A new report from the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry, released on June 23, 2026, has concluded that Israeli authorities and security forces have deliberately targeted Palestinian children in Gaza and the West Bank. The 94-page document, titled “The essence of childhood has been destroyed,” asserts that these actions constitute genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes.
