Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian told a joint news conference with the EU's foreign policy chief in Tehran that Iran's indirect talks with the United States on reviving the 2015 nuclear pact will resume soon, as reported by Reuters.

"We are prepared to resume talks in the coming days. What is important for Iran is to fully receive the economic benefits of the 2015 accord," said Amirabdollahian, adding that he had held a "long but positive meeting" with the European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell.

Borrell made the announcement after a two-hour meeting with Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on the second day of a previously unannounced visit to the Islamic republic.

Borrell said, "We are expected to resume talks in the coming days and break the impasse. It has been three months and we need to accelerate the work. I am very happy about the decision that has been made in Tehran and Washington."

Amir-Abdollahian confirmed the resumption of the negotiations.

Amir-Abdollahian said, "We have had a long but positive conversation on global cooperation between Iran and the EU."&nbsp;

"We will try to solve the problems and differences through the negotiations that will resume soon," he added.

The Iran nuclear deal has been hanging by a thread since 2018 when then United States President Donald&nbsp;Trump unilaterally withdrew from the accord and began imposing crippling economic sanctions on America's arch-enemy.

The administration of incumbent US President Joe Biden has sought to return to the agreement, saying it would be the best path with the Islamic republic.

The talks began in April last year but stalled in March amid differences between Tehran and Washington, notably over a demand by Iran to remove its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from a US terror list.

Creating seafood alternatives was important, he said, because “frankly I haven’t found anything on the market right now that I would put on the menu”.

The video was shot by journalist Praveen Thakur of Dainik Bhaskar depicting the devastating condition of National Highway 227 that passes through the Madhubani area of Bihar. According to a Dainik Bhaskar report, this issue has been raised multiple times in the legislature, but the road has still not been repaired.

The survey by S&amp;P Global revealed that companies also scaled back their business expectations for output over the coming year to the lowest since October 2020.&nbsp;

“Economic growth is showing signs of faltering as the tailwind of pent-up demand from the pandemic is already fading, having been offset by the cost-of-living shock and slumping business and consumer confidence,” S&amp;P Global economist Chris Williamson said in a statement, as reported by Bloomberg.

Both the stagnation of demand and worsening outlook were widely blamed on the rising cost of living, tighter financial conditions and concerns over energy and supply chains linked to the Ukraine war and ongoing pandemic disruptions.

The euro retreated against the dollar on Thursday as economic data pointed to increased prospects of a recession in Europe. Global stock markets wobbled after another battering this week, while oil prices slid further.

Government bond yields also fell in another indication that investors are more worried about the prospect of a recession, removing some of the financial stings on governments from rising interest rates.

The AAI also shared pictures of robots and passengers interacting with it.

“The robots will move within the airport terminal bldg. floor and approach passengers, greet them and ask if they need any information. Through them, passengers will be able to get many airport services and navigation help to their desired locations within the airport,” it added.

The United Nations security council released a report last week saying 54 prison deaths related to malnutrition were documented in Haiti between January and April alone. It urged Haiti’s government “to take the necessary measures to find a long-lasting solution to the prison food, water and medicine crisis”.

The cell occupancy rate in Haiti stands at more than 280% of capacity, with 83% of inmates stuck in pre-trial detentions that in some cases can drag on for more than a decade before an initial court appearance, according to the United Nations.&nbsp;

Numerous inmates starve to death in Haiti prison due to overcrowding

Several teenage girls were arrested by the Iranian police for not wearing headscarves at a skateboarding day in the southern city of Shiraz, along with some of the event's organisers, state media reported Friday, as reported by AFP.

A number of girls "removed their hijab at the end of the sports event without observing the religious considerations and legal norms", state news agency IRNA quoted Shiraz police chief Faraj Shojaee as saying.

A video purporting to show Tuesday's "Go Skateboarding Day" event went viral in Iran on social media.

"With the coordination of the judiciary, a number of perpetrators and people related to this gathering were identified and arrested on Thursday," he said.

"Holding any mixed sports or non-sports gathering without observing the religious and legal norms is prohibited... and the organisers will be dealt with according to the law," Shojaee added.&nbsp;

Shiraz governor Lotfollah Sheybani said the event was "held with the intention of breaking social, religious and national rules and norms", IRNA reported.

Israel's Orthodox-controlled chief rabbinate has also refused to recognise Peretz's credentials, meaning she cannot officiate at a recognised synagogue.

Peretz told AFP that she does not see herself as an activist campaigning for rabbinical gender equality, but more of a "pioneer", and one comfortable highlighting injustices in Israel's rabbinical establishment. "There is nothing written in our religious texts that prevents a woman from marrying a couple, but it's forbidden in Israel," Peretz, a married mother of two, said in an interview at a synagogue in Jerusalem.&nbsp;

While current rules prevent her from formally leading a congregation, she said she could "be a spiritual guide, offer lessons, and answer questions from the faithful... just like any male rabbi". Peretz, a dual French-Swiss national, received her ordination from Daniel Sperber, winner of the prestigious Israel Prize for his achievements in Talmudic study and a revered rabbi who has challenged the Orthodox establishment.&nbsp;

Sperber in particularly attracted headlines in 2020 for being a rare member of the Orthodox community to speak out against "gay conversion therapy", a practice widely considered a human rights violation.&nbsp;

The town of Gayan, close to the epicentre, sustained significant damage with most of its mud-walled buildings damaged or completely collapsed, a Reuters team said. The town, with only the most basic roads, was bustling with Taliban soldiers and ambulances as a helicopter bringing in relief supplies landed nearby, whipping up huge swirls of dust. About 300 people sat on the ground waiting for supplies.

The United Nations said its World Food Programme (WFP) was sending food and logistics equipment to affected areas, with the aim of initially supporting 3,000 households. "The Afghan people are already facing an unprecedented crisis following decades of conflict, severe drought and an economic downturn," said Gordon Craig, WFP deputy country director in Afghanistan.

In a court filing late Wednesday, United States prosecutors argued that former socialite Ghislaine Maxwell should go to jail for somewhere between 30 and 55 years for helping Jeffrey Epstein sexually abuse girls, as reported by Reuters. Maxwell, 60, was convicted in December of sex trafficking minors for the late disgraced financier and is scheduled to be sentenced in Manhattan on Tuesday.

Her lawyers have argued for leniency, citing a traumatic childhood and claiming that Maxwell is being unfairly punished because Epstein escaped trial. They called for Judge Alison Nathan to hand down a sentence less than the probation department’s recommended 20 years.

But in a court filing late Wednesday, the government argued that Maxwell should go to jail for somewhere between 30 and 55 years. She has shown an "utter lack of remorse" for her crimes, wrote Damian Williams, the US attorney for the Southern District of New York.

"Instead of showing even a hint of acceptance of responsibility, the defendant makes a desperate attempt to cast blame wherever else she can," he said.

"Maxwell was an adult who made her own choices. She made the choice to sexually exploit numerous underage girls. She made the choice to conspire with Epstein for years, working as partners in crime and causing devastating harm to vulnerable victims," Williams added, as reported by Reuters.

She was found guilty on five of six sexual abuse counts and her sentence could amount to an effective life term behind bars.

Epstein killed himself in 2019 while awaiting his own sex crimes trial in New York.
