France says Niger coup 'not final' as army chief declares support for insurrection

<p>Jagjit Singh, a dedicated flood rescue volunteer from the north Indian state of Punjab, had encountered countless lost-and-found stories in the past. However, during a mission last week, fate smiled upon him, leading to a momentous reunion with someone he had been separated from for over three decades: his mother, Harjit Kaur.</p>

<p>The heartwarming encounter took place at his maternal grandparents' house in a quaint Patiala village on July 20. Overwhelmed with emotions, Jagjit documented the touching reunion on Facebook. The long-awaited reunion brought tears of joy as mother and son embraced each other.</p>

<p>According to a report in<em> The Times of India</em>, Jagjit's life took a sad turn when he lost his father at the tender age of six months. After Harjit remarried, his paternal grandparents took him away when he was just two years old. Growing up, he was reportedly misinformed, being told that both his parents had tragically passed away in an accident.</p>

<p>However, the course of fate changed dramatically when Jagjit's aunt intervened, paving the way for the remarkable reunion with his mother.&nbsp;</p>

Pakistan's support to Taliban regime emboldens terror inside its borders: UN report

<p>Global financial payment-major Mastercard said that companies must stop individuals in the United States from buying legal marijuana using&nbsp;their debit cards.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Marijuana remains legal for medical use in 38 of the 50 states in the US. It is also legal for adults over 21 years old to buy for recreational use in 23 states, including Washington DC and the entire US West Coast. But federally, the largely recreational drug remains illegal.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Mastercard said that it implemented the move after some shops were found to be accepting debit payments while a federal ban remained in place.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"As we were made aware of this matter, we quickly investigated it. In accordance with our policies, we instructed the financial institutions that offer payment services to cannabis merchants and connect them to Mastercard to terminate the activity," Mastercard said in a statement on Wednesday.</p>

Global financial payment-major Mastercard said that companies must stop individuals in the United States from buying legal marijuana using their debit cards. Marijuana remains legal for medical use in 38 of the 50 states in the US. It is also legal for adults over 21 years old to buy for recreational use in 23 states, including Washington DC and the entire US West Coast. But federally, the largely recreational drug remains illegal. Mastercard said that it implemented the move after some shops were found to be accepting debit payments while a federal ban remained in place. "As we were made aware of this matter, we quickly investigated it. In accordance with our policies, we instructed the financial institutions that offer payment services to cannabis merchants and connect them to Mastercard to terminate the activity," Mastercard said in a statement on Wednesday. "The federal government considers cannabis sales illegal, so these purchases are not allowed on our systems," the statement continued. What does it mean? Industry insiders have decried the move as a blow to the industry. Sunburn Cannabis CEO Brady Cobb said in a statement that "this move is another blow to the state-legal cannabis industry and patients/consumers who want to access this budding category." Pot firm Verano's President, Darren Weiss, said, "We will continue to advocate for cannabis reform in Washington through further dialogue with elected officials and stakeholders to advance conversations supporting the growth of safe, legal cannabis across the US." Pakistan: Former PM Imran Khan avoids arrest in Quetta lawyer's murder case

<p>A Chinese villager from southwestern Sichuan province, who was resettled in a residential compound by the organs of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), kept his cattle on his fifth-floor balcony. A video which went viral on Chinese social media showed seven calves enjoying their meals on the residential building's balcony.</p>

<p>However, this unusual situation didn't last long, as neighbours complained to authorities about the constant mooing and foul smell emanating from the balcony. The urban management officials intervened on July 14, and&nbsp;the officials then removed the cattle from the premises, Phoenix Weekly reported.</p>

<p>The party secretary of the community, Zhang Dayou, stated that each of the calves weighed between 10 and 20 kilogrammes.</p>

<p>Since the removal, there has been an intriguing twist to the story. The property management staff and guards have been engaged in a struggle with the owner of the cows, who has been attempting to secretly bring them back into the flat.</p>

<p>South China Morning Post reported on people's reactions on Chinese social media over the bovine incident.</p>
