Israel-Hamas war: Rescuers say 30, including 13 children, killed in Gaza strikes

Gaza Civil Defence agency said on Sunday (Nov. 10) that 30 people, including 13 children, were killed in Israeli air strikes on houses in north of the Gaza Strip.
The agency said that the first strike hit a house in Jabalia, killing at least 25 people including 13 children. The second strikeon the Sabra neighbourhood killed five people, with others still missing in the aftermath, the agency added.
'Looking into reports of strikes'
Speaking to the news agency AFP, the Israeli military said that it was looking into the reports of the strikes in Jabalia and Sabra.
Since October 6 this year, the Israeli military has been engaged in a withering air and ground assault on areas of northern Gaza, including Jabalia, saying they are seeking to stop Hamas militants from regrouping there.

The war in Gaza erupted with Hamas's October 7, 2023 sudden attack on southern Israel, which resulted in 1,206 deaths, mostly civilians.
Israel's retaliatory campaign has killed more than 43,000 people in Gaza, most of them civilians, according to the Hamas-run health ministry.
Multiple efforts to have a ceasefire deal between the two sideshave so far failed, with Israel and Hamas trading blames for it.
Hamas wants an agreement that ends the war and a prisoner-for-hostagedeal, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the war will only stop once the Palestinian militant group is eradicated.
Qatar to stall efforts to mediate Gaza ceasefire
The Israeli air strikes came as Qatar told Hamas and Israel that it would stall its efforts to mediate a ceasefire in the Gaza war and hostage release deal until both sides showed "willingness and seriousness" to resume talks.

Since the war began, Qatar, along with the United States (US) and Egypt, has been working for a ceasefire in Gaza.
