President Putin meets African leaders in St. Petersburg | Russia-Africa Forum
At the summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin informed the president of the African Union that Russia was depending on the African Union gaining full membership in the G20 in September. African leaders had traveled to Russia for a summit with Putin as he sought friends in the midst of the military operation in Ukraine.
