Instead, President Isaac Herzog will represent the state of Israel at the largest annual gathering of North American Jewish leaders.

When asked why an invitation had not been extended to Netanyahu, a spokesperson for the JFNA said,&nbsp;"No comment."

This is the first major sign of discontent towards Netanyahu and his policies that even Jewish legacy organisations like the JFNA, which have typically refrained from criticising the Israeli prime minister publicly, have snubbed him this time.

Last year when the JFNA General Assembly was held in April, the annual event was held in Tel Aviv, to mark Israel’s 75th anniversary.

In 2023 as well, there were reports that people might block roads near the venue where the conference as anti-government protests were hot at that time.

Therefore, to avoid the optics disaster, Netanyahu cancelled his in-person address at the confab.

At the time, the focus of the protest movement was the Netanyahu government's planned attempt to eviscerate the judiciary.

A poll commissioned by the JFNA in April found that while American Jews overwhelmingly support Israel, nearly two out of three were uncomfortable with actions taken by its government.

For the first time in many years of Benjamin Netanyahu’s tenure as Prime Minister of Israel, he has been denied an invitation to address the annual conference of the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA). The event is set to be held this week in Washington DC. Instead, President Isaac Herzog will represent the state of Israel at the largest annual gathering of North American Jewish leaders. When asked why an invitation had not been extended to Netanyahu, a spokesperson for the JFNA said, "No comment." This is the first major sign of discontent towards Netanyahu and his policies that even Jewish legacy organisations like the JFNA, which have typically refrained from criticising the Israeli prime minister publicly, have snubbed him this time. At the time, the focus of the protest movement was the Netanyahu government's planned attempt to eviscerate the judiciary. A poll commissioned by the JFNA in April found that while American Jews overwhelmingly support Israel, nearly two out of three were uncomfortable with actions taken by its government. They are apparently live mannequins, modelling clothes on a makeshift ramp created out of a treadmill. The video has garnered over 5 million views and can be seen outside the designer clothing store ITIB. &nbsp;

The models wear a serious look on their face, just like ramp models, while wearing the clothes. The strange tactic, as expected, attracted several people who stopped to look on as the women walked and modelled the products live.

People took videos and shared then on social media. Everyone who saw the videos is in disbelief.&nbsp;

A Thai woman fell victim to medical carelessness when she had a baby 18 years back. As per a SCMP report, the staff accidentally dropped a suture needle inside her vagina but did not remove it, causing her to live with immense pain all these years.&nbsp;

Shockingly despite knowing about the problem, the needle still can't be removed from her body.&nbsp;

The case was revealed by the Pavena Foundation for Children and Women, a non-profit organisation in Thailand, on its website. The organisation assists victims of abuse, including rape, harassment, and human trafficking.

A 36-year-old woman living in the Thai province of Narathiwat wrote a letter to the group informing them about her case. They told her that a medical error happened 18 years back while she was in labour at a hospital. She asked them for their help to deal with the matter.&nbsp;

The woman wrote that during the delivery, the staff at the hospital acted negligently after dropping a needle into her vagina while suturing. They did not retrieve it and worried about excessive bleeding, they closed the wound.&nbsp;

The woman says that since then she has been experiencing intermittent and unbearable lower abdominal pain.

X-ray shows needle in woman's vagina left 18 years ago during childbirth

US President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin recently engaged in their first post-election call, according to reports.

According to a Washington Post report citing sources familiar with the conversation, on Thursday (Nov 7), the two leaders discussed the war in Ukraine and also touched on the goal of achieving peace in Europe.

However, the Kremlin has denied the report. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told journalists that the Washington Post report was “simply false information”.

Reportedly, the call, conducted from Trump’s Florida resort, saw the Republican warn Russian President Putin against escalating the conflict while reminding him of “Washington's sizeable military presence in Europe”.

Trump reportedly voiced interest in further talks to discuss “the resolution of Ukraine’s war soon”, echoing his campaign pledge to end the conflict quickly.

While Trump has yet to clarify specific steps towards achieving this, the leader, known for his transactional approach to foreign policy, has privately suggested he might support a peace settlement involving concessions from Ukraine.

<h2>World leaders calling Trump directly</h2>

Since his election win on Nov 7, Trump said he has already talked to over 70 world leaders. However, as per the report, contrary to the protocol, he is conducting these calls independently. The Trump transition team is yet to sign an agreement with the General Services Administration — a standard procedure for presidential transitions — and has refrained from engaging the State Department for these conversations.

This is because distrust of career officials, especially after transcripts of calls from his previous term were leaked, has led Trump's team to bypass standard protocols. Instead, world leaders are “just calling [Trump] directly,” noted a person familiar with the calls.

Trump has been vocal about the burden of US funding for Kyiv, suggesting that peace may come with difficult compromises — like Ukraine giving up some of its territory such as Crimea to Russia.

“In order to stay in power, Ishiba needs to pass the government budget this winter,” Tomoaki Iwai, professor emeritus at Nihon University, told AFP.

“It will mean the LDP will have to concede some of its policies to seek cooperation from others,” Iwai said.

Ishiba, 67, is reportedly trying to arrange a meeting with US president-elect Donald Trump later this month, around the time he travels to Peru for an economic summit.

Analysts have voiced worries that possible fresh US tariffs on Chinese and Japanese goods under Trump may fuel inflation.

The Trump administration may also demand that Japan hike its defence spending, or push Japanese firms to expand their factories in the United States.

“It must be Mr. Ishiba who is feeling the toughest headache of Mr. Trump's victory,” Hideo Kumano, chief economist at Dai-ichi Life Research Institute, wrote in a note.

Washington and domestic lawmakers are likely to press him for higher public spending and tax cuts at the same time, Kumano explained.

Approval ratings for Ishiba's government are just above 30 per cent, but polls show a majority of the public say he should remain prime minister.

However, Kaifeng was soon drowning with people, and everything was completely packed. The six-lane Zhengkai avenue, the expressway between Zhengzhou and the streets of Kaifeng, could be seen filled with tens of thousands of cyclists in a video on social media.&nbsp;

Officials quickly took measures for the weekend, restricting bike routes and some roads. Bike share apps also warned that the bikes would be remotely locked if they were taken out of designated zones in Zhengzhou.

Diplomats have insisted that the absences, and Trump's win, will not detract from the serious work at hand.

The talks come with fresh warnings that the world is far off track to meet the goals of the Paris agreement.

Babayev warned the talks were "a moment of truth for the Paris agreement."

The climate deal commits to keep warming below 2 degrees Celsius compared to pre-industrial levels, preferably below 1.5C.

But the world is likely to top that level in 2024, according to the European Union climate monitor.

That would not be an immediate breach of the Paris deal, which measures temperatures over decades, but it suggests much greater climate action is needed.

Last month, the UN warned the world is on a path towards a catastrophic 3.1C of warming this century based on current actions.

"Everyone knows that these negotiations will not be easy," said Germany's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on Sunday.

"But they are worth it: each tenth of a degree of warming avoided means fewer crises, less suffering, less displacement."&nbsp;

More than 51,000 people are expected at the talks, which run from November 11 to 22.&nbsp;
