Once the general election is over on 5th November, the state officials will prepare a Certificate of Ascertainment listing the electors and their votes, which is sent to the National Archives and Records Administration or NARA.&nbsp;

These electors will meet on the first Tuesday after the second Wednesday in December to cast their votes for president and vice president.&nbsp;

Their votes are then recorded and sent to Congress, which counts them on January 6 at a joint session presided over by the incumbent vice president.&nbsp;

"Staying in this race all but guarantees a victory for the Dems in the race," he added.

Nick LaLota is&nbsp;the GOP primary candidate for the eastern Long Island congressional district or New York's 1st congressional district.

However, Santos, in his post, made clear that the withdrawal is only for "THIS YEAR!".

He said that it would be extremely difficult for Ukraine to survive Moscow's offensive without US aid.

For months, Republicans in Congress have been blocking military aid worth tens of billions of dollars for Ukraine.

It has been two years since Russia launched its offensive against Ukraine.

Ukraine on Sunday said that a Russian strike on the town of Gulyaipole in the southern Zaporizhzhia region claimed the lives of three people.

"Two men and a woman died under the rubble of their own private house, which was hit by a Russian shell," the head of the region, Ivan Fedorov, said on social media.

The officials, according to the news agency AFP, said that another civilian, who was a woman, was killed in the city of Kupiansk, in the northeastern Kharkiv region.

"A woman died under the rubble in an apartment on the fourth floor of a high-rise building," Ukraine's state emergency services said, adding that it was a residential building.

Authorities in Kharkiv said that Russia launched another attack on Sunday (Apr 6) which injured at least five civilians.

Meanwhile, Moscow said that Ukraine struck the dome above a shutdown reactor at the Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia nuclear station on Sunday, said the plant's Russian-installed administration.

The plant had earlier also reported attacks by Ukrainian drones.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said that it had been informed by the Russian-run plant that a drone had exploded at the site and the information was "consistent" with IAEA observations.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said both sides should refrain from actions which "jeopardise nuclear safety".

In a closed-door meeting, House of Representatives Speaker and Republican Mike Johnson told GOP lawmakers that they have managed to secure a few policy changes, including a prohibition on funding for a United Nations relief programme for Palestinian refugees&nbsp;which extends through March 2025, reported the Associated Press.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, the Democrats have secured their long-sought deal to create 12,000 new special visas for those who had worked for the US in Afghanistan.&nbsp;

A divided Congress, as of Wednesday (Mar 20) behind the scenes, struggled to produce a massive spending bill which would fund several government agencies, including defence, homeland security, and others.&nbsp;

Johnson and other House Republicans said that they hope to vote on the bill on Friday which would give the Democratic-majority Senate just hours to meet the midnight deadline.&nbsp;
