Nutrition experts have stated that biofortified foods are now a promising way to reduce malnutrition in Nigeria by roughly 30 per cent, especially in regions with high malnutrition prevalence. While expressing concern over the rising cost of a healthy diet in the country, the food experts noted that biofortified crops had the potential to lead to significant reductions in micronutrient deficiencies.
