A Romanian court ruled on Friday that internet personality&nbsp;Andrew&nbsp;Tate&nbsp;can travel within the European Union without restrictions while he awaits trial on human trafficking charges, his lawyer said.

Tate&nbsp;was indicted in mid-2023 along with his brother, Tristan, and two Romanian women on charges of human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women, accusations they have denied.

In April this year, the Bucharest court ruled their trial can start, a decision&nbsp;Tate&nbsp;has appealed.

Pending a ruling on his appeal, the four suspects had been banned from leaving Romania, but Friday's court decision lifted the restriction for the European Union. The decision is not final and can be appealed by prosecutors.

The brothers were held in police custody during the criminal investigation from late December 2022 until April 2023 to prevent them from fleeing the country or tampering with evidence.

They were then placed under house arrest until August, when courts put them under judicial control, a lighter preventative measure.

Prosecutors said that these women were lured through false claims of relationships. The Tate brothers and the suspects have denied the accusations. They were in police custody from December 29 last year till March 31 this year before a Bucharest court put them under house arrest, which prosecutors sought to extend, Reuters reported. Now, a judge will decide Wednesday whether to prolong the detention for 30 days or replace it with a lighter measure. The trial will not start immediately. As per Romanian law, the case would be sent to the Bucharest court's preliminary chamber, where a judge has 60 days to inspect the case files to ensure legality. Trafficking of adults carries a prison sentence of up to 10 years, as does rape. For now, Romanian authorities have asked for the defendants to stay under house arrest. If found guilty, they would face years in prison, Reuters reported on Tuesday. What are the charges levelled? Tristan, a former European kickboxing champion, has been charged with instigating others into violence. Prosecutors from Romania's anti-organised crime prosecution unit (DIICOT) said the Tate brothers and the two female suspects are accused of forming an organised crime group in 2021 with a view to committing the crime of trafficking in persons on the territory of Romania, but also in other countries such as the United States (US) and the United Kingdom (UK), according to a report by the news agency AFP. The prosecutors said the crime group sexually exploited the seven victims "through acts of physical violence and psychological coercion." The victims were forced to engage in pornographic acts with a view to producing and disseminating such material via social media platforms, they added. The victims were allegedly brought to and kept on the outskirts of Bucharest. They were recruited through the "loverboy method", with Andrew and Tristan misleading them with fake feelings of love and plans for lasting partnerships. The prosecutors also said that one of the defendants - through physical violence and psychological pressure - forced one victim in March last year to "repeatedly engage in sexual relations". Though it is not known who is the defendant but a source close to the ongoing investigation told AFP the defendant was Andrew. Tuesday's indictment has also sought the confiscation of property, luxury watches, cash and cryptocurrency seized by prosecutors during the probe. Prosecutors also said they were investigating the four suspects in a separate ongoing case on allegations of money laundering, witness tampering, and child and adult trafficking. 'We embrace the opportunity...': Tate's legal team on indictment Reacting to the indictment, a spokesperson from Tate's legal team said on Tuesday, "We embrace the opportunity (a trial) presents to demonstrate their innocence and vindicate their reputation." The team also said that the case allowed to present a comprehensive body of evidence, diligently collected and prepared over time, which will undoubtedly substantiate the brothers' claims of innocence. “Tate’s legal team are prepared to cooperate fully with the appropriate authorities, presenting all necessary evidence to exonerate the brothers and expose any misinterpretations or false accusations,” Tate's spokesperson Mateea Petrescu said, the Los Angeles Times said in a report. Tate threatened with sex abuse lawsuit The fresh charges against the Tate brothers come a week after a British law firm served Andrew with legal papers, with four women threatening him with a lawsuit in the English courts over allegations of sexual assault. The women, who are now in their late 20s and early 30s, said the offences took place from 2013-16 when Andrew was living in the UK. A statement from the law firm on June 14 described the allegations as "including violent rapes, serious physical assault, and controlling and coercive behaviour." The statement added the women "put Tate on notice that, depending on his response, legal proceedings will be initiated against him at the High Court in London in the coming weeks." Three of the four women filed criminal complaints that British authorities decided to reject, the statement further said. A spokesperson for Andrew said that he categorically denied the veracity of the accusations brought by the lawyers of the anonymous women in the UK, as per the AFP report on June 14. Apart from the above, several other women in the UK are also pursuing civil claim damages from Andrew, alleging they were victims of sexual violence, as per the report by the Los Angeles Times. Their detention was again extended last week, however an appeals court, as per AFP, "rejected the prosecution's proposal to extend the pre-trial detention."

Earlier this week, the appeals court had rejected Tate's appeal to be released on bail.&nbsp;

Ramona Bolla, a spokesperson for Romania's DIICOT anti-organised crime unit told Reuters: "All four are getting out tonight."&nbsp;

According to prosecutors, Tate raped a Moldovan woman twice in Romania in March last year while seeking to enlist her in a human-trafficking operation focused on making pornography for OnlyFans, news agency Reuters reported on Thursday (February 2). The Moldovan woman, who initially thought it was love, was urged by Tate to join him in Romania. Tate first met the woman virtually on Instagram in January 2022. They met in person in London the following month and by March, the woman was in Romania, the prosecutors said. "You must understand that once you are mine, you will be mine forever," Tate told the woman on February 4 last year in one of the dozens of WhatsApp messages cited by the prosecutors. On February 9, he messaged, "Nothing bad will happen. But you have to be on my side." The above allegations and messages are part of an unpublished document dated December 30, 2022. The document gives details of the illicit business allegedly operated by Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, who is also a former professional kickboxer, Reuters reported. In the document, prosecutors said that the Tate brothers used deception and intimidation to bring six women under their control and "transform them into slaves". Eugen Vidineac, the lawyer for Andrew and Tristan, said the alleged victims were not mistreated, but "lived off the backs of the famous Tates", as per the document. Vidineac acknowledged that the Moldovan woman and Andrew had sex but it was consensual. The lawyer accused the woman of fabricating the rape claims. Two of the six women told Romanian TV station Antena3 on January 11 that they were not victims and that the Tate brothers were innocent. Antena3 identified the women by their first names Beatrice and Lasmina. "You cannot list me as a victim if I say I am not one," Beatrice told the TV station. The four women, including the Moldovan, have not issued any statements so far. Andrew Tate "has never had" a creator account on OnlyFans: Spokesperson An OnlyFans spokesperson told Reuters that Andrew Tate has never had a creator account or he received payments. The spokesperson said that OnlyFans had been monitoring the former kickboxer since last year and took "proactive measures" to stop him from posting or monetising content. The spokesperson also told the news agency that creators as a whole underwent extensive identification checks and all content was reviewed by the platform, which worked closely with law enforcement. 2022: Authorities suspect American woman was held against her will In April last year, the police raided one of the properties of the Tate brothers on the suspicion that an American woman was being held there against her will. The prosecutors said that the woman, one of the six alleged victims, met Tristan Tate online in November 2021 and then in person in Miami the following month. They added that Tristan lured the American woman to Romania by expressing "false feelings" for her and promising a serious relationship. He also paid for her travel ticket and said he could help her earn "100K a month" on OnlyFans. As per the unpublished document, Tristan picked her up at the Bucharest airport and took her back to his house, which had two armed guards. He told the woman that she was not a prisoner but the guards would not let her step outside without his permission. Tristan said it was dangerous for her to leave as he had enemies. The prosecutors pointed out that there were cameras all over the house, which the former kickboxer monitored remotely. They added that Tristan once messaged the woman that he could see where she was and what she was doing, Reuters further reported. When the American moved to another house with four girlfriends of Andrew Tate, she was allowed outside but only if accompanied by other women, the prosecutors said and added she was very afraid of the brothers.
