<p>A petition has been submitted to the Indian Supreme Court requesting a review of its decision on October 17 that failed to legally recognise same-sex marriages, leaving many LGBTQ rights activists deeply disappointed. The petition argued that the majority judgment recognised discrimination against same-sex couples but still failed to take action to end that discrimination.</p>

<p>Naz Foundation's Anjali Gopalan, who has been working with the LGBTQ community, told WION, "I don't expect the court to go back on its own judgment. That happens very rarely."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The review petition filed by Udit Sood read, "The Petitioners respectfully submit that this Court ought to review and correct its decision in... because the impugned judgment suffers from errors apparent on the face of the record and is self-contradictory and manifestly unjust."&nbsp;</p>

<p>This comes after the landmark 3-2 judgment where the apex court decided not to legalise same-sex marriage and asked the union government to form a committee to examine the rights which can be given to LGBTQ couples.</p>

<p>The review petition also argued that the court must be responsible for ensuring that people's fundamental rights are upheld.&nbsp;</p>

We (are) near the moment in which everybody understands that we need a way out," she said adding, "The problem is to find a way out which can be acceptable for both without destroying the international law."</p>

<p>According to Meloni's office, which released a statement about the call, showed regret and said that the conversation took place on September 18.&nbsp;As per the statement, the talks took place ahead of the meetings with African leaders at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).</p>

<p>The Italian PM also deplored European leaders for their stance on the migrant issue.</p>

<p>Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic dissolved parliament on Wednesday and called an early election on Dec. 17, aiming to cement his authority as he works out how to normalise ties with Kosovo, the main precondition for EU membership.</p>

<p>The parliamentary election will coincide with local votes in 65 municipalities, including the capital Belgrade.</p>

<p>Ursula von der Leyen, the EU executive's president, said during a visit to Belgrade on Tuesday that both Serbia and Kosovo must step up their efforts to normalise relations after the most recent flare-up of violence, if they want to join the bloc.</p>

<p>Serbia also needs to join Western sanctions against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine, root out corruption and organised crime, reform the economy, improve the judiciary, the business climate and its human rights record.</p>

“There were seven to eight huge holes in the ground, full of killed people, body parts all over the place,” he said.</p>

<p>“It felt like the end of the world,” the survivor reportedly added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed that the airstrike successfully targeted and killed Ibrahim Biari, a top Hamas commander, reported CNN.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, Hamas has denied that the commander was present in the refugee camp. In addition, it accused Israel of committing a "heinous crime" against innocent civilians, including children and women.</p>

<p>He said. "Children were carrying other injured children and running, with grey dust filling the air. Bodies were hanging on the rubble, many of them unrecognized. Some were bleeding, and others were burnt."</p>

<p>The chaos after the air strikes was intense as families amid the dust searched for their loved ones, especially since many children were playing in the neighbourhood at the time when the strike hit the refugee camp.</p>

<p>Ganymede is even larger than the planet Mercury. This moon, one among more than 80 moons of the planet Jupiter, has attracted scientific interest due to its vast internal ocean hidden beneath an icy crust.</p>

<p>The observation is a breakthrough for scientists as previous observations from NASA's Galileo spacecraft, the Hubble Space Telescope, and the European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope had only hinted at the presence of salts and organic compounds. At the time, the spatial resolution of those observations was insufficient to draw definitive conclusions.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Juno flies over&nbsp;Jupiter's moon,</strong>&nbsp;<strong>Ganymede</strong></h2>

<p>On June 7, 2021, the Juno spacecraft flew over Ganymede at an altitude of 650 miles.</p>

<p>The JIRAM instrument captured infrared images and spectra of the moon's surface. JIRAM, built by the Italian Space Agency, was originally designed to study Jupiter's atmosphere but has also been used to explore the surfaces of Jupiter's Galilean moons - Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto.</p>

<p>The JIRAM data collected during the flyby achieved a remarkable spatial resolution for infrared spectroscopy which exceeded 0.62 miles per pixel.</p>

<p>Using this data, Juno scientists identified and analysed unique spectral features of non-water-ice materials, including hydrated sodium chloride, ammonium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, and possibly aliphatic aldehydes.</p>

<p>Federico Tosi, a Juno co-investigator from Italy’s National Institute for Astrophysics in Rome and lead author of the paper in a statement said,&nbsp;“The presence of ammoniated salts suggests that Ganymede may have accumulated materials cold enough to condense ammonia during its formation."</p>

<p>“The carbonate salts could be remnants of carbon dioxide-rich ices," Tosi added.&nbsp;</p>
