<p>Ukrainian President Zelensky had been pushing the Western allies to supply the F-16 jets for months now. The Ukrainian leader discussed the proposition yet again during his appearance at the G7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan.</p>

<p>Biden said Zelensky had given 'flat assurances' to him that the F-16 fighter jets will not be used to attack Russian territory.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I have a flat assurance from Zelensky that they will not use it to go on and move onto Russian geographic territory, but wherever Russian troops are within Ukraine and the area, they would be able to do that," Biden told reporters on Sunday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Kyiv is in desperate need of more arms and advanced jets, especially after Moscow's Wagner private military unit claimed it had finally managed to take full control of the ruined eastern city of Bakhmut after months of vicious fighting.</p>

<p>In a tragic incident, a California man was killed after a car mowed him while assisting a family of ducks cross a busy highway.</p>

<p>The incident took place&nbsp;at Stanford Ranch Road and Park Drive in the city of Rocklin in the evening when 41-year-old Casey Rivara, identified as the victim, got out of his car and wore the good samaritan hat.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to William Wimsatt, a 12-year-old boy who witnessed the kind gesture of&nbsp;Rivara, everyone was applauding him for the act.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“He got out of the car and was shooing the ducks and everyone was clapping because he was being really nice,” said Wimsatt.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“He helped them get up over the curb because all the little baby duckies were having trouble and then he walked in front of our car,” the boy recounted.</p>

<p>After the ducks were safely chaperoned by Rivara to the other side of the road, the onlookers appreciated him. However, it was at this moment, a car seemingly came out of nowhere and&nbsp;struck Rivara, which left him dead on the spot.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I didn’t see the car actually hit him. All I remember is the sound and then him flying across the intersection.&nbsp;His shoes and one of his socks were right in front of our car.”</p>

<p>According to reports, Rivara&nbsp;was hit by a 17-year-old female driver while his teenage child watched from the family car. The police said the teen remained at the scene after the incident and is helping the authorities with the investigation.&nbsp;</p>

Jean Carroll has requested a US court judge to amend her initial defamation case in which she received $5 million in damages, to include Donald Trump's recent statements at a CNN town hall. The former president repeated his claims at the interview which Carroll believes was another attempt at defaming her.</p>

<p>According to Carroll's attorney, Trump's statements directly go to the issue of punitive damages which are intended to punish the person found liable.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Notably, a day after a nine-member jury found Trump liable for sexually abusing and defaming the Elle magazine writer, he called her a 'whack job' on CNN. He added that Carroll was telling a "made-up story" and that he didn't know her, which according to Carroll's lawyers, comes under the category of further "defamatory statements".&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Trump’s defamatory statements post-verdict show the depth of his malice toward Carroll since it is hard to imagine defamatory conduct that could possibly be more motivated by hatred, ill will, or spite," the complaint reads.</p>

<p>"This conduct supports a very substantial punitive damages award in Carroll’s favor both to punish Trump, to deter him from engaging in further defamation, and to deter others from doing the same," it added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Manhattan Federal Court earlier this month announced the verdict and awarded $5 million in compensatory and punitive damages to Carroll.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The nine-member jury, comprising six men and three women, reached a unanimous verdict in less than three hours but did not agree with Carroll’s allegation that the former president raped her.</p>

According to Carroll's attorney, Trump's statements directly go to the issue of punitive damages which are intended to punish the person found liable. Notably, a day after a nine-member jury found Trump liable for sexually abusing and defaming the Elle magazine writer, he called her a 'whack job' on CNN. He added that Carroll was telling a "made-up story" and that he didn't know her, which according to Carroll's lawyers, comes under the category of further "defamatory statements". "Trump’s defamatory statements post-verdict show the depth of his malice toward Carroll since it is hard to imagine defamatory conduct that could possibly be more motivated by hatred, ill will, or spite," the complaint reads. "This conduct supports a very substantial punitive damages award in Carroll’s favor both to punish Trump, to deter him from engaging in further defamation, and to deter others from doing the same," it added. The Manhattan Federal Court earlier this month announced the verdict and awarded $5 million in compensatory and punitive damages to Carroll. The nine-member jury, comprising six men and three women, reached a unanimous verdict in less than three hours but did not agree with Carroll’s allegation that the former president raped her. <p>Last year in July, both&nbsp;Andy and Lynette Smith were left shocked when they saw the muscular animals, each weighing over 600 kg, escape from a&nbsp;breeds farm and arrive on their property. The herd was able to escape the farm after an electric fence failed and they were able to scale a wooden fence and hedge separating the field from Smiths' garden.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“When my wife went to make the morning tea, she glanced out of the kitchen window and saw eight buffaloes in the pool,” said Andy Smith.</p>

<p>“She called 999 and was told the fire brigade doesn’t accept hoax calls. It took some persuading to get them to take us seriously. When they arrived, one of the buffaloes, spooked by their hi-vis jackets, headed straight at them.”</p>

<p>The Income Tax department on Monday said online game platforms will not be required to deduct tax at the source for a player if the net winning does not exceed Rs 100.</p>

<p>Finance Act 2023 inserted a new section 194BA in the Income-tax Act, 1961, with effect from April 1, 2023, which mandates online gaming platforms to deduct income-tax on the net winnings in the person's user account.</p>

<p>Tax is required to be deducted at the time of withdrawal as well as at the end of the financial year.</p>

<p>The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has notified Rule 133 of the I-T Rules defining the manner and procedure for deduction of the TDS. Net winnings of an online gamer would be calculated after subtracting the total deposits and opening balance in the user account from the amount withdrawn.</p>

<h2><strong>Regulations mandated under the new scheme</strong></h2>

<p>To remove the difficulty in deducting tax at source under section 194BA of the Act for "insignificant withdrawal", it is clarified that tax may not be deducted on withdrawal on the satisfaction of all of the following conditions:</p>

<p>(i) net winnings comprised in the amount withdrawn does not exceed Rs 100 in a month.</p>

<p>(ii) tax not deducted on account of this concession is deducted at a time when the net winnings comprised in withdrawal exceeds Rs 100 in the same month or subsequent month or if there is no such withdrawal, at the end of the financial year.&nbsp;</p>

<p>(iii) the deductor undertakes the responsibility of paying the difference if the balance in the user account at the time of tax deduction under section 194BA of the Act is not sufficient to discharge the tax deduction liability calculated in accordance with Rule 133, the CBDT said.</p>

Currently, the company is owned by a middle-aged woman from Kerch, with her Ukrainian passport being recorded in the Polish company’s documents. Moreover, a 55-year-old Ukrainian woman is the company's director and stakeholder since September 2021.&nbsp;</p>

The travel agency had reportedly sent a mail regarding the yacht to Germany’s Mola Yachting headquartered on Rugen island. The company did not have anything extraordinary about it but in 2020, during the peak of the pandemic, it managed to suddenly earn 2.8 million euros. Currently, the company is owned by a middle-aged woman from Kerch, with her Ukrainian passport being recorded in the Polish company’s documents. <p>Additionally, the Supreme Court (SC) has granted the market regulator time till August 14 to submit its final report. SEBI had moved the SC last month demanding a six-month extension to probe the case.</p>

<p>Mitsotakis made the announcement after meeting Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou earlier in the day where he was granted a three-day mandate to form a coalition government. He said that instead of forming a coalition, he will call for another general election.</p>

<p>“I intend to return the exploratory mandate to you this afternoon so that we can hold elections, possibly even on June 25,” Mitsotakis told Sakellaropoulou on Monday, Politico reported.&nbsp;“There are no conditions for the formation of a government.”</p>

<p>"The people wanted the choice of a Greece run by a majority government and by New Democracy without the help of others," Mitsotakis said in a victory speech.</p>

<p>“The citizens want a strong government with a four-year horizon. Today’s political earthquake calls on all of us to speed up the process for a definitive government solution," he added.&nbsp;</p>
