Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has sparked outrage after suggesting citizens in flood-affected areas store water in containers, calling it a “blessing.” Over 2 million people in Punjab have been impacted, with 800+ dead and more than 1,100 injured.
Rising river levels, ongoing monsoon rains, and destroyed crops have raised fears of a food crisis and inflation.
