In a major and rare escalation of regional hostilities, the Afghan Taliban’s Ministry of Defense announced on Friday, June 19, 2026, that it conducted overnight airstrikes against alleged Islamic State-Khorasan (ISIS-K) hideouts located inside Pakistani territory. The strikes reportedly targeted locations in the Gulistan and Chagai areas of Balochistan, as well as the Orakzai district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
