Because the Taliban are not formally recognised within the UN system as the legitimate government of Afghanistan, the source said, the officials cannot receive credentials to take part in the proceedings of full member states.

Azerbaijan's COP29 presidency declined to comment.

The Taliban has closed schools and universities to female students over the age of around 12. It also announced a set of wide-ranging morality laws this year that require women to cover their faces in public and restrict their travel outside the home without a male guardian.&nbsp;

Afghanistan is considered one of the countries worst affected by climate change. The drone attack temporarily halted operations at Moscow’s Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports.

Russia’s federal air transport agency, Rosaviatsia, in a statement, said that “to ensure the safety of civil aircraft flights, temporary restrictions have been introduced on the operation of the Domodedovo and Zhukovo airports,” starting at 0530 GMT. However, it did not specify how long the restrictions would remain in place.

Ukrainian officials have previously indicated these strikes that often target Russian energy production sites are retaliatory responses to Moscow's bombardments on Ukrainian energy and infrastructure sites since the war’s onset.

Elsewhere, Ukrainian drones reportedly set fire to several non-residential buildings in Russia’s Kaluga and Bryansk regions. Local authorities claim to have neutralised 17 drones over Bryansk.

The fishermen were the first to spot the 14ft whale near the northern island of Ingoya in April 2019. The spy whale was wearing a harness which had a small camera mounted over it and a buckle which had the text marked on it "Equipment St Petersburg."

This discovery had fuelled assumptions that the beluga was probably a&nbsp;"spy whale".

After carrying out investigations for 10 months, the makers of the BBC documentary Secrets of the Spy Whale found that some evidence hinted that the whale was being trained as a covert "guard whale".

"Our latest findings about the potential role that Hvaldimir had been trained to do brings us closer to solving the mystery, but they also prompt many further questions about what Russia might be seeking to guard in the Arctic, and why," said Jennifer Shaw, director of the film, while speaking to The Observer.

<h2>How do animals turn into guards?</h2>

While looking into the mystery, the team reached out to a former dolphin trainer and veterans of an early US Navy programme who explained how these creatures turned into guards.

Speaking to the newspaper, Blair Irvine said that the movements of swimmers create bubbles which then create noise.

Because the hearing of the dolphin is so sensitive, it becomes the best method for tracking intruders.

Shaw further told the newspaper that Hvaldimir was also trained in a similar way and was seen placing his nose on anything, which he made a target.

According to the expert, it suggested that Beluga was recruited as part of a security patrol and maybe not as spy.

On September 1, Hvaldimir was found dead and the animal rights groups had said that it was shot.

In an autopsy, a 35cm in length and 3cm wide stick was found stuck in the mouth of the animal and police said Hvaldimir also had some "completely superficial" injuries, although "there was no evidence suggesting that Hvaldimir was shot".

"There is nothing in the investigations that have been carried out to establish that it is human activity that has directly led to Hvaldimir's death," said police.

A woman from the Indian city of Bengaluru went through a harrowing experience after she boarded a fake cab, mistaking it to be her official Ola ride at Kempegowda International Airport.

The driver of the cab was later found to be an impersonator who tried to extort money from her. She quickly looked for help and was able to escape the dangerous situation narrowly.&nbsp;

Taking to X, the woman shared that she booked a cab on the Ola app from the pickup station of the airport after she reached there at 10:30 pm (local time).

However, a driver - who was not assigned to her - reached out to her and offered her a ride.

The woman, mistaking him for an Ola driver, got inside the car but was startled when she saw that the driver did not request the mandatory OTP which is needed in the Ola app.

The driver then asked her to enter the destination in his Maps app and claimed his official app was not working. During the ride, the driver asked for extra fare, which she refused.

He then suggested that she get transferred to another cab, if she wants to pay the original fare. The woman felt threatened by the driver's behaviour and asked him to return her to the airport pickup stand.&nbsp;

Ignoring her requests, the driver stopped at a petrol station and asked her Rs 500 for the fuel.

The woman remained calm and dialled emergency helpline 112 while simultaneously informing her family members throughout the incident.

The police swiftly responded to the complaint, reached the Ola pickup stand in 20 minutes and detained the driver, who was identified as&nbsp;Basavaraj.

"Almost got trafficked/raped/looted/assaulted by a random cab driver who was let in by @BLRAirport in the Ola pickup station &amp; impersonated to be one at terminal 1 of BLR airport at 10:30 pm had I not called 112, I'd not be here typing this," wrote the woman on X.
