Tensions have flared in the South China Sea after China’s military accused the Dutch frigate HNLMS De Ruyter of illegal incursions near the disputed Paracel Islands. Beijing alleges that the warship repeatedly launched a helicopter into airspace it claims as its own, prompting the People's Liberation Army (PLA) to deploy naval and air forces to issue warnings and employ electronic interference to drive the vessel away
