have occurred because of an erection which may have been triggered by the violent execution method subjected to him.

He allegedly said that when Christ was hung on the crucifix, blood would have rushed to his lower body and led to the erection.

The criminal election interference case against former US president Donald Trump has been stayed for months till an appellate panel decides if the district attorney in Fulton County needs to be disqualified from prosecuting the case with a conflict of interest.

The court, in a one-page order, said that any movement at the trial-court level related to Trump and eight other defendants who have filed a plea against the ruling which permitted prosecutor Fani T Willis to stay on the case was “stayed pending the outcome of these appeals.”

The former president's lawyers have repeatedly asked for the removal of Willis from the case while arguing that she is allegedly involved in a romantic relationship with another prosecutor.

Trump, along with 18 others, is facing prosecution in Georgia for conspiring to overturn the state's 2020 election results. The trial was almost upended after one of the co-defendants said that Willis' romantic relationship with lead prosecutor Nathan Wade was benefitting her improperly.

After some tense days in court in February, Willis finally accepted her relationship with Wade but denied getting any benefits.

Judge Scott McAfee finally found in March that Willis had a "serious lapse in judgment" and that the case suffered damage because of the relationship, with the "appearance of impropriety".

Thousands of ultranationalist Israelis participated in the annual march in Jerusalem’s Old City on Wednesday (June 5) amid chants of “Death to Arabs.”

Jerusalem, the epicentre of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, has remained calm during the Israel-Hamas war. However, the march appeared to have the capacity to further fan tensions and again set off something similar to an 11-day war in Gaza.

The people gathered outside the Damascus Gate, which is a central gathering place for Palestinians living in east Jerusalem, raised anti-Arab and anti-Islamic slogans and waved Israeli flags as the procession started.

A small scuffle broke out between the marchers and the police just before the procession began. Some people also threw plastic bottles at a journalist who was wearing a vest which had the word PRESS imprinted on it.

Some Israelis were seen shouting “Muhammad is dead!” as they referred to the Islamic prophet. The marchers were also heard chanting “May your village burn".

Nearly 18 suspects were arrested by the police on charges of violent offences after clashes broke out during the march.

Speaking to the crowd, ultranationalist National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said that the Jerusalem Day celebration this year is sending the message that “Jerusalem is ours".

“Damascus Gate is ours. The Temple Mount is ours, and, God willing, complete victory is ours,” he added.

The Jerusalem Day Flag March is carried out annually and marks Israel’s capture of East Jerusalem which included the Old City as well as its holy sites sacred to Jews, Christians and Muslims during the 1967 Mideast war.

Israel claims all of Jerusalem to be its capital, however, east Jerusalem's annexation is not internationally recognised. The Palestinians have been hoping to make East Jerusalem the capital of a future state and feel that such a march is a provocation.

In the last few years, Palestinians have been forcibly cleared by the police from the parade route and large crowds of youth have chanted “Death to Arabs,” “May your village burn” and other offensive slogans.

The march took place at a time when tensions over Gaza were high amid the Israel-Hamas war. The war started with an October 7 attack launched by Hamas into southern Israel in which some 1,200 people were killed by militants and around 250 hostages were abducted.

For the first time since 1946, a dim star - which is 3,000 light-years from our solar system - will be visible in the night sky among other constellations and one will be able to see it with naked eyes.

The "Blaze Star", which is officially known as T Coronae Borealis (T CrB), is likely to brighten significantly from magnitude +10 (beyond naked-eye visibility) to magnitude +2 between now and September 2024, as per NASA.

That means its brightness will be similar to Polaris, which is the North Star and is the 48th-brightest star in the night sky.

This is called the famous "arc to Arcturus" star-hop. In the east-northeast will rise the vega and when one looks between Arcturus and Vega (slightly closer to Arcturus) and tries to spot a faint curl of seven stars, one will observe Corona Borealis.

In China, young professionals have found an innovative way to destress themselves and deal with office anxiety. To soothe their mind and decrease workplace stress, the burned-out employees are now cultivating bananas right at their desks. This latest trend is whimsically called as “stop banana green” or ting zhi jiao lu in Mandarin, while in English it means “stop anxiety”. The idea was born on Xiaohongshu, which is Instagram's Chinese version. On this platform, posts related to this banana-growing hobby received more than 22,000 likes. What do the employees do in this trend? The process of growing bananas on the work desk is simple but has proved satisfying for the workers. Green bananas, which have their stems intact, are purchased by the workers and then kept in vases of water on their desks. The gradual change from green to yellow bananas has proved to be fun for many and also a kind of therapeutic distraction from their daily stress. "From lush green to golden yellow, every moment is filled with endless hope and surprises," said one enthusiast on social media. The user added, "Eat away the anxiety and let your troubles vanish." Desktop bananas - a catalyst for better workplace relationships It has been observed that growing bananas on desks has worked as a good catalyst for better workplace relationships. When colleagues share bananas it sparks conversations and builds camaraderie between them. “Desktop bananas naturally generate conversation,” said one observer. This trend has reached the e-commerce giant Taobao, which is operated by Alibaba Group. The e-commerce giant's hundreds of stores are now selling bananas only for this specific purpose. Watch: 'Five Eyes' warn China is recruiting western military trainers "Are bananas not selling well this year? I’ve seen this type of banana being advertised more than once, and they are more expensive than buying them directly," said one sceptical user on Xiaohongshu. It has been observed that this planet remained in its atmosphere even after getting mercilessly bombarded with radiation from its red giant parent star. This star is also smaller, older and hotter than what was earlier believed by scientists to be possible for such a planet.

The extrasolar planet, or "exoplanet" in reality should be a bare husk of rock because of its proximity to the star TIC 365102760 which is located approximately 1,800 light-years away from Earth.

This strange world, which has been nicknamed "Phoenix," has come out from the flames of its host star which has a nice and puffy atmosphere.

Phoenix, officially designated as TIC 365102760 b, is part of a rare class of planets known as "hot Neptunes". These are the kind of dark worlds which have radii which is smaller compared to that of Jupiter, however, larger than the Earth.

According to the scientists, the planet will spiral into its giant star for nearly 100 million years.

The discovery of Phoenix has shown that different kinds of exoplanets exist across the universe and has demonstrated that a planetary system is able to evolve in many ways.

"This planet isn't evolving the way we thought it would. It appears to have a much bigger, less dense atmosphere than we expected for these systems," said team leader and Johns Hopkins University astrophysicist Sam Grunblatt, in a statement.

"How it held on to that atmosphere despite being so close to such a large host star is the big question," he added.

Here's what this hellish planet tells us about Earth's fate

TIC 365102760 is a type of red giant star which has spent nearly 10 billion years converting hydrogen to helium present at its core.

Once the hydrogen fuel needed for the nuclear fusion process was exhausted, the energy which was supporting the star against its own gravity would have had ended.

Then the core of the star would have collapsed while its outer layers, where nuclear fusion is still taking place, should have swelled to around 100 times the star's original width.

"It's the smallest planet we've ever found around one of these red giants and probably the lowest mass planet orbiting a [red] giant star we've ever seen," said Grunblatt.

"That's why it looks really weird. We don't know why it still has an atmosphere when other 'hot Neptunes' that are much smaller and much denser seem to be losing their atmospheres in much less extreme environments," he added.

The findings of Phoenix have helped scientists understand what will happen to the atmosphere of Earth before it meets its final fate.

"We don't understand the late-stage evolution of planetary systems very well. This is telling us that maybe Earth's atmosphere won't evolve exactly how we thought it would," Grunblatt said.

Senate Republicans on Wednesday (June 5) voted to block a bill which was placed on the table by Democrats to ensure guaranteed access to contraception bills across the US, bringing the controversial issue into sharp focus ahead of November’s presidential elections.

The bill, the Right to Contraception Act, was envisioned to be enshrined into federal law which will give individuals a right to buy and use contraceptives as well as allow health care providers to provide them.

The bill, if it were made into law, will be applicable to birth control pills, condoms, the plan B pill, and other forms of contraception.

However, the legislation was not passed in a procedural vote, with the final tally at 51 to 39. The effort was dismissed by most Republicans as a political messaging vote which is unnecessary and overly broad.

GOP Senators Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski crossed over to vote as Democrats remained in favour of moving ahead with the bill. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer voted a no at the last minute.

In his remarks after the bill did not pass, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said, "Today was not a show vote. This was a 'show us who you are' vote. And Senate Republicans showed the American people exactly who they are."

"The Right to Contraception Act simply says, if you want to access birth control or if you're a healthcare provider wanting to prescribe birth control, the government has no right to interfere. Doesn't that seem like common sense?" Schumer said.

Republicans called the legislation a political ploy by Democrats and opposed it because they found it containing overly broad language which can be interpreted as including some abortion-related medications.

Texas Republican Sen. John Cornyn said, "It's not a serious attempt to legislate, this is just a show vote in anticipation of the election."

In a stunning discovery, seven new rogue planets were identified by the Euclid space telescope which shed light on the mysteries of such dark, starless worlds which are freely floating in the universe.

Unlike planets which revolve around the stars, such rogue planets do not go through days or years and continue to exist in perpetual night.

Even though these rogue planets are isolated, scientists now think they are capable of hosting life. According to the researchers, trillions of rogue planets are present in the Milky Way.

In the first scientific results of the European Space Agency on Euclid's mission, it was mentioned that seven new free-floating gas giants are present in the universe, each of them being four times the mass of Jupiter.

Rogue planets with a habitable zone?

Astronomer at Queen Mary University of London Gavin Coleman, who was not among the researchers, spoke about the fascination with these rogue planets.

“We’ve all grown up with the sun in the sky, and so to think of a planet just drifting through space with no star on its horizon is fascinating,” he said.

As per the scientists, not all rogue planets are known to remain alone. Some are binary systems in which two planets orbit each other.

The rogue planets' potential habitability has significant implications in the hunt for extraterrestrial life. “Some of our closest neighbours are likely rogue planets,” said Martin.

It is believed that such planets are cold and have any life-supporting energy which comes from within rather than from a star.

There are geothermal vents on Earth which allow life to thrive in darkness. This hints at the possibility of living thriving in similar conditions on the rogue planets.

Coleman emphasised that such extreme isolation is likely to support bacterial and microbial life.

The rogue planets discovered were present in the Orion Nebula, which is the nearest star-forming region about 1,500 light-years away from Earth.

The Euclid telescope further confirmed that dozens of previously detected rogue planets were also existing.

Commenting on its discovery, Spanish astronomer Eduardo Martin said that this is likely just the “tip of the iceberg”.

Euclid spots seven new rogue planets. Here’s what is hidden in these dark worlds

In a fresh analysis of the ancient rare crystals - which were embedded in the rock present in the Australian outback - the scientists said that Earth had fresh water and dry land some four billion years ago.

This theory contradicts the earlier premise that the ocean had completely covered the planet. The chemicals present in the crystals showed that the hot and molten rocks from which they had originated had come in contact with freshwater during the formation of the crystals, as per the study published in the journal Nature Geoscience.

“By examining the age and oxygen isotopes in tiny crystals of the mineral zircon, we found unusually light isotopic signatures as far back as four billion years ago,” stated lead study author Hamed Gamaleldien, in a press release.

“Such light oxygen isotopes are typically the result of hot, fresh water altering rocks several kilometres below Earth’s surface," he added.

Gamaleldien said that they have found evidence of fresh water's presence on the dry land where water collected and slowly swept into the continental crust.

“We have two important things here. We have discovered the earliest evidence of fresh water and representative evidence for dry land above the sea,” the author said.

The research showed that the water cycle of Earth — when water travels between land, oceans and atmosphere through the process of evaporation and precipitation — was operational at that time.

Recipe for origins of life existed less than 600 million years after the formation of Earth

The authors said that the current finding reflected the presence of the origins of life on Earth nearly 600 million years after the planet's formation. This was long before the existence of the dinosaurs or the earliest known microbial life.

Gamaleldien said that the earliest evidence of life is fresh water which contains stromatolites and fossilised microbes which form mounds in hot springs almost 3.5 billion years ago.

In a statement, a senior research fellow at Curtin’s School of Earth and Planetary Science and study co-author Hugo Olierook said, “This discovery not only sheds light on Earth’s early history but also suggests … landmasses and freshwater set the stage for life to flourish within a relatively short time frame — less than 600 million years after the planet formed."

“The findings mark a significant step forward in our understanding of Earth’s early history and open doors for further exploration into the origins of life,” he said.
