The newly appointed Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa formed a new cabinet on Thursday (Mar 28), in which he will also&nbsp;serve&nbsp;as the foreign minister, and called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza amid the ongoing war between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas.&nbsp;

<h2>Palestinian Authority’s new cabinet</h2>

The PA announced the formation of the new cabinet but said that President Mahmoud Abbas will continue to remain in overall control, according to the presidential decree.&nbsp;

Abbas approved the new government presented by the PM, which is set to take office, on Sunday (Mar 31).&nbsp;

Earlier this month, the Palestinian president, who has been in power for nearly two decades, appointed his longtime adviser, Mustafa as the PM replacing Mohammed Shtayyeh who, along with his government, resigned in February.&nbsp;

His cabinet “will work on formulating visions to reunify the institutions, including assuming responsibility for Gaza,” said the Palestinian PM. &nbsp;

Mustafa had vowed to form a technocratic government and create an independent trust fund to help rebuild Gaza. The reforms also came amid international pressure to make changes in Abbas’ administration.&nbsp;

The new PA government will also have a state minister for “relief affairs”. Mustafa will be replacing Riyad al-Maliki as the foreign minister, reported Wafa.

Notably, the Palestinian Authority has limited powers in parts of the Israeli-occupied West Bank. The Palestinian PM also noted the need to stop the “terrorism” by the Israeli settlers in the West Bank.&nbsp;

“In order to enable the launch of the recovery process and preparation for reconstruction, stop the aggression and settlement activities, and curb settlers' terrorism in the West Bank,” said Mustafa.&nbsp;

Members from Abbas’ Fatah movement and Hamas met in Russia, last month, in a bid to end long-time divisions weakening Palestinian political aspirations.&nbsp;

In response, Fatah blamed Hamas for the state in which Gaza is today because it unilaterally carried out “the Oct 7 adventure.”&nbsp;

Over the years, international efforts to reconcile Hamas and Fatah have failed. The United States called for reform in the PA to administer post-war Gaza before eventually attaining statehood.&nbsp;

However, Israel has rejected the idea saying it wants to maintain an open-ended security control over Gaza.&nbsp;

The Islomov family - brothers Amirchon and Dilovar and their father Isroil, a native of Tajikistan, are alleged of aiding the four Tajik nationals accused of attacking the Crocus City Hall venue, that killed&nbsp;at least 143 people.

Russia on Sunday (Mar 24) charged four suspects with acts of terrorism in connection to the tragic attack at a concert hall outside Moscow, which on Friday night (Mar 22) killed 137 people.

<h2>About the suspects</h2>

As per a Reuters report citing Moscow Basmanny district courts' official Telegram channel, the suspects have been named as Dalerdzhon Mirzoyev, Saidakrami Rachabalizoda, Shamsidin Fariduni, and Muhammadsobir Fayzov.

The men, whom the Russian media identified as being citizens of the ex-Soviet republic of Tajikistan living in the country, would be remanded in pre-trial custody until May 22.

On Friday, just before Soviet-era rock group Picnic was to perform its hit "Afraid of Nothing" four armed men burst into Crocus City Hall, a 6,200-seat concert hall outside Moscow, unleashing a barrage of gunfire with their automatic weapons in short bursts. The attackers killed 137 people, including three children, while another 182 were injured. &nbsp;

Lieberman, who held a law degree from Yale Law School, was a member of the Connecticut State Senate and then attorney general of Connecticut before becoming a U.S. senator.

Lieberman had three children from two marriages; his first marriage ended in divorce.

One of the suspects was seen being brought in on a wheelchair, appearing to be missing an eye. Another had a bandage where his right ear should be, while a third had a black eye and a ripped plastic bag around his neck. The fourth suspect, with a swollen face, seemed disoriented and struggled to keep his eyes open.

Now, the Russian commissioner for human rights Tatyana Moskalkova has stressed that the detention of suspects should be carried out according to the law.

"It is absolutely unacceptable to use torture on detainees and defendants," said Moskalkova.

The incumbent Colombian president, a former urban guerrilla, took office in August 2022. Petro said the goal is “total peace” in a country which has been ravaged by decades of fighting between multiple groups, including leftist guerillas, right-wing paramilitaries, and drug gangs.&nbsp;

The couple described themselves as “grieving” and “devastated” to lose the magpie, which they surrendered to authorities on March 1.

The incident started a debate over animals choosing to live where they want vs. what animal authorities deem right for them.

Queensland’s Premier Steven Miles also expressed his support for the Peggy and Molly duo and said the magpie should be reunited with the family, contradicting the decision of state officials.&nbsp;

“We did everything in our power to work with the department, including training and also me obtaining my wildlife permit, which, after a period of time, I had to retract my application, as it was a bit of a conflict to our page,” Mortensen said.

Australian magpies are protected native species that are considered crucial to the nation’s ecosystem. They are generally attacking in nature and can live up to 30 years in the wild.

To reunite the “bonded animals”, the couple started an online petition that has been signed by more than 70,000 fans now.

The state’s Department of Environment, Science and Innovation (DESI) said they understand the interest of people in Molly, but warned that magpies were not domestic animals and should only ever be housed temporarily for the sole purpose of rehabilitation.

"The magpie is currently under the care of DESI. Unfortunately, it has been highly habituated to human contact and is not capable of being released back into the wild," a spokesperson said.

Wells and Mortensen said that they would continue their campaign to bring back Molly.&nbsp;

French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal said the state will sue a teenage girl who falsely accused her headteacher of using violence during a heated argument over wearing an Islamic head covering. The teacher has now quit following death threats on social media.

After the killing of two teachers in the past years, any kind of Islamist threats sent to French schools is considered extremely serious in the country.&nbsp;

In 2020, Samuel Paty was decapitated in Paris and five months ago, Dominique Bernard was murdered inside his school.&nbsp;

The headteacher, whose identity has not been revealed to the public, sent a resignation email to his colleagues at the Maurice Ravel Lycee in Paris on Friday (Mar 22).&nbsp;

<h2>How the row over Islamic veil started in school</h2>

The incident occurred on February 28 when the teacher asked three female pupils to follow French law and remove their head scarves inside the school premises.&nbsp;

The two students followed the rule, but the third one did not obey, which led to an altercation.

In subsequent days,&nbsp;the head teacher received death threats on social media platforms, which were sent by the school to an interior ministry hotline.

As per prosecutors, two people were detained after the death threats were investigated.

The identities of the detainees were not revealed, but the education ministry said they had no connection with the school.&nbsp;

Police officials also patrolled around the school premises and Education Minister Nicole Belloubet also paid a visit.

No evidence was found by the officers which proved that the girl was hit by the headteacher and Prime Minister Gabriel Attal also stepped into the issue and said that she would be sued for making false allegations.
