We will always remember Madhubala for Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya&nbsp;Meena Kumari for her songs in Pakeezah&nbsp;and Rekha for the ghazals in Umrao Jaan. The star power of Vyjayanthimala, Wahida Rehman, Asha Parekh, Hema Malini, Sri Devi, and Madhuri Dixit owed a lot to the songs picturized on them. Even Amit ji (Amitabh Bachchan), who was known as the 'Angry Young Man' featured in sensational song sequences and even sang super hit songs in his own voice."

I cannot imagine a world without film music &nbsp;because I deeply believe that emotional resonance and connection come largely through&nbsp;music."

He also believes that film music is a perfect amalgamation of classical, folk, regional, and contemporary music and offers a rooted cultural identity to Indians.&nbsp;

He says, "When I travel abroad, people connect with me through their favourite Hindi film songs even though they may not understand the words. Remember what a big rage Raj Kapoor's &nbsp;Awaara Hoon&nbsp;was in Russia? The same craze could be seen over Naatu Naatu&nbsp;in recent times. The Indian diaspora around the world too feels a sense of belonging through the songs that take them back to their roots. Indian cinema would indeed be incomplete without its soulful melodies."

Every year on June 21, the world celebrates World Music Day to celebrate the art. The day first originated in France in 1982. Back then, the French Minister of Culture, Jack Lang, 1981, conceived the idea of celebrating a day dedicated to music.&nbsp;

However, as cited by the Hindustan Times, another theory suggests that Joel Cohen in 1976 proposed the idea of an all-night music celebration to mark the beginning of the summer solstice, and since then the world has celebrated Music Day.&nbsp;

World Music Day 2023: Significance

World Music Day aims to make music an art form that is more consumed by younger generations. The day is also celebrated to make the space more inclusive, to urge people to explore the various genres of music, and to be welcomed by the new generation.&nbsp;

Badshah, J Balvin and Tainy’s international hit 'Voodoo' is becoming increasingly popular with each passing day. To add to the track's massive success, international DJ Tisto and American rapper Lil Baby have shown their support by featuring on two different versions of the song. In an effort to celebrate India’s first iconic international collaboration-Voodoo a&nbsp;bunch of extremely talented graffiti artists have imprinted the iconic tie-up in the entertainment capital of India-Mumbai.&nbsp;Bringing to you the monumental feat now standing 50 feet tall, made possible by artists Wicked Broz and Man Mauji, a street artist from Delhi who joined forces to make it happen. This beast art can be found in Lal Baug.

While earlier actors used to do their own playback, the trend changed later with playback singers singing for actors. Over the years, there have been many actors who have come forth and displayed their multiple talents other than just acting on screen. Many actors are equally good at singing as they are in front of the camera. Over the years, many actors have done their own playback in Hindi films. But very few actors in Bollywood tried their vocals in other languages. On world music day, here's a look at actors who have sung in languages other than Hindi. Farhan Akhtar The super multi-talented actor-writer-filmmaker-singer Farhan Akhtar has dabbled almost in all the departments of filmmaking. Farhan debut as a director with 'Dil Chahta Hai' which further inspired him to try his hands in all the departments including singing. Farhan other than singing in English and Hindi languages also lent his voice for a Telugu film 'Bharat Ane Nenu' starring superstar Mahesh Babu. The solo song which Farhan sung goes with the title 'I don't know'. Madhuri Dixit Nene The versatile singer and dancing diva Madhuri Dixit ruled Bollywood for almost two decades. She was the reigning queen back in the '80s and '90s. Most of her films were box office hits and till date, the beautiful actress leaves everlasting impressions whenever she appears on the big screen. It was recently announced Madhuri is all set to make her international debut with a pop number. She is all set to release the first single from her English pop album by the end of the year. She has already recorded the songs for her album which will have 6 songs in English with different flavors. Richa Chadha 'Fukrey' actress Richa Chadha is not new to the music scene. The actress is also a trained singer. Last year Richa debut as a singer by lending her voice for a Punjabi pop song 'Gwandian' in collaboration with International stars Dr Zeus and Zora Randhawa. This was Richa's first Punjabi mainstream song. The song is a huge hit in weddings, especially in Punjab. Priyanka Chopra Global star Priyanka Chopra has given multiple reasons to make her fans and India to feel proud of her. Working in Bollywood for almost two decades Priyanka has tried her hands in various departments of film making. No doubt Priyanka is a fabulous actress but she also can really sing well. She made her singing debut with an English song 'In My City' in the year 2012. Since then there has been no stopping for this actress. Priyanka turned producer with a Marathi film 'Ventilator' released in 2016 for which she also lent her voice to a Marathi song for the first time. The song 'Baba' is a heart-wrenching song sung beautifully by the actress. Aditi Rao Hydari Talking about the list of actresses who tried their vocals in different languages other than Hindi let's not forget listing the beautiful actress Aditi Rao Hydari. Aditi dabbling between Bollywood and South cinema has lent her voice for a Tamil film 'Jail' last year. The actress at many occasions has displayed her singing skills leading her for a playback song in her own film. Though she is a good singer it was her first time trying her vocal cords for a Tamil song.
