Hamilton, who has won in every season since his debut in 2007, finished second in the previous race in Mexico. He has triumphed three times in Brazil, including two of the last three races at Interlagos, and accepted honorary citizenship this week. Last year's race, like this weekend's, was run to the sprint format and&nbsp;Hamilton&nbsp;went from last on the grid on Saturday to fifth at the finish, then taking a five-place drop for Sunday's main event and roaring back from 10th to win. "It's a track that both of our drivers have typically gone well at and it's a sprint race where we can pick up more points," said Mercedes' strategy chief James Vowles. "And when you have a car within a few tenths of your competition, you can make things happen."

But the suppression order was successfully challenged by Australian media, which have now reported graphic details of the alleged assault against the unnamed woman. Court documents cited by public broadcaster ABC say the pair connected on a dating app before meeting at a popular bar near Sydney's Opera House on November 2.

They then travelled by ferry to the victim's home and after several drinks Gunathilaka allegedly forced himself on her multiple times.&nbsp;It is alleged that during one of the assaults the woman saw a condom on the floor, despite asking Gunathilaka to wear one. Sri Lanka Cricket has suspended the batsman "from all forms of the game with immediate effect".

Earlier, he was suspended with immediate effect from the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC), making him ineligible for selection from all forms of cricket.

Furthermore, Sri Lanka Cricket will take the necessary steps to promptly carry out an inquiry into the alleged offense, and, upon conclusion of the aforementioned court case in Australia, steps will be taken to penalize the said player if found guilty.

Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to emphasize that it adopts a “zero tolerance” policy for any such conduct by a player and will provide all the required support to the Australian law enforcement authorities to carry out an impartial inquiry into the incident.

The two-time Olympic gold medalist was arrested on Feb. 17, a week before Russia sent troops into Ukraine, at a Moscow airport with vape cartridges containing cannabis oil, which is banned in Russia. She was sentenced on Aug. 4 to nine years in a penal colony on charges of possessing and smuggling drugs.

Griner&nbsp;had pleaded guilty but said she had made an "honest mistake" and had not meant to break the law. Neither&nbsp;Griner's exact whereabouts nor her final destination were known, the legal team said in a statement, adding that in line with Russian procedures, her attorneys as well as the U.S. Embassy should be notified upon her arrival at her destination.

The notification would take up to two weeks to be received. The White House said U.S. President Joe Biden has directed his administration to "prevail on her Russian captors to improve her treatment and the conditions she may be forced to endure in a penal colony."
