United States President Joe Biden has asked his campaign aides to focus on the most extreme statements and comments made by former president Donald Trump in the past and use them to highlight how the two 2024 frontrunners differ from each other.&nbsp;

According to CNN, Biden wants&nbsp;his campaign aides to highlight Trump’s “crazy s***” to prove that he was not fit to come back as the president, months after Trump adopted similar tactics to disparage Biden.

“President Biden himself personally instructed some of his top campaign aides to be even more aggressive in highlighting some of President Trump‘s more inflammatory and wild comments,” claimed CNN reporter MJ Lee.&nbsp;

“We‘re told that the thrust of the president‘s direction was to significantly ramp up the campaign‘s efforts to highlight the crazy shit that Trump says in public," he added.

“The president knows the stakes this November could not be higher for the American people,” said Ammar Moussa, the Biden campaign’s director of rapid response, in a statement to CNN.

“Donald Trump is the polar opposite of everything President Biden stands for and has accomplished since he took office, and the campaign’s top priority over the next nine months will be laying out that stark choice for voters," Moussa added.&nbsp;

Addressing his supporters in Michigan at the weekend, Trump said that they need to go out and vote in the state’s primary. However, he confused the important date and said that it was on November 27 instead of February 27.

In an interview with 60 Minutes Australia, Malaya recalled how at the age of three she was locked outside in the cold by her alcoholic parents who “were too drunk to take care of her”. She eventually found her way to their pup Naida’s kennel where she lived till the age of nine.&nbsp;

She was quickly welcomed as a part of the “pack” and eventually abandoned her ability to speak for barks and growls in the six years that she lived with her dog and other neighbourhood strays, reported the New York Post.

“I would talk to them, they would bark and I would repeat it,” said Malaya, adding that this was their “way of communication.”

At the age of nine, Malaya was taken away from her pack after Ukrainian authorities were alerted about the child’s canine-like condition. However, attempts to take the nine-year-old were met with fierce resistance by the dogs, but they eventually managed to succeed.&nbsp;

In 2006, Malaya reunited with her family but it was not enough to heal her years of trauma. “When I feel lonely, I find myself doing anything I crawl on all fours. This is how lonely I feel,” she told 60 Minutes Australia.&nbsp;

“Any movement towards Israel’s withdrawal from the West Bank and Gaza requires consideration for Israel’s very real security needs,” Richard Visek, acting legal adviser at the US State Department told the court.&nbsp;

He also noted that the UNGA had asked the UN court to opine on the consequences of Israeli occupation prior to Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israel.&nbsp;

“We were all reminded of those security needs on October 7, and they persist. Regrettably those needs have been ignored by many of the participants,” Visek added.&nbsp;

He called on the judges to stick to the established UN framework for the two-state solution.&nbsp;

Washington has been “engaging intensively” with Palestinians, Israel, and other states to not only address the current crisis in Gaza but also “a political settlement that will lead to a durable peace in the region that includes lasting security…and a path to Palestinian statehood,” said the acting legal adviser.&nbsp;

He added, “There is broad international support for achieving a negotiated solution to the conflict that will give rise to a Palestinian state.”&nbsp;

Therefore, the court “should not find that Israel is legally obligated to immediately and unconditionally withdraw from occupied territory,” said the US legal adviser.&nbsp;

Notably, the US amid protests and criticism of Israel’s military action in Gaza continues to back Israel, while President Joe Biden’s administration continues to insist on a two-state solution for the region. However, the leaders of the Jewish state do not agree with the same.&nbsp;

<h2>‘Flagrant violation of international law’</h2>

The UN top court also heard from Vladimir Tarabrin, Russia’s ambassador to the Netherlands who spoke about the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza while condemning the October 7 attack on Israel.&nbsp;

He went on to slam Israel’s retaliation to the attack and called it “collective punishment” which cannot be justified. Around 90 per cent of Gazans have been forced to leave their homes and they are living in inhumane conditions, said Tarabrin.&nbsp;

The UN top court is hearing arguments from an unprecedented 52 countries on the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands that will go on till February 26.&nbsp;

However, the ICJ has been asked not to opine on the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the occupied territories, but many states participating in the hearings have called on Israel to do so.&nbsp;

The 15-judge panel has around six months to issue their opinion on the request.&nbsp;

The Houthis, who control Yemen's most populous regions, have targeted vessels with commercial ties to the US, Britain, and Israel, Reuters reported citing maritime and insurance sources.&nbsp;

In a post on X on Tuesday, Houthi spokesman Mohammed Abdul Salam said: "There is no danger to international or European navigation so long as there are no aggressive operations, and thus, there is no need to militarise the Red Sea."&nbsp;

"The Houthis characterised the vessel as Israeli. The operator was publicly listed as (in) cooperation with ZIM and regularly called (at) Israeli ports," the Ambrey advisory note said.

In another sources-based report, Reuters said that the&nbsp;Greek-flagged bulker Sea Champion arrived in the southern Yemeni port of Aden on Tuesday after being attacked in the Red Sea.&nbsp;

As per the unidentified sources, it appeared to have been a mistaken missile strike by the Houthi militia.&nbsp;

A Utah judge sentenced vlogger Ruby Franke and her business partner Jodi Hildebrandt to 4 to 60 years behind bars on Tuesday (Feb 20) after the duo pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated child abuse.

Ruby Franke in her 10-page plea agreement admitted that she had kicked her son while wearing boots, tied him, and covered his mouth and nose with her hands so he could not breathe.

“Under the plea agreement, two more charges of aggravated child abuse for each woman were dropped,” Tania Mashburn, a spokeswoman for Utah State Courts was quoted as saying by media outlet People.

Ironically, Ruby Franke, a mother of six, used to give parenting advice via a once-popular YouTube channel called “8 Passengers".

<h2>How the matter came to light</h2>

Franke’s 12-year-old son, Russell, escaped through the window of Hildebrandt’s house in the southern Utah city of Ivins on Aug 30 last year and asked a neighbour for help.

The boy was thin, covered in wounds and had duct tape around his ankles and wrists. He told investigators that Hildebrandt had put ropes on his limbs and used cayenne pepper and honey to dress his cuts, according to a search warrant.

The two women were subsequently detained and charged with six counts of aggravated abuse.

While Franke pleaded guilty to four of six charges in a hearing on December 18, Hildebrandt saw two of her six charges dropped under the plea agreement.

But&nbsp;Russell was not the only child abused by the women.

Hildebrandt admitted before court to have asked Franke’s youngest daughter, a 9-year-old to jump into a cactus multiple times and run barefoot on dirt roads until her feet blistered.

The Canadian police, on Tuesday (Feb 20) said two teenagers have been detained and charged in connection with a shooting at the home of a close associate of slain Khalistani separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar and ruled out the allegations of “foreign interference”.&nbsp;

<h2>‘No foreign interference’</h2>

Two 16-year-olds have been charged in connection with the shooting, said the Surrey detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in a statement.&nbsp;

Multiple shots had been fired at the residence of an associate of the pro-Khalistan figure Nijjar who was killed in Canada’s Surrey, British Columbia, last year.

Since then Khalistani separatist groups in Canada, including Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) had alleged the involvement of the Indian government in the shooting which took place at Simranjeet Singh’s residence on February 1.&nbsp;

Officers responded to a report of shots fired at a residence in the 2800-block of 154 Street, on February 1 at around 1:21 am (local time), said the RCMP.&nbsp;

“At the time of this incident, there was speculation circulating that this was connected to foreign interference. Investigators have not established any links to foreign interference in relation to this matter,” it added.&nbsp;

The RCMP in Canada’s Surrey also said that they have arrested and charged two 16-year-olds in connection with the shooting.&nbsp;

“On February 12, 2024, two 16-year-old males were arrested and the BC Prosecution Service approved charges of Discharging a Firearm into a place and Possessing a Loaded Prohibited Firearm,” said the Canadian police.&nbsp;

<h2>Allegations against&nbsp;Indian government</h2>

The shots were fired at Simranjeet Singh’s home, earlier this month, who is reportedly a close associate of Hardeep Singh Nijjar and helped organise a pro-Khalistani protest outside the Indian consulate in Vancouver on January 26.&nbsp;

A spokesperson for the British Columbia Gurdwaras Council and prominent figure of the pro-Khalistan movement in Canada, Moninder Singh told CBC News how Simranjeet believes the Indian government is involved in the incident.&nbsp;

Simranjeet Singh “feels like this is the Indian state, or their actors, that are playing their part here to kind of scare them off from…the activism work that he’s doing,” Moninder told CBC News.&nbsp;

Rebecca Maines, who is in prison for a parole violation, testified that Adam told her in the summer of 2021 that he had been attempting to see his daughter, identified as Harmony Montgomery.&nbsp;

The attempts were made in 2019 when he dropped her off to be with her mother because he claimed she was having bathroom accidents "on purpose".&nbsp;

Adam was charged with second-degree murder, abuse of a corpse and falsifying physical evidence in 2022. Kayla told police that her husband struck the Harmony several times after she had a bathroom accident.&nbsp;

In 2022, Adam pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder. He claimed in court last year in an unrelated case that he did not kill his daughter and loved her unconditionally.&nbsp;

He is serving a 30-year prison sentence for an unrelated gun conviction.&nbsp;
