Homeowner Mathew Sims said that his pup, named Baby, was playing in the backyard of the house in Jacksonville, Florida when the rusted object was dug up by her near the fence line, said the police.&nbsp;

Speaking to FOX 30, Sims said, "You couldn’t tell what it was until you started pulling it up. Once I got it halfway out, I was like oh, I know what this is, let me gently put this back down."

The metallic item discovered was actually an unexploded military bomb, which was decades old.

The weapon was carefully laid back by Sims at the place where his dog discovered it and he then called the authorities. He added that the bomb weighed nearly 10 pounds and was around a foot long.&nbsp;

As per a police report, the amount of decay present on the weapon hinted that the bomb had been underground for years.

A bomb squad reached his&nbsp;home, which was located on 15th Street E, and the neighbourhood was evacuated.&nbsp;

Formerly posted on X, a grayscale image capturing the rough terrain of a crater accompanied the update on the SLIM mission, shared via a platform similar to Twitter. The SLIM lander's touchdown in January happened&nbsp;at an unexpected angle, misaligning its solar panels.

The state police in Massachusetts were full of gratitude for a robotic dog which saved their lives and averted a tragedy, which involved a person who had barricaded himself in a home and was firing at them.

The robotic dog, which was&nbsp;named Roscoe, was working with the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad.

On March 6, it was deployed in a Barnstable house after the man started firing upon the police officials. Two robots, which are generally used for bomb disposal, were sent by the police into the house to find the suspect. The robotic dog was also sent inside with them.

The robotic dog, which is remotely controlled by the state troopers, first checked out&nbsp;the two main floors before they found a person in the basement.&nbsp;

The suspect, who was carrying a rifle, twice knocked over the robotic dog and then shot it three times. After the attack, the robotic dog's communication was disabled.&nbsp;

Then, the person shot one of the other robots after which the police deployed tear gas and arrested the person.

<h2>State police to get new unit of robot dog</h2>

“The incident provided a stark example of the benefits of mobile platforms capable of opening doors and ascending stairs in tactical missions involving armed suspects,” said state police, in a statement.&nbsp;

“In addition to providing critically important room clearance and situational awareness capabilities, the insertion of Roscoe into the suspect residence prevented the need, at that stage of response, from inserting human operators, and may have prevented a police officer from being involved in an exchange of gunfire," it added.

The company Boston Dynamics, which made the robotic dog called as a SPOT robot, in a statement said that it was the first time somebody had shot one of them.&nbsp;

Two people, a 49-year-old woman&nbsp;and a 72-year-old man had to be hospitalised, while three others, including a 10-year-old girl, were left with cuts and bruises.&nbsp;

Taraba took to Facebook and said that the bear who had injured the five people had been fatally shot on Tuesday (Mar 26) night at around 9:50 pm (local time) and thanked those involved in the operation.&nbsp;

“A biometrics drone was used to identify it,” said the environment minister. Local media reports citing the State Nature Conservancy said that they used patrolling drones equipped with high-resolution cameras, thermal imaging and the latest surveillance tech to identify the bear.&nbsp;

<h2>State of emergency called off</h2>

The mayor of the town which had been left on edge after the bear attack called off the state of emergency.&nbsp;

Liptovský Mikuláš had declared a state of emergency after the bear attack asking people not to leave their homes and deployed six armed patrols to track it.&nbsp;

This incident took place close days after a separate bear attack where a 31-year-old woman from Belarus died after she was chased by a bear near the same town. She was later found by a search dog at the bottom of a steep ravine.

<h2>Wrong bear?</h2>

Members of Slovakia’s government led by populist nationalists said that the incident in Liptovský Mikuláš proved that some of the European Union’s environmental protections on wildlife, which prevents animals such as bears and wolves from being hunted, need to be relaxed.&nbsp;

On Wednesday, Slovakia's government approved a draft law addressing bear attacks in urban areas. If passed, a 500-metre safety zone would be created around the towns and villages. Any bear entering this zone could be shot, said Taraba, as per AFP.&nbsp;

A member of the opposition Progressive Slovakia rejected the government’s claims and said they shot the wrong bear citing documents written by the "bear intervention team".&nbsp;

“A 67-kilogramme female bear was caught and killed,” said Michal Wiezik, as quoted by AFP.&nbsp;

He added, “It is not necessary to use high-end biometrics to make it clear that such a shooting cannot be in any way related to the 100-kilogramme male they were looking for.”&nbsp;

The three-judge panel in the New Orleans-based 5th Circuit Court of Appeals voted 2-1 that the Texas Senate Bill 4 (SB4), should remain blocked, in a decision issued overnight.&nbsp;

The court noted that the statutes in the new state law “significantly impair the exercise of discretion by federal immigration officials.”&nbsp;

The decision was made by the same court that blocked the controversial immigration law hours after the Supreme Court overturned a previous ruling from a different panel which had put the law into effect.

She also cited the 2012 Supreme Court ruling which had struck down a similar law in Arizona.

Richman noted that whatever the state’s criticisms about the federal government’s “actions and inactions” are, it is the president’s role to decide how to deal with “noncitizens illegally present” in the country.&nbsp;

Last month, US District Judge David Ezra in the Texas city of Austin, agreed with Democratic President Joe Biden’s administration which argued that the law interferes with the federal government’s power over immigration granted by the US Constitution.&nbsp;

On Wednesday, Telegram channel 'Baza', reportedly linked to Russia’s security services, stated that 95 individuals not listed among the 120 names in the official registry of victims were missing following the shooting at Crocus City Hall.&nbsp;

Their relatives have been unable to contact them since the attack on Friday, according to Baza.

As per reports, Russians took to social media to track down missing relatives.&nbsp;

It remains unclear whether the 84 bodies identified so far include those listed in the official registry, The Guardian said in a report.

Many victims are believed to have died from smoke inhalation after the attackers set the building on fire, causing the roof to collapse.

These two things also contributed to making some bodies unrecognisable, reports Telegram channel '112' citing an unnamed source.

"In many cases, only fragments of the bodies remain," they added.

Maryland State Police Colonel Roland Butler confirmed that the bodies of Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes, 35, of Baltimore, and Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera, 26, of nearby Dundalk, were discovered in a red pickup truck.

The truck was submerged in about 25 feet (7.62 metres) near the mid-section of the fallen bridge.

The four other workers are still missing and are presumed dead given the length of time that has elapsed since the bridge collapse and the frigid temperatures of the waters. According to officials, the six workers also included immigrants from Honduras and El Salvador.

Previously, on Tuesday, rescuers pulled two workers from the waters alive. One of them was hospitalised.

<h2>Retrieval efforts suspended</h2>

Butler revealed that sonar images showed additional submerged vehicles "encased" in fallen bridge debris and superstructure.&nbsp;

However, the efforts to locate and retrieve more bodies from the depths of the wreckage-strewn river have been suspended due to increasingly treacherous conditions.

Last year, the United Nations reported that over 100,000 individuals trafficked into online scam centres in Cambodia. In November 2023, Myanmar also made headlines by extraditing thousands of Chinese telecom fraud suspects to China.&nbsp;

Stock commended Singapore for its effective crackdown on money laundering, citing a notable case from last year when authorities seized assets worth over S$3 billion ($2.23 billion).
