One of Turkey’s top defence firms near the capital city Ankara came under attack on Wednesday (Oct 23), when a group of assailants opened fire on civilians, killing five people and injuring 22 others.&nbsp;

The two attackers, a woman and a man, were allegedly “neutralised” immediately, and were seen on camera carrying out the deadly attack at the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS), located some 40 kilometres north of Ankara.&nbsp;

Several videos from the attack have been doing rounds on social media, which show attackers carrying bags and firing bullets using what appeared to be assault rifles.&nbsp;

At the time of the attack, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was holding talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin during the 16th BRICS Summit.&nbsp;

Erdogan condemned the Wednesday incident calling it a "heinous terrorist attack," Al Jazeera reported.

From the videos available all X, it looks like the entire attack was caught on CCTV cameras from the streets and the TUSAS headquarters. One of those videos also showed a huge explosion rocking the building of the state-run company.

The Turkish government believe the attack was "probably linked" to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which has been involved in a decades-long insurgency against the government, according to an Al&nbsp;Jazeera report.

"The way in which this action was carried out is very probably linked to the PKK," said Turkey's Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya.

"The identification process and the search for fingerprints are continuing and we will say which terrorist organisation was behind the attack," he said further.

The zoo has closed its mammals section since October 14 and started cleaning and disinfection.

The other 78 animals in the section are reported to be healthy.

The melioidosis outbreak in Hong Kong was first reported in the 1970s, leading to the deaths of 24 dolphins at Ocean Park.

He said the two leaders have given instructions for various official and other bilateral mechanisms between the two countries to be activated.

"PM Modi met with President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the 16th BRICS Summit. This was their first proper bilateral meeting at delegation level in nearly 5 years, the last one being on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in Brasilia in 2019. This meeting happened close on the heels of the disengagement and patrolling agreement and the resolution of issues that had arisen in the India-China border areas in 2020," he said.

"The two leaders welcomed the agreement reached between the two sides through sustained dialogue over the last several weeks in diplomatic as well as military channels. PM Modi underscored the importance of not allowing differences on boundary-related matters to disturb peace and tranquillity on our borders. The two leaders noted that the special representatives on the India-China boundary question have a critical role to play in the resolution of the boundary question and for the maintenance of peace and tranquillity in the border areas," he added.

Misri said the two leaders also reviewed the state of bilateral relations from a strategic and long-term perspective.

"They were of the view that stable bilateral relations between India and China, the two largest nations on earth will have a positive impact on regional and global peace and prosperity. Both of them stressed that with maturity and wisdom, and by showing mutual respect for each other's sensitivities, interests, concerns and aspirations, the two countries can have a peaceful, stable and beneficial bilateral relationship," he said.

Misri&nbsp;said officials will now take the next steps to discuss enhancing strategic communication and stabilizing bilateral relations.

"The restoration of peace and tranquillity in the border areas will create space for returning us towards the path of normalization of our bilateral relations. Officials will now take the next steps to discuss enhancing strategic communication and stabilizing bilateral relations by utilizing the relevant official bilateral dialogue mechanisms, including at the level of our respective foreign ministers."

The foreign secretary said the leaders also had a very productive exchange on BRICS and the potential for India and China to enhance cooperation on this particular platform.

Misri said PM Modi and President Xi Jinping welcomed the efforts that were made by Indian and Chinese negotiators and the results that were achieved.

"It is certainly our expectation that as a result of not only the agreement that was arrived at just a couple of days ago between Indian and Chinese diplomatic and military negotiators but also as a result of the endorsement of that agreement at the highest leader level, possible between the two countries as happened in the meeting today where both Prime Minister Modi and President Xi Jinping welcomed the efforts that were made by Indian and Chinese negotiators and the results that were achieved by that. I think these should certainly lead to an easing of the situation along the LAC. We have a number of confidence-building measures and these evolve continuously. As the two sides engage once again in multiple formats, this is certainly a subject that I think will be under discussion between the two sides," he said.

"Insofar as Depsang and Demchok is concerned, if you see the statements that I have made over the last 48 to 72 hours, I think the answer should be quite clear. I have made the point that the last time we had an agreement on the several issues that had arisen in the India-China border areas since 2020, the last agreement was in 2022 in September. Since then, we had been involved in trying to find a resolution of the pending issues in the balance areas along the Line of Actual Control, which pertain to these areas that you have mentioned. The agreement that has been arrived at essentially pertains to these areas," he added.

Baskin expressed his confidence that the US had the necessary "leverage" to force a ceasefire but added sceptically, "the question is if they're willing to use it".

"He ran outside shouting, "Why did you do this?! Why? Why? Why?" Eyal Golan told the publication.

He has slammed the state social security and welfare agencies for failing to help her.

"They are 100% accountable for my sister's death," said Golan. The 36-year-old says he also suffered from PTSD resulting from his military service in 2021.&nbsp;

According to the BBC report, Yang said he sought UK asylum "as a last resort", hoping to return to Singapore some day.&nbsp;

He will continue to be politically active as a member of the opposition Progress Singapore Party.&nbsp;

The UK asylum was granted after confirmation that Yang had "well-founded fear of persecution," as per&nbsp;documents seen by BBC.

The Lee siblings' father&nbsp;Lee Kuan Yew, considered the founding father of modern Singapore,&nbsp;died in 2015.

Till he fell out with his brother, Yang himself was very much part of the so-called first family of Singapore, and once was the chief of the country's largest telecom firm.

Among the rules struck down by Cox were provisions requiring three poll workers to count ballots by hand after polls closed, as well as changes to the certification process for county election results.

The Israel Defence Forces said on Wednesday (Oct 23) that they have uncovered documents in the Gaza Strip&nbsp;that reveal six Al Jazeera journalists being operatives of the Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror groups, reported The Times of Israel.&nbsp;

The IDF identified the six journalists as Anas al-Sharif, Alaa Salameh, Hossam Shabat, Ashraf al-Sarraj, Ismail Abu Omar, and Talal al-Arrouqi.

Al-Sharif was the head of a rocket launching squad and a member of a Nukhba Force company in Hamas’s Nuseirat Battalion. Meanwhile, Salameh was the deputy head of the Shaboura Battalion’s propaganda unit.&nbsp;

The document further "unequivocally proves” that the journalists functioned as members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad’s respective military wings.

“These documents are proof of the involvement of Hamas terrorists in the Qatari media network, Al-Jazeera,” the IDF says in a statement.

They added that the named journalists are "spearheading" the spread of Hamas propaganda on Al Jazeera, especially in the northern Gaza Strip.&nbsp;

Earlier in January, Israel had said that an Al Jazeera staff journalist and a freelancer killed in an airstrike in Gaza&nbsp;were actually terror operatives.&nbsp;

Next month, they accused another Al Jazeera journalist, who was wounded in a separate strike, of actually being a deputy company commander with Hamas.

However, Al Jazeera has fiercely denied Israel's allegations and accused it of systematically targeting Al Jazeera employees in the Gaza Strip.

Israel on Tuesday (Oct 22) confirmed the killing of Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, the heir apparent to slain Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
