Prosecutors in the US have charged a far-right podcaster after guns were found in the basement of his house. The 'alt-right' podcaster has strong anti-government views. The arsenal of weapons found in his house in Pennsylvania includes machine guns. Joseph Paul Berger (32) has been charged along with his father Joseph Raymond Berger (67).

The charges include several firearms offenses including possessing machine guns and possessing non-registered guns and silencers. The prosecutors say that the guns that were obtained from Berger's home include two MP5K submachine guns, one RPK-style machine gun, eight AK-style rifles, two C308 .308 Winchester caliber rifles.

The father-son duo has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The defence lawyer claims that Berger has not incited any real-life violence and that views presented in the podcast only represented political expression.

In one of the podcast episode, Berger had said “white man with a rifle can be very dangerous to the system indeed if he has the right motivation”. The quote was cited by The Guardian taken from filing of the prosecution in the court.

While filing charges, the prosecutors have argued that Berger was a "danger to community" and if released there was a risk of him running away.

Amid heightened tensions in Europe over the Ukraine crisis, a Russian submarine passed through Turkey's Bosphorus strait on Sunday (February 13) to sail to Black Sea. Six Russian naval landing ships have already sailed through the strait to Black Sea last week.

The submarine on Sunday was a Kilo-class submarine Rosotv-on-Don.

More than 30 ships from the Russian Black Sea fleet have started training exercises near the Crimea peninsula as part of wider navy drills, RIA news agency reported citing the fleet.

The naval movements have been taking place even as more than 100,000 Russian troops remain stationed along Russia-Ukraine border. US President Joe Biden has already said that the invasion may take place on February 16.

Many countries have begun asking their diplomats in Ukraine to return home in light of the rising tensions. Russia faces immense pressure from the Western countries who have warned of sanctions as well as military action if Russia chooses to invade Ukraine.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Sanjay Agarwal, Managing Partner of Ghanshayamdas Gems &amp; Jewels, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in a bank loan fraud case that caused Rs 67 crore loss to SBI, Hyderabad.As per a press release from ED, the arrest was effected on Friday.

The accused was produced before the PMLA Special Court Hyderabad on February 11, 2022, after which he was sent to 15 days of judicial custody.

The ED had initiated the money-laundering investigation on the basis of an FIR registered by CBI, BS&amp;FB, Bangalore under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Subsequently, the CBI registered another FIR against Agarwal and others relating to fraudulently removing gold and jewellery hypothecated to Punjab National Bank (PNB) against the gold loan availed by his firm and thereby causing a loss of Rs 31.97 Crore to the PNB."

The investigation by the ED revealed that Sanjay Agarwal is the Managing Partner in Ghanshyamdas Gems and Jewels which is engaged in wholesale trading of gold.

In 2010 and 2011, he fraudulently procured gold bullion from SBI by producing fake &amp; forged bank guarantees and covering letters purportedly issued by PNB and sold the gold bullion in the local market to various jewellers and small traders in cash.

The cash so generated was diverted to several other firms floated by Sanjay Agarwal in the name of his wife, brothers and his employees," added the release.

Later, after default on the gold loan happened, SBI found that the BGs &amp; letters were forged. On August 17, 2011, Sanjay Agarwal and his brothers Ajay and Vinay clandestinely removed the entire stock of gold and jewellery kept at their store in Abids, Hyderabad.

ED arrests one for causing Rs 67-crore loss to SBI

France has eased Covid restrictions for British travellers who are fully vaccinated. These travellers will now not be required to undergo Covid tests if they want to go France.

The announcement of relaxation of Covid rules has been made by Guillaume Bazard, the French consul-general in London.&nbsp;

“As of 12 February, tests will no longer be necessary for travellers with a complete vaccination schedule traveling from the UK to France. Our website will be updated as soon as further details are published,” he said on Twitter.

There were hints of relaxation in travel rules earlier this week. France's Europe minister, Clement Beaune had suggested that requirement of Covid test for fully vaccinated British travellers would be done away with.

Before the relaxation, people travelling to France from outside the European Union, including from UK, had to present a negative Covid test taken 48 hours before. Even fully vaccinated travellers had to present such test results.

Britain has already ended testing requirement for fully vaccinated incoming travellers. The decision was taken on Friday.

French move has followed a similar easing of Covid rules by Spain. Travel rules for British passengers aged 12 to 17 have been relaxed. Presently, such teenagers who have not received vaccines jabs are allowed to travel to Spain and enter the country.

It reported 13,944 new infections on Tuesday, adding to more than 2.9 million cases recorded overall, with over 32,000 deaths, among the highest fatality and infection rates in Asia per capita.

The majority of the cases were asymptomatic or mild due Malaysia's high vaccination rate, the health ministry said on Monday.

About 98% of Malaysia's adult population has received two doses of the vaccine and more than half a booster shot. About 89% of 12-17 year olds have been vaccinated and inoculations for children age 5-11 started last week.

The headline announced by the Justice Department was the couple's alleged involvement in laundering bitcoin stolen in a 2016 hack of the virtual currency exchange Bitfinex.

But public attention was swiftly diverted when it emerged that Morgan had another life as an aspiring rap star, and had put out a video that became an internet sensation for its sheer awfulness.

Dubbed "Bitcoin Bonnie and Crypto Clyde" by financial newsletter Morning Brew, Lichtenstein, 34, and Morgan, 31, are being held without bail until a hearing on Friday.

Morgan's cringeworthy rap videos in particular were burning up the internet before being taken offline. 
On her website, Morgan calls herself "Razzlekhan" or the "Versace Bedouin" -- "the raunchy rapper with more pizzazz that Genghis Khan."

"I'm a real risk taker/pirate riding the flood/I'm a badass money maker," she raps in one video in which she refers to herself as the&nbsp;"Crocodile of Wall Street."

"Come real far but don't know where I'm headed/Blindly following rules is for fools," she says, gyrating on Wall Street wearing sunglasses, a leopard print scarf, and shiny gold jacket.

"Her art often resembles something in between an acid trip and a delightful nightmare," Morgan wrote about herself on her website, Razzlekhan.com. "Definitely not for the faint of heart or easily offended.

"Razz likes to push the limits of what people are comfortable with," she said. "Her style has often been described as 'sexy horror comedy.'"

When not making rap videos or posting pictures of her artwork or Bengal cat on Facebook, Morgan was a contributor to the financial publications Forbes and Inc.

A June 2020 article she wrote for Forbes was ironically titled: "Experts Share Tips To Protect Your Business From Cybercriminals."

Lichtenstein and Morgan allegedly sought to launder the proceeds of 119,754 bitcoin -- presently valued at $4.5 billion -- stolen in the 2016 hack of Bitfinex.

Janet Williams a family friend of Denise Cilley in Florida is going to take temporary custody of the cat, as per the news given by WABI TV.

On Wednesday (February 9), Ashes was being taken to her original home. One of Janet Williams' friends was accompanying the cat during its journey home.

French police on Thursday issued a warning saying that they would prevent 'Freedom convoys' from blockading Paris and banned the protest scheduled for February 11-14. The warning came as people protesting Covid rules began to drive towards the French capital.

"There will be a special deployment... to prevent blockages of major roads, issue tickets and arrest those who infringe on this protest ban," the Paris police force said in a statement.

Police chief Didier Lallement had ordered officers to be "firm" with infringers, it added.

The city's ban order will remain in force until Monday.

Police said that anybody blocking roads faced up to two years in prison, a fine of 4,500 euros ($5,140) and a three-year driving ban.

The authorities in neighbouring Belgium also issued warnings as participants appeared to want to continue on to Brussels, the Belgian and European Union capital, on Monday for what they called "a European convergence".

Brussels mayor Philippe Close said the city would ban the demonstrations on the simple grounds that no-one had applied for a permit for the convoys to enter.

"Measures have been taken to prevent the blockade of the Brussels region," Close wrote on Twitter.

In addition, the response centre said that 20,178 people infected with COVID-19 have been hospitalized over the past 24 hours, a 0.03% decrease from the day before.

At the same time, 97,163 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from hospitals across the country, according to the response centre.

 
Moscow logged 11,521 new COVID-19 cases and 82 deaths in the same period.

On Thursday, Reuters reported reason behind French President Emmanuel Macron having been seated at a great distance from Russian President Vladimir Putin. Two sources in Macron's entourage told Reuters that Macron was asked to take a Russian Covid test before meeting Putin in Moscow. As Macron refused, he was seated at the opposite end of a 13-foot long table.

Voting for first phase of state assembly elections in northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh took place on Thursday (February 10). Uttar Pradesh, literally meaning northern province, is the most populous state in India and has greatest political might in terms of representatives it sends to Indian parliament.

Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Yogi Adityanath is the current chief minister of Uttar Pradesh who is looking to retain power while Indian National Congress, Samajwadi Party and other opposition parties are looking to wrest control.

In first phase, 623 candidates are competing for 58 seats across 11 districts in the state. 22.8 million persons were eligible to vote across these districts.

As per the Election Commission of India`s Voter Turnout application, the total voter turnout for the first phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections was 59.87 per cent at the end of the session.&nbsp;Voting for the first phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections began at 7 am on Thursday

The districts which recorded the highest voter turnout were Shamli with 66.14 per cent, followed by Muzaffarnagar and Mathura at 65.32 per cent 62.90 per cent respectively. Other than Gautam Buddha Nagar, the districts with the lowest reported voter turnout are Ghaziabad, Meerut, Agra with 52.43 per cent, 60 per cent and 60.23 per cent respectively.&nbsp;

Additional Chief Election Officer BD Ram Tiwari said that the voting was largely peaceful.

"There were reports of a technical error in EVMs at some places. Those EVMs are being replaced," he said. He was quoted by PTI.

The second phase of polling for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly is scheduled for February 14.

586 candidates are in the fray for 55 Assembly Constituencies in the second phase. Post the completion of the seven phased elections, the counting of votes will take place on March 10.
