In a rare medical emergency, the colon of a man was placed back in his body after it came out due to a "forceful" sneeze in Florida, United States, according to a report published in the New York Post. The 63-year-old man - who hailed from Florida, United States - was enjoying breakfast with his wife at a restaurant when the bizarre incident took place. Also Read: THIS immunotherapy drug could revolutionise bowel cancer treatment The man had earlier battled prostate cancer and had undergone abdominal surgery before the incident happened. His sutures were taken out of his abdomen on the morning of his bowel "evisceration". Here's how the incident occurred The unusual case was recently published in the American Journal of Medical Case Reports. "During breakfast, the man sneezed forcefully, followed by coughing. He immediately noticed a 'wet' sensation and pain in his lower abdomen. Looking down, he observed several loops of pink bowel protruding from his recent surgical site," it said. After this, the exposed intestines were covered by the man with his shirt while his wife dialled for an ambulance. After their arrival, paramedics saw an "approximately 3-inch vertical laceration with large amounts of bowel" poking through it. The man had fortunately not lost much blood and was quickly taken to a local hospital. Pre-operative blood tests were obtained and noted to be unchanged from recent comparisons. A nasogastric tube was inserted, and the patient consented to receive an exploratory laparotomy," the paper stated. The eviscerated bowel was placed back carefully into the abdominal cavity by three surgeons, who also "inspected the full length of the small bowel and noted no evidence of injury." The three urological surgeons to ensure that the abdomen did not pop open again, closed it with a sequence of figure-of-eight stitches. The man was hospitalised for six days and placed on a normal diet before discharge. (With inputs from agencies)

In a new study, astronomers have made a stunning discovery that our galaxy, Milky Way, had recently collided with another galaxy causing an explosion.

Through time, the Milky Way has grown and has collided with other galaxies - which were torn apart and devoured by the Milky Way.

With every collision, the galaxy develops wrinkles which continue to ripple through different families of stars and affect how they move and behave in space.

The telescope is aimed at unravelling the history of our galaxy by looking into these wrinkles.

"We get wrinklier as we age, but our work reveals that the opposite is true for the Milky Way. It's a sort of cosmic Benjamin Button, getting less wrinkly over time," said Thomas Donlon, lead author of the new Gaia study, which was published in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

"By looking at how these wrinkles dissipate over time, we can trace when the Milky Way experienced its last big crash—and it turns out this happened billions of years later than we thought," he added.

In an ESA release, study co-author Heidi Jo Newberg and an astronomer at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute said, “For the wrinkles of stars to be as clear as they appear in Gaia data, they must have joined us less than three billion years ago—at least five billion years later than was previously thought."

“New wrinkles of stars form each time the stars swing back and forth through the centre of the Milky Way. If they’d joined us eight billion years ago, there would be so many wrinkles right next to each other that we would no longer see them as separate features," he added.

Donlon said that the three-billion-year-old collision likely happened between the Milky Way and a dwarf galaxy.

The strange and lesser-known world of oceans has always remained a place of mystery for scientists. Now, a newfound collection of rarely-seen and alien-looking species lurking on the seafloor, has left the scientists dumbfounded.

The marine scientists, who were researching the Clarion-Clipperton Zone of the Pacific Ocean between Mexico and Hawaii, found marine animals which were never seen before.

These creatures have been living a very different and unknown life which was covered by the permanent darkness of the abyssopelagic.

"These areas are the Earth's least explored. It's estimated that only one out of ten animal species living down here has been described by science," said marine ecologist Thomas Dahlgren of the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, as reported by Science Alert.

"This is one of the very few cases where researchers can be involved in discovering new species and ecosystems in the same way as they did in the 18th century. It's very exciting," the ecologist added.

The creatures were spotted by the scientists after a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) was sent in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone between 3,500 and 5,500 meters (11,480 and 18,045 feet) by the UK National Oceanography Centre's Seabed Mining And Resilience To EXperimental impact (SMARTEX) mission.

How the organisms are surviving on the abyssal seafloor?

Most of the organisms surviving on the abyssal seafloor depend on organic matter which rains down from the higher ocean strata for food. This phenomenon is called marine snow.

In this research, a major spectacular discovery was a transparent sea cucumber which had the nickname 'unicumber' and belonged to the family Elpidiidae.

"These sea cucumbers were some of the largest animals found on this expedition," explained Dahlgren.

"They act as ocean floor vacuum cleaners, and specialize in finding sediment that has passed through the least number of stomachs," he added.

Other creatures found were a delicate glass sponge, a cup-shaped filter feeder, a tanaid crustacean, sea stars, corals, and anemones, as well as a spectacular Barbie-pink sea pig.

The researchers explored that part of the area of the Clarion-Clipperton Zone which is used for deep-sea mining and will have a devastating impact on marine habitats.

"The lack of food causes individuals to live far apart, but the species richness in the area is surprisingly high. We see many exciting specialised adaptations among the animals in these areas," Dahlgren said.

"We need to know more about this environment to be able to protect the species living here. Today, 30 per cent of these marine areas in consideration are protected, and we need to know whether this is enough to ensure that these species aren't at risk of extinction," he added.

India's capital Delhi was declared a no-fly-zone as multi-layered security arrangements were made across the city which prepares to host Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony as the prime minister for a third consecutive term.

On Friday (June 7), the Delhi Police said that the use of sub-conventional aerial platforms - like paragliders, paramotors, hang gliders, microlight aircraft, remotely piloted aircraft, hot air balloons, small-size powered aircraft, and quadcopters along with other unmanned aerial vehicles and aircraft systems (UAVs and UAS) - remained banned in the national capital from Sunday (June 2) to Monday (June 3). The police also banned para-jumping from aircraft.

As per the order, police decided to declare a no-fly zone after receiving information that “criminals and terrorists inimical to India may pose a threat to the safety of the general public, dignitaries, and vital installations by the use of such platforms”.

Multi-layered security, high alert in the city

A multi-layered security cordon has been formed by the Special Protection Group (SPG), the National Security Guard (NSG), armed paramilitary forces and the Delhi Police near the Rashtrapati Bhavan where the swearing-in ceremony will take place.

Three-layered security will be implemented both inside and outside the premises as the president's house will remain blanketed by five companies of paramilitary personnel, NSG commandoes, drones and snipers.

A high alert has already been declared in the city and security has also been enhanced near hotels where the world leaders will stay and along the routes that the foreign dignitaries will be using.

“Around 2,500 police personnel, including five companies of paramilitary and Delhi Armed Police (DAP) jawans, have been planned to be deployed around the venue,” added the officer.

Along the routes of the dignitaries, snipers and armed police personnel will be deployed and drones will be flown at the strategic locations.

5 Things You Must Know If You Eat Fish Everyday

Individuals who have a weak immune system should exercise caution when consuming fish. Also, those who are at a higher risk of adverse health effects should avoid consuming fish regularly.

It is advised not to consume more than 8 to 12 ounces per week. Meanwhile, pregnant and breastfeeding women should limit their consumption due to mercury concerns.

Fish allergies, which are although less common, can sometimes lead to mild to severe reactions.

In the higher-fat varieties of fish like salmon, portion control is advised to effectively manage calorie intake.

One needs to also be careful about mercury exposure from the consumption of fish. Higher intake of mercury-rich fish like mackerel, swordfish and tilefish can lead to health issues in the nervous system.

7 Most Turbulent Flight Routes You Must Avoid

Those who are frequent flyers must have experienced turbulence at least once. Although facing turbulence is common in flight, at times it can turn more dangerous than thought. Here are seven locations where your flight is likely to face some severe turbulence:

The route passes the Andes Mountains which can cause significant turbulence because of varying air currents and the mountainous terrain.

Almaty, Kazakhstan to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

The route covers the Tian Shan mountain range which can lead to turbulence, especially during shifts in weather patterns.

The Tibetan Plateau and Sichuan Basin are covered in this flight route. This area has high elevation and rugged terrain which can lead to turbulence.

This route passes the Alps which is a huge mountain range in Europe. The weather systems in the region as well as the high terrains can lead to a turbulent flight experience.

The mountainous regions of Honshu and the weather patterns over the Sea of Japan influence this route.

This route covers a varied landscape which includes the Qinling Mountains and the Sichuan Basin. The weather patterns of central China and the geographical variations can create turbulence on flight.

This route crosses the Loess Plateau. The region's unique topography and air currents can lead to turbulence in the flight.
