&nbsp;The criminal election interference case against former US president Donald Trump has been stayed for months till an appellate panel decides if the district attorney in Fulton County needs to be disqualified from prosecuting the case with a conflict of interest.

The court, in a one-page order, said that any movement at the trial-court level related to Trump and eight other defendants who have filed a plea against the ruling which permitted prosecutor Fani T Willis to stay on the case was “stayed pending the outcome of these appeals.”

The former president's lawyers have repeatedly asked for the removal of Willis from the case while arguing that she is allegedly involved in a romantic relationship with another prosecutor.

Currently, the Georgia Court of Appeals is scheduled to hear arguments on October 4 which makes it highly unlikely to settle the case ahead of the presidential election in November.

Trump, along with 18 others, is facing prosecution in Georgia for conspiring to overturn the state's 2020 election results. The trial was almost upended after one of the co-defendants said that Willis' romantic relationship with lead prosecutor Nathan Wade was benefitting her improperly.

After some tense days in court in February, Willis finally accepted her relationship with Wade but denied getting any benefits.

Judge Scott McAfee finally found in March that Willis had a "serious lapse in judgment" and that the case suffered damage because of the relationship, with the "appearance of impropriety".

UNICEF advises that young children eat foods daily from five of eight main groups -- breast milk; grains, roots, tubers and plantains; pulses, nuts and seeds; dairy; meat, poultry and fish; eggs; vitamin A-rich fruits and vegetables; and other fruits and vegetables.

Shockingly 440 million children under five across 100 low- and middle-income countries are grappling with food poverty. This means their diets lack the essential variety they need, hindering their growth and development.

Of those, 181 million are experiencing severe food poverty, eating from at most two food groups.

"Children who eat just two food groups per day -- for example, rice and some milk -- are up to 50 per cent more likely to experience severe forms of malnutrition," UNICEF chief Catherine Russell said in a statement accompanying the report.

Malnutrition can lead to emaciation- a state of being abnormally thin that can be deadly.

"When these children are adults, they find it difficult to earn a decent income, and that turns the cycle of poverty from one generation to the next," the nutrition expert said.

The burden of severe child food poverty falls disproportionately on a small number of countries. Somalia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, and Afghanistan are particularly affected, with over half of their young children (63%, &nbsp;54%, &nbsp;53% and &nbsp;49%) facing this challenge.

While the data for wealthy countries is not available, children in low-income households there also suffer from nutritional gaps.

Thousands of ultranationalist Israelis participated in the annual march in Jerusalem’s Old City on Wednesday (June 5) amid chants of “Death to Arabs.”

A small scuffle broke out between the marchers and the police just before the procession began. Some people also threw plastic bottles at a journalist who was wearing a vest which had the word PRESS imprinted on it.

Speaking to the crowd, ultranationalist National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said that the Jerusalem Day celebration this year is sending the message that “Jerusalem is ours".

“Damascus Gate is ours. The Temple Mount is ours, and, God willing, complete victory is ours,” he added.

This meets the criteria for “severe food poverty” and means they are “children living on the brink”, according to Catherine Russell, UNICEF’s executive director.

"This can have an irreversible negative impact on their survival, growth and brain development," she said. "Children who consume just two food groups per day, for example rice and some milk, are up to 50 per cent more likely to experience severe forms of malnutrition."

<h2>Income inequality not sole reason for stunted growth: UN report</h2>

The report found that household income was not the only driver of diet quality. Children from wealthier households in some countries were also found to be living in severe food poverty due to a predominance of unhealthy and non-nutritious foods, and a lack of knowledge among parents about what a healthy diet should look like.

Less than 10 per cent of children in severe food poverty are fed fruit and vegetables, and less than 5 per cent meat, poultry and fish.

In west and central Africa, severe child food poverty fell from 42 per cent to 32 per cent over the past decade.

A former production inspector for a Boeing supplier Spirit AeroSystems, who reportedly worked for 12 years in the company, has raised serious concerns about the safety of Boeing aircraft. The person Known by the nickname "Showstopper", and identified as Santiago Paredes, claims that the company is producing planes with numerous defects. Paredes has described them as "ticking time bombs".

According to a report in the New York Post, Paredes reported identified hundreds of issues in what were supposed to be finished products.&nbsp;

"I saw missing parts, incomplete parts, frames with temporary clamps and missing fasteners, dents, damaged parts, cut rivets—issues that should have been fixed before reaching me," he told the New York Post.&nbsp;

After leaving the company in 2022, Paredes alleged that he was pressured to minimise reports on defects because his supervisors were focused on maintaining delivery schedules.&nbsp;

Additionally, Paredes worked with John Barnett, another Boeing whistleblower who was found dead on March 9.

Another whistleblower from Spirit AeroSystems, Joshua Dean, died suddenly in May after reportedly contracting pneumonia.

Joe Buccino, a spokesman for Spirit AeroSystems, declined to comment on specific allegations but said in a statement "We encourage anyone at Spirit with concerns or potential improvements to come forward. We have streamlined the process through a QR code scanning system on the shop floor."

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which have been at war with the regular army since April 2023, attacked the village of Wad al-Noura in al-Jazira state twice with heavy artillery on Wednesday (June 5), said the Madani Resistance Committee.

The committee said the feared paramilitaries attacked the village, causing widespread displacement and casualties.

The committee shared footage on social media, calling it a mass grave in the public square, showing rows of white shrouds laid out in a courtyard.

Over a year, the war has killed tens of thousands of people, including up to 15,000 in&nbsp;West Darfur town alone.

The war's actual death toll remains unclear. US special envoy for Sudan, Tom Perriello, cited estimates as high as "150,000."

The RSF has repeatedly laid siege to and attacked entire villages across Sudan, particularly in the agricultural state of Al-Jazira.
