Turkish riot police used pepper spray to disperse officials of the opposition CHP party inside their Istanbul headquarters, making way for a court-appointed interim chair. The raid follows a court order suspending the party’s provincial leadership over alleged irregularities, and comes amid a broader crackdown that has already seen the arrest of popular Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu.
