A fresh terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district has heightened security concerns after the Pakistan-backed terror outfit The Resistance Front (TRF) claimed responsibility and threatened more attacks targeting non-local workers in the Valley.

The death toll has risen to two after an injured migrant worker succumbed to injuries at the Government Medical College, Anantnag. The victims were among migrant workers who came under indiscriminate firing by terrorists in the Kalamaria area of Kulgam. Both deceased workers were residents of Chhattisgarh.

According to Jammu and Kashmir Police, terrorists deliberately targeted non-local workers. Security officials believe the attack was carried out by hybrid terrorists with no prior criminal records. Following the incident, security forces launched a massive search operation, cordoned off the area, and heightened security across the Valley.

The identification of the second terrorist has not been done so far.&nbsp;

A team of joint security forces had received input about the presence of terrorists in the area after which a cordon and search operation was launched.

TRF terrorists responsible for Kashmiri Pandit’s killing neutralised in Pulwama encounter

Kashmir Fight, the mouthpiece of terrorist outfit 'TRF' released a new list of journalists and politicians threatening attacks on them in the Kashmir valley. The list has been published on their blog which is backed by the terror outfit Lashkar Toiba. However, security agencies are yet to confirm the authenticity of these lists.

Earlier a list of Kashmiri Pandit government teachers threatening them with dire consequences and attacks on them had been published on the blog. A list of 56 Kashmiri Pandit teachers in the valley has gone viral along with the threatening poster. The list gives out details of the names, residential address and present place of posting of these teachers.

Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti has said that an investigation needs to be done regarding the leaking of government documents to terror organisations.

“The details of Kashmiri people have been leaked from the government offices and it's the government which is responsible for this. The government has to give a response on how the details of Kashmiri Pandits have been spread like this. And now they are being threatened,'' said Mehbooba Mufti, Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.

BJP has termed the leak of Kashmiri pandit migrant employees as a big security concern. They say those responsible for giving out details of Kashmiri Pandits need to be thoroughly investigated and out behind the bars.

Earlier a list of Kashmiri Pandit government teachers threatening them with dire consequences and attacks on them had been published on the blog. A list of 56 Kashmiri Pandit teachers in the valley has gone viral along with the threatening poster. The list gives out details of the names, residential address and present place of posting of these teachers. However, a high-level security review meeting was called by Union Secretary Ajay Bhalla to take stock of the current security situation in the valley regarding Kashmiri Pandits. The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials of Jammu Kashmir Police, Paramilitary forces and Administration. India: TRF issues new threat to journalists and politicians; high-level meeting held in Delhi

Keen to show that it is acting on terror groups, Pakistan has done what it has been doing in the past, change names of terror groups.&nbsp;

It has emerged that Lashkar-e-Taiba's name has been changed into TRF-- The Resistance Front. TRF has been involved in several attacks in the union territory of J&amp;K.

While Lashkar has been listed by the United Nations and has been banned globally, the group formed under the new name has no such ban.

"These terrorists are being pushed into Kashmir by Pakistan Army. When infiltration efforts get countered by the strong counter-infiltration grid of Indian Army, Pakistan Army resorts to the Cease Fire Violation. Experiencing these tricks in past, Indian Army constructed Anti-Infiltration Obstacle Systems and enhanced its surveillance capabilities, thereby negating the effect of firing in successfully aiding infiltration" army sources told WION.

In March, J&amp;K Police DG confirmed to WION existence of such a group. He told WION, "This TRF as a local front of Lashkar-e- Toiba was launched by Pakistan immediately after Aug 5th Abrogation of Art. 370 and so far not armed with firearms. They were involved in Grenade attacks and OGW actions only."

Intel inputs confirmed, in a bid to save itself from FATF rap, Pak changed named to TRF. This comes as Islamabad tries to convince the anti-terror financing group that it is working on the deadline to full fill its commitments.

This, "FATF has decided on a general pause in the review process for the list of high-risk jurisdictions subject to a call for action and jurisdictions subject to increased monitoring, by granting jurisdictions an additional four months for deadlines. Thus, the FATF is not reviewing them in June."

While FATF has postponed the review of Pakistan's remaining action plan items in view of Covid to September 2020, Islamabad is not off the hook. They still need to take action on the remaining action plan items by Sept.Pakistan’s 27 point Action Plan deadline had already expired in September 2019.

In Feb, Islamabad got period till June to act to either --get removed from greylist or get blacklisted. Being on FATF’s grey list has caused a loss of $10 billion to Islamabad and if Islamabad fails to take any concrete action on terror, it might be put on the blacklist.
