All about Chirag Paswan, NDA's trump card in battle of Bihar and now a cabinet minister

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan won all five Lok Sabha seats and became a cabinet minister in Modi 3.0.

Chirag Paswan had started as a politically oblivious man and looked upon his stalwart father Ram Vilas Paswan for guidance during his initial years.

In 2020, he went to Bihar Assembly polls alone which impacted the numbers of JD (U) as the ruling party came down to 43 seats from 70 seats in 2015.

After the death of Ram Vilas Paswan, there was a split in LJP as Chirag’s uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras walked out of the party and took four of the six LJP MPs.

Even after the split and distance from the NDA, Chirag reiterated his loyalty to Narendra Modi.

PM Modi sent a touching letter to Chirag on the first death anniversary of Ram Vilas Pasawn after which he joined NDA.

Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) clinched a win on all five Lok Sabha seats in Bihar and emerged as crucial ally of BJP in NDA.

Here's how Congress reacted to Tyagi's statement On Saturday (June 8), the Congress refuted the claims made by KC Tyagi that Nitish Kumar was offered the post of the prime minister. “We don't have any such information,” said Congress general secretary KC Venugopal, at the press conference after the Congress Working Committee meeting. While addressing NDA's parliamentary meeting on Friday (June 7), Kumar proposed to name Narendra Modi as the leader of the coalition and said, "Those who have won this time will lose the next elections. I'm confident about it. They never worked for the nation. They never served the country. The country will progress under your (PM Modi) leadership." Narendra Modi takes oath as India's 16th prime minister, enters third term in a row

When Narendra Modi sat on LK Advani's chariot in 1991 during its Gujarat leg, little did the then 41-year-old RSS regional organiser know that 33 years later he would be at the helm of the consecration of the same Ram Temple which was at that time being envisioned by the Bharatiya Janta Party or BJP.

Two weeks after Ayodhya's Ram Temple consecration earlier this year, Modi - now the prime minister in his second term - delivered his reply to the president's motion of thanks in the Parliament on February 5. He announced the ambitious goal of 'chaar sau paar' or '400 plus seats for BJP that quickly resonated with the abrogation of Article 370 which had marked the beginning of his second term in 2019.

Even Kharge ji (Mallikarjun Kharge, the leader of opposition Congress) is saying it. Not only will NDA win 400+ seats, BJP itself will win 370 seats," Modi told parliament to as BJP parliamentarians thumbed their desk, cheering the end of his second term in power with an absolute majority.

Nearly a month later, Modi delivered a speech at Srinagar's Bakshi stadium - the first in Jammu & Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370.
