Trump is expected to wrap up his trip with a CEO roundtable at the US embassy which will be the biggest visit in terms of a gathering for a foreign leader in India. The senior adviser to the US president, Jared Kushner will also be accompanying the Trumps. Trump's presidential limousine called 'the beast' will be stopped 500 metres away from the Taj Mahal under the Supreme Court's rules on vehicular pollution near the monument. Another part of the visit to watch out for will be First Lady Melania Trump's visit to a Delhi govt school.

"Owing to security reasons, the traffic in the areas of Delhi Cantonment, Delhi-Gurgaon Road (NH 48), Dhaula Kuan, Chanakyapuri, SP Marg, RML Roundabout, and the adjoining areas during the evening hours on February 24 is likely to remain heavy," the traffic advisory said.

For February 25, the traffic advisory added, "From forenoon till around 4 pm, the traffic is likely to remain heavy in Moti Bagh, Chanakyapuri, India Gate, and areas around ITO, Delhi Gate and the adjoining areas of Central and New Delhi."

"On February 25 evening the traffic is likely to remain heavy in Chanakyapuri, RML roundabout, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi Cantonment, Delhi-Gurgaon Road (NH 48) and the adjoining areas," the advisory said.

However, there will be traffic diversions as per the ground situation for the smooth flow of traffic.

Those planning to travel to or through those areas can contact the Delhi Traffic Police website for getting updates.

A total of 108 senior police officers, including 33 Deputy Commissioners of Police and 75 Assistant Commissioners of Police besides thousands of junior officers and jawans are part of the security arrangements during US President Donald Trump`s visit to the city on February 24.

"As many as 33 Deputy Commissioners of Police, 75 Assistant Commissioners of Police, 300 Police Inspectors, 1,000 Sub-Inspectors, 12,000 jawans and 2,000 women police personnel have been deployed across the city for the upcoming visit of US President Trump," Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Ashish Bhatia said.

"Three companies of Rapid Action Force (RAF) and seven Quick Response Teams (QRT) have also been deployed. Certain morcha squads have also been deputed on various spots with the convoy. 15 Bomb Detection Squads with dogs are also posted. The Special Protection Group (SPG), Air Force and the US Secret Service are providing additional security cover," he added.

The Commissioner further informed that the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has been requested for the anti-drone system.

"We have requested the DRDO to provide anti-drone system. The public at large is directed not to use drones for any purpose," he said.

He further said that Sabarmati Ashram has been added to the visit plan, hence traffic diversions and arrangements have been increased in that area too.

He also said that there will be exemptions to the route diversions granted to certain persons according to necessity.

"There will be exemptions to the route diversions depending on the necessity like ambulance, fire-fighters," he said.

"We did some combing operations last night and some people have been detained. But I will not be able to disclose the number of detainees now," he added.

'Namaste Trump' will be similar to the landmark 'Howdy, Modi!' event hosted by the Indian-American community in honour of Prime Minister Modi during his visit to Houston in September 2019, said an official.

Trump, accompanied by wife Melania, daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner, will arrive in Ahmedabad around noon on Monday for a little less than 36-hour-long trip to India.

Massive billboards greeting US President Donald Trump ahead of his India visit and reflecting the bonhomie between him and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have come up in Agra, which is on the itinerary of the American leader.

From streets near the airport to public squares in the vicinity of the Taj Mahal, the billboards have added to the air of excitement in Agra that is eagerly expecting the arrival of Trump, who will be in the city for a couple of hours.

Trump's convoy route from the airport to the Taj Mahal is about 13 km and along the way thousands of artistes will welcome him with special performances.

On the famous Mall Road, which falls on the route, one hoarding reads 'His Excellency Donald J Trump, President of the United States of America, Heartiest Welcome to the Land of Krishna'.

It is accompanied with an image of Trump standing next to Prime Minister Modi.

Another billboard features the two leaders shaking hands and bears the message 'Welcome to the Land of Holy Rivers Yamuna and Ganga'.

According to well-placed sources, whenever the US President travels, he is accompanied by a communication system worth $ 40 million, which is almost impossible to crack and enabling US Security Forces to keep the communication of its President safe.

Apart from the communication system, there are other expensive equipment, which will also be part of the US President`s entourage.

Sources say both sides have dug their heels on a possible trade pact after the US wanted more concessions from India than promised earlier.

Adding to the scepticism around the deal, the US trade representative Robert Lighthizer skipped his visit to India last week to meet the commerce minister Piyush Goel.

Brushing aside questions on why the two sides won't be able to sign a trade pact during the visit, the MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar today said, "We have been engaging with the United States on trade talks for some time. We hope to reach an understanding with an outcome that strikes the right balance for both sides. We do not want to rush into a deal as the issues involved are complicated with many decisions potentially having a real impact on people’s lives and long-term economic consequences. We do not want to create artificial deadlines."

On possible deliverables, the MEA added, "the visit has to be seen in the context of reaching a certain stage of maturity in the relationship, regular meetings between the leaders of two democracies and the growing comfort level between our two countries. Both leaders have personally invested in this relationship."

India says it's ready to open up its dairy and farm industry to the US (despite domestic opposition) and give further import duty concessions on Harley Davidson motorcycles in return for the reinstatement of Generalised System of Preferences(GSP) for India, easing of visa rules, exemption from high duties imposed by the US on certain steel and aluminium products, and greater market access for its products from sectors such as agriculture, automobile, automobile components and engineering.

However, it looks like India will have to wait longer for anything to materialise, as <a href="https://www.wionews.com/india-news/not-in-a-hurry-for-a-trade-deal-says-india-ahead-of-trumps-visit-281638">Trump</a> announced this week that even though he "liked Prime Minister Modi," &nbsp;India had treated the US "unfairly" while announcing that the trade deal will have to wait until his November re-election.

But, both sides are looking to leverage the meet despite the trade issues.

India is planning to roll out the red carpet for the Trumps giving Agra a makeover with fresh paint and releasing fresh water into the Yamuna and promising lakhs of people in attendance of the President and the first lady.

In a statement, foreign secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said US President Donald Trump's visit would be "brief but intense with all the essential elements of a state visit with two additional legs of Ahmedabad and Agra all squeezed into 36 hours."

The President will first head to Ahmedabad, the prime minister's home constituency to jointly inaugurate the world's largest cricket stadium, the newly built Motera Cricket Stadium with a capacity of 1,10,000 visitors.

Sources say the route from the airport to the stadium will be flanked by 28 stages representing various parts of the country and its rich diversity, not to forget the Indian government has promised an audience of hundreds of thousands of cheering Indians on the way to the stadium and over a lakh inside the arena.

Inside the new stadium, President Trump and Prime Minister Modi will address a full-capacity audience, much like the "Howdy Modi" event. The route will also feature decorations depicting different events in the life of Mahatma Gandhi.

Next, President Trump and First Lady Melania will head to Agra, where the two will spend about an hour at the Taj Mahal until sunset before they depart for Delhi.

On Tuesday, the US president has all his official engagements. In the morning, President Trump and the First Lady will be accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. He will then pay his tributes at Rajghat at the samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi. It would be followed by restricted and delegation-level talks between President Trump and Prime Minister Modi at Hyderabad House.&nbsp;

India says the talks will be comprehensive and cover defence, security, counter-terrorism, as well as trade, energy, people-to-people exchanges and other bilateral matters. Prime Minister Modi would host a lunch for President Trump following the talks. The two leaders would also address the media. &nbsp;

The overall bilateral trade between the two sides has increased by over 10 per cent per annum over the past two years to reach $142 billion in 2018 and it is expected to cross $150 billion for the first time this year.&nbsp;

Also, in the last two years, the US has become India's sixth-largest source of crude oil imports, with hydrocarbon imports rising to $7 billion in the last two years.
