<p>The CPC leader is regarded by many as the architect of the 'Uyghur genocide' that continues to take place in the Xinjiang province in some shape or form even today.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, prior to ruling the region with an iron fist, Chen ruled over Tibet as the CPC Committee&nbsp;Secretary from 2011 to 2016. He is the only person in CPC to have served as party secretary for both the autonomous regions.</p>

<p>As reported by WION, the Xinjiang Police Files,&nbsp;a document stolen from internment camps in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region had revealed the true extent of the campaign that Chen was undertaking.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to him, the Chinese government's campaign of repression in Xinjiang was not intended to purge the region of criminals but rather was an "extinction war" against the Uyghur people. His description of the Uyghurs as an "enemy class" had led to criticism.</p>

<p>The former official further stated that those detainees who were given sentences of less than five years should be mobilised for "learning law" and "bilingual learning," and that they should only be released once they had attained a sufficient study level, regardless of how long that took.</p>

<p>As reported by WION, Xi Jinping on multiple occasions has made it clear that Islam can only exist in China if it is reformed according to Chinese orientation. And according to the documents, Chen was merely following the line set by the likes of Xi in the upper hierarchy.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A few days after a study showed that chemical hair-straightening tools caused a rare type of cancer, a US woman has brought a lawsuit against L'Oreal, a French cosmetic giant for having contracted uterine cancer.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Reportedly, Jenny Mitchell filed a civil lawsuit saying she had been using L'Oreal's chemical hair straightening products for more than two decades which caused uterine cancer and forced her to undergo a full hysterectomy.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Under a hysterectomy, a woman's womb (uterus) is removed which means they cannot get pregnant after the operation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Ben Crump, an attorney representing Mitchell said his client sought damages from the French company, among others. Crump also added that Black women were particularly made the target of such dangerous products.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Black women have long been the victims of dangerous products specifically marketed to them," said Crump.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We will likely discover that Ms Mitchell's tragic case is one of countless cases in which companies aggressively misled Black women to increase their profits."</p>

<p>Earlier, Black women across the US had also blamed&nbsp;Johnson &amp; Johnson for selling&nbsp;talc-based powder that contained cancer-causing material like asbestos&nbsp;and was particularly marketed towards the dark-skinned demography of consumers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As reported by WION, in a new study published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, it was shown that women who use chemical hair-straightening tools frequently are at a greater risk of a comparatively rare type of cancer.</p>

<p>The study incorporated data from almost 34,000 women in the United States over a period of around 11 years (10.9 to be exact). Participants were aged between 35 to 74 years.</p>

<p>"We estimated that 1.64 per cent of women who never used hair straighteners would go on to develop uterine cancer by the age of 70, but for frequent users, that risk goes up to 4.05 per cent," said Alexandra White of the US National Institute of Environmental Health Safety (NIEHS) and the lead author of the study.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It is important to note that the order does not reverse the trial court's dismissal of the case or suggest that the case has merit," she added. "It merely prevents debt from being discharged until the (appeals) court makes a decision."</p>

<p>Unveiled in August, the programme will provide a $10,000 relief for borrowers with salaries less than $125,000. For recipients of Pell Grants, the relief doubles to $20,000.</p>

<p>As per news reports, the plan is going to cost the government an estimated $400 billion.&nbsp;</p>

US court issues a stay order blocking Biden's student loan forgiveness plan

<p>Karachi court made a decision in favour of a man who had abducted Chanda, a Hindu girl despite the victim's family saying that the girl was a minor,&nbsp;to no avail.</p>

<p>A Hindu minor Chanda Maharaj (15), who was abducted on October 13 from Sindh's Hyderabad city, by a person named Shaman Magsi Baloch, was recovered by Karachi Police from a rented accommodation in the city.</p>

<p>She was presented in Karachi court where she recounted her horror saying that after being kidnapped, she was taken to Karachi and forcibly converted to Islam after which she was repeatedly assaulted sexually and physically for a week before the police recovered her.</p>

<p>While Chanda Maharaj has been sent to Karachi Shelter Home for Girls and her family informed, no action has so far been initiated against the accused, Shaman Magsi Baloch.</p>

<p>The court didn't allow Chanda to go with parents. After the decision, she ran to her parents and hugged them. She was in tears.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the court slightly changed its decision after a video surfaced on social media in which a girl was in tears. The court ordered Chanda to go to a safe house and sought&nbsp;a medical report, reported Veengas.</p>

<p>Chanda Maharaj's mother said that she doesn't trust the system. "I still hope the government and the court do justice," she said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a separate incident, Jamsi Meghwar, daughter of Devo Meghwar,&nbsp;was abducted by Mustafa Dhokar and Shaukat Ali area of Tandu Ghulam Ali in Sindh's Tharparkar district on October 20.</p>

<p>Jamsi's father alleged that he was pushed and shoved by the duo before his daughter was kidnapped.</p>

<p>According to reports, Jamsi has been married off to Shaukat, son of Murad Hanhrjo after being converted to Islam by Samaru Pir Jan Srihandi. Her father claimed that the Tharparkar police had refused to lodge his complaint.</p>

<p>Cases of Hindu girls being kidnapped and converted to Islam after being married to their abductors are on the rise with reports of four such cases coming from Pakistan's Sindh province on October 19 and 20.</p>

<p>As per information, two sisters, aged 17 and 18 years, from the Hindu Ood community were kidnapped from the Salhepat tehsil area of Sindh's Sakkar district on October 19.</p>

<p>Their mother claims that they were abducted by three Muslims, known to them, when they were returning home from the market with groceries.</p>

<p>She further claimed that the police had not only refused to register the FIR but had also refused to entertain the complaint itself.</p>

<p>She said that she was pushed out of the police station when she protested. The mother and her relatives fear that the sisters will be forced to convert to Islam and then married off to their abductors.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, in a video released by Baloch Solidarity Committee, the group has called on all Pakistanis to support them by taking part in the rally protesting against the killing of Baloch people in the name of fake encounters.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The release said that they want their dear ones to be safe and alive and to search for their dead and mutilated bodies in the biggest torture that the Pakistani Government is inflicting on them.</p>

<p>"Our struggle is the only hope for thousands of missing person families, who have been in fear and anguish because of the fake encounter of enforcedly disappeared persons," she said.</p>

<p>"The brutal killing of Baloch on daily basis is really disturbing. Balochistan has turned into a graveyard where we find mutilated bodies fallen everywhere. Raise your Voice!" added Mahrang Baloch.</p>

<p>The agency said heightened&nbsp;unpredictability in policymaking with inflation touching new highs and growth prospects looking dim added to the overall decision.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Risks to the UK's debt affordability from likely higher borrowing and risk of a sustained weakening in policy credibility," it said citing&nbsp;another reason for the downgraded outlook.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The agency said that the reversal will only be possible if the UK government is able to inspire confidence with its policymaking measures.</p>

<p>"The evolution of policymaking, and the UK government's ability to engender confidence in its commitment to fiscal prudence, will be a material consideration for Moody's in resolving the negative outlook."</p>

<p>A close aide of Kenyan President William Ruto has claimed that the two missing Indians in Kenya have been killed by the disbanded DCI unit, a media report said on Friday.</p>

<p>Zulfiqar Ahmad Khan and his friend Mohamed Zaid Sami Kidwai, who were part of the Kenya Kwanza digital campaign team, went missing along with taxi driver Nicodemus Mwania from Mombasa Road in July.</p>

<p>The two contributed immensely to the success of Ruto's campaign, said Itumbi, who was at the heart of Ruto's presidential campaigns, The Nation newspaper reported.</p>

<p>"Sometimes when our team was overwhelmed and we needed graphics, I sent (material) their way and they paused whatever they were doing and did me the favour," he said in a Facebook post.</p>

<p>"They visited Mombasa, Homa Bay, (Masai) Mara, nyama choma joints and loved our dance joints too. They invited me to India; I told them I would visit after (the) elections. Their eyes were primarily on enjoying Kenya as much as they could. When they sat down, they produced very appealing content," he added.</p>

<p>The revelation comes against a backdrop of the disbandment of the Special Service Unit (SSU), a group that has been accused of extrajudicial killings. The team is suspected to be behind the disappearance of the two Indians.</p>

<p>President Ruto ordered the disbandment of SSU last Saturday after a probe into the disappearance of the two Indians was linked to the unit, the report said.</p>

<p>A total of 21 detectives who served under the unit have been summoned to the Internal Affairs Unit (IAU) headquarters in Nairobi on Friday, it added.</p>

<p>And now Itumbi claims that the two Indians and their driver could be dead. He did not offer any proof, only promising a part two of his expose.</p>

<p>"As usual, they (Zaid and Khan) always did something extra. A meme here, a video there, a box quote and much more?&nbsp;We even had a Telegram group that rarely went silent, with endless ideas,"&nbsp;he said.</p>

<p>Just two days before they returned to India, Itumbi recalled, he learnt that the duo had lost a phone during a night out.</p>

<p>"They could not be reached. Just the other day, I finally got to know their painful last moments in the hands of people whose only mission was to ensure Dr Ruto does not become President even if it means killing people," he said.</p>

<p>India has been in touch with the Kenyan authorities on the matter, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in New Delhi last week.</p>

<p>"As far as we understand, there were two Indian nationals, Zulfiqar Ahmad Khan and Zaid Sami Kidwai, and they have been missing in Kenya since mid-July. A police complaint was filed there soon after that," MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said.</p>

<p>"Subsequently, a habeas corpus petition was filed in the Kenyan court. We understand that the issue is now sub-judice in the high court of Kenya and a number of hearings have taken place," Bagchi added.</p>

<p>He said the Indian High Commission in Kenya has been in continuous touch with the Kenyan authorities.</p>

<p>"We are also, I think, in touch with some family members? We are keeping a close eye on the issue? I am afraid they're still missing," Bagchi said.</p>

The Biden administration is looking for ways to support the masses in Iran who have taken to the streets to protest against the government, ever since the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini. Amini was found dead in mysterious circumstances with the Iranian public blaming the country's morality police for killing her in custody. “We have our foot on the gas to do everything we possibly can to support the aspirations of the Iranian people. That is our policy, period. At the same time, it is truly an Iranian movement led by young girls and spreading to other aspects of society. And we do not want to in any way eclipse their movement," a senior administrator was quoted as saying by the publication. “We are interested in finding ways to ensure that the Iranian people can have access to the internet on their phones and everywhere else. And so Starlink is one option, but it is not the only option," added the official. However, other senior officials were apprehensive about having Musk on board for another major theater after Ukraine. “He’s a loose cannon we can never predict,” said a senior US defence official. Read more: Elon Musk withdraws proposal to Pentagon seeking funds for Starlink As reported by WION, the US treasury department last month relaxed the internet rules in Iran despite the US still having a plethora of sanctions imposed on it. “As courageous Iranians take to the streets to protest the death of Mahsa Amini, the United States is redoubling its support for the free flow of information to the Iranian people,” said deputy treasury secretary Wally Adeyemo. “With these changes, we are helping the Iranian people be better equipped to counter the government’s efforts to surveil and censor them,” he added. Internet access is often curbed in Iran to stop protesters from posting videos on social media. In 2019, the government shut down the internet for about a week to stifle fuel protests which turned political, sparking the bloodiest crackdown in the 40-year history of the Islamic Republic. Musk and Starlink Moreover, the talks between Musk and the Biden administration come a few days after the Starlink boss demanded that the Pentagon fund his company for providing satellite broadband service in the war-ravaged country of Ukraine. "SpaceX is not asking to recoup past expenses, but also cannot fund the existing system indefinitely *and* send several thousand more terminals that have data usage up to 100X greater than typical households.
