<p>Kohli, who is currently holding No. 1 spot in ODI&#39;s and T20&#39;s, will now be eying the chance of reaching the zenith in the test format also.&nbsp;As per official record, Australian Captain Steve Smith is on 938 points while Kohli is on 893 points, just 45 points away from surpassing Smith&#39;s record.&nbsp;<br />

Before this Test, only 11 points separated second-ranked Cheteshwar Pujara from fifth-ranked Kohli.</p>

<p>It has begun again. Reports of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma&rsquo;s marriage is doing the rounds of the internet again. If latest reports are to be believed, the couple are all set to tie the knot next week in Italy.</p>

<p>A report in India Today states, that the wedding will be a private affair and festivities will begin from 9<sup>th</sup> December onwards in Milan.</p>

<p>Only family and very close friends of the couple are likely to attend the wedding. Sources close to the actress have stated that she is indeed going on a &lsquo;break&rsquo; for a few days. Meanwhile Virat Kohli is likely to fly to Italy tomorrow night.</p>

<p>The Indian cricket team is not going to be attending the wedding, the sources have added. The couple are likely to host a grand reception in Mumbai later this month.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Anushka&rsquo;s spokesperson has refuted the news. Speaking to PTI, she said, &ldquo;There is absolutely no truth to it (rumours of marriage).&quot;&nbsp;</p>

<p>PR Sreejesh&#39;s decision to play in Virat Kohli&#39;s charity football match might have raised a few eyebrows but India&#39;s premier hockey goalkeeper might well just get away with a reprieve, at least this time.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Indian hockey team&#39;s regular captain Sreejesh played a &#39;Celebrity Clasico&#39; in October this year in Mumbai, featuring the country&#39;s top sports and Bollywood stars, including India cricket captain Virat and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During that period Srejeesh was on a break but what went against him was that he was recuperating from a serious injury that time after being sidelined from the national team following the Azlan Shah Cup in May earlier this year.</p>

<p>There were reports that Sreejesh&#39;s action didn&#39;t go down well with the team management but he might just get away as Hockey India is yet to initiate any disciplinary action against him.</p>

<p>In May this year, Sreejesh had torn his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during the Sultan Azlan Shah tournament in Malaysia and since then he has been out of the side. India is desperately hoping for Sreejesh to recover soon especially with a busy 2018 lined up.</p>

<p>But Sreejesh&#39;s action is in serious breach of Hockey India&#39;s Code of Conduct and he faces the risk of four months suspension.</p>

<p>&quot;Sreejesh is a role model for young hockey players and his actions will leave an impact on them. Even though I don&#39;t know whose permission he took to play in the match just when he was recovering an injury, I feel he should have avoided it thinking about his own and nation&#39;s cause,&quot; the Disciplinary Committee member, said.</p>

<p>At stumps, Sri Lanka were down in the dumps at 21 for one with another 384 runs required to avoid innings defeat.</p>

<p>The Indian captain scored a majestic 213 -- his 19th hundred, en route which he broke a plethora of records in company of Rohit Sharma (102 no), who got a Test ton after four long years.</p>

Second Test match: Sri Lanka stabilise after initial jolts

<p>Indian captain Virat Kohli on Thursday complained that he and his teammates&nbsp;did not get adequate time to prepare for the South Africa series.&nbsp;</p>

<p>News agency ANI quoting the Indian skipper stated &#39;&#39;We get only two days before we fly to South Africa after this series, we have no choice but to be in the game situation. Had we got a month off, we would have done proper preparation, but right now we need to make do with what we have.&#39;&#39;</p>

<p>Kohli was addressing the pre-match press conference ahead of the second Test against Sri Lanka in Nagpur tomorrow.</p>

<p>The Indian skipper further said that he was left with no choice but to seek bouncy tracks in the ongoing series as there was hardly any time in the schedule to prepare for the trip to South Africa.</p>

<p>India would be leaving for South Africa for a series of three Tests, six ODIs and three Twenty20 Internationals, just a couple of days after the home series against Sri Lanka gets over on December 24.</p>

Virat Kohli complains of cramped schedule, BCCI takes note

<p>Virat Kohli&#39;s legendary status in world cricket grew further when the Indian captain smashed his 50th International century, which steered his side to safety in the first Test against Sri Lanka.</p>

<p>True to his aggressive demeanor and style, Kohli got to his 18th Test hundred with a flat and powerful six over extra cover off paceman Suranga Lakmal and let out a big roar, going down on his knees to celebrate the moment much like former England batsman Kevin Pietersen.</p>

<p>In the list of most number of centuries, Kohli sits at number eighth behind Brian Lara (53), Mahela Jayawardene (54), Hashim Amla (54), Jaques Kallis (62), Kumar Sangakkara (63) Ricky Ponting (71) and iconic Sachin Tendulkar (100), who is the only cricketer to get 100 international hundreds.</p>

<p>With 18 Test hundred to his name, Kohli has now gone ahead of Dilip Vengsarkar (17) but is still behind Mohammed Azharuddin (22), Virender Sehwag (23), Sunil Gavaskar (34), Rahul Dravid (36) and Tendulkar (51).</p>

<p>The Indian skipper also joined South African great Hashim Amla as the fastest to 50 centuries in International cricket in 348 innings.</p>

<p>The second in the list is Sachin Tendulkar (376 innings), who is followed by Ricky Ponting (420) and Brian Lara (465).</p>

<p>The Indian skipper, whose previous best at Eden Gardens was 45, survived an LBW decision on 72 against his first innings nemesis Suranga Lakmal and got it overturned by taking a DRS call.</p>

<p>After being circumspect against Lakmal, the Indian skipper slowly came on his own and hammered him for a six with an inside-out shot to get to the 90s.</p>

<p>Looking unperturbed, Kohli once again took on the Lankan pace spearhead with a gorgeous horizontal six over covers to raise his hundred and declared the Indian second innings at 352 for eight setting Sri Lanka a target of 231.</p>

<p>This was also his first Test hundred at the Eden Gardens as his average also shot past 50.</p>

<p>Kohli now has nine International centuries in 2017, the most by him in any year as well as the most number of ducks (five) by him in any year. His previous highest was eight centuries in 2012 and in 2014.</p>

<p>Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting had notched nine International 100s twice in 2005 and 2006, and Smith once in 2005.</p>

<p>Kohli is the also the first Indian captain to score a duck and a century in the same Test.</p>

<p>He has 21 International century as captain in 98 innings, behind South African Graeme Smith&#39;s 41 (368 innings) and Aussie great Ricky Ponting&#39;s feat of 41 (376 innings).</p>
