According to data provided by the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), major pollutants PM 2.5 was at 131 and PM 10 was at 202, in `very poor` and `moderate` categories, respectively.

&nbsp;In Lodhi Road area, PM 2.5 was at 234 while PM 10 was at 230, both of which fall in the `poor` category.

The Indian Meteorological Department on Tuesday issued a heatwave warning for the next five days after Delhi recorded the highest temperature of the season. According to the warning, the maximum temperature may shoot up to 48 degrees Celsius.

On Tuesday, Delhi temperature hit 44 degrees Celsius at around 4:30 in the evening.
