Subsequently, the fight spills into the school gym with other students quickly following the brawl and filming the incident on their phones.&nbsp;

As the fighting escalated, one of the students appeared to jab at two teens with a sharp object before fleeing, reported the New York Times, citing footage obtained by media outlets WRAL News and CBS 17.

Speaking about the victims, the local police chief said that both students were taken to the hospital and one of them later succumbed to his injuries.&nbsp;

“Both victims were transported to an area hospital,” Raleigh police chief Estella Patterson said during a press conference.&nbsp;

“Sadly one victim succumbed to his injuries,” she added. The police chief also called the incident “very unfortunate” and “one that is very disturbing to us.”

The teen who has been accused of stabbing his two peers has been arrested and charged with murder on a juvenile petition, reported WRAL News.&nbsp;

The police said that the student who died was 15 years old and the other student who was injured and is hospitalised is aged 16. Both the victims and the suspect have not been identified.&nbsp;

Cherelle McLaughlin, the mother of the alleged stabber, told WRAL News her son was acting in self-defence and claimed he was concerned for his safety at the school.

“The whole situation is terrible,” said McLaughlin. She also went on to say how she feels bad for the other family but also for her son “because he was fighting for his life. It wasn’t a fair fight. I just don’t think it should have happened like that.”

The school cancelled classes and after-school activities on Tuesday (Nov 28) to allow students to process the incident and their classmate’s death.&nbsp;

Ukraine has claimed that Russian forces have intensified the fighting to capture the eastern Ukrainian town of Avdiivka, which has been at the forefront of the conflict since 2014. The town's top official was quoted as saying on Monday (Nov 27) that the Russian army was trying to advance on all sides after weeks of fighting.&nbsp;

Avdiivka was briefly captured in 2014 by Russian-financed separatists who seized large chunks of eastern Ukraine. However, fortifications were later built around the town.&nbsp;

A report published by HAARETZ on Monday (Nov 27)&nbsp;mentioned that the use of prescription drugs to treat depression and trauma increased in the month after the Israel-Hamas war started.&nbsp;

As per the report, Clalit Health Services said the number of prescriptions issued to treat those conditions between September and October grew by 11 per cent. This particular health service is the HMO which, as per the report, treats more than half of all Israelis and around 80 per cent of those living in the war-torn north and south.&nbsp;

The report also mentioned that the rise is seen in prescriptions, which included psychiatric drugs and tranquilisers, such as antidepressants and antianxiety drugs from the SSRI family, and also the drugs from the benzodiazepine family.&nbsp;

As per the report, the HMOs stated that in most of the new cases, the prescribed drugs are for short-term use and are aimed at treating anxiety. They are not necessarily a long-term solution. People are also buying over-the-counter preparations and nutritional supplements with a focus on relaxation and stress reduction.

Another health service, the Maccabi Health Services, which insures some 2.6 million Israelis, said as mentioned in the report that the number of prescriptions it was making for anti-depressants and trauma and tranquillisers had risen 20 per cent in the first months of the war.&nbsp;

As quoted, Dr Tali Shmueli, Maccabi's chief psychiatrist, said: "Not everyone who visits a doctor will necessarily leave with a prescription. There are those for whom a reassuring call or a referral to call therapy is enough. There are those who will be directed to use natural sedatives. Such preparations are not addictive, have no side effects and can help for a certain amount of time."&nbsp;

Shmueli said that "many of those seeking help don't really need psychiatric medication. However, in cases where we really see that someone is not functioning, we give a prescription for medication".&nbsp;

“We really feel attacked,” said the Rabbi, adding that the community wouldn’t be intimidated.&nbsp;

Montreal police’s arson squad is leading the investigation and the hate crimes unit has been advised but is not yet actively involved in the investigation, reported CBC News. The law enforcement officials are also reportedly reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
