UK interior minister Suella Braverman, on Wednesday, urged people to not make any assumptions following the stabbing incident in Nottingham, central England, that claimed the lives of three people.

Her appeal came after claims were being circulated on the internet about the identity of the 31-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday.&nbsp;

"It's completely natural to seek answers immediately when something terrible happens, but it's also vital that those answers are wholly accurate," Braverman told MPs.

"Speculating out loud is never helpful and runs the risk of being counterproductive," she added. "The police have asked for patience while the inquiries continue."

The police have not yet revealed the name of the man arrested and have also not commented on his background.

Braverman assured that anti-terrorism police were helping Nottinghamshire police in the investigation, "though this does not mean that it is currently being treated as a terrorist attack".

Two students, aged 19 and a 65-year-old man were stabbed to death. The police believe that the suspect stole&nbsp;the van of the older victim and then rammed it into three other people, injuring one critically.

Police formally released the identities of the three stabbing victims as Nottingham University students Barnaby Webber and Grace Kumar, and school caretaker Ian Coates.

"We were so incredibly proud of Grace's achievements and what a truly lovely person she was. She leaves behind devastated extended family and friends," said Kumar's family.

Thousands of people came together to pay a heartfelt tribute to the victims of the horrific stabbing incident.

She further said, "We must not forget how to do things for ourselves".

"It's not xenophobic to say that mass and rapid migration is unsustainable in terms of housing supply, public services and community relations," she said.

"While illegal migration is rightly our priority given the acute challenges we face in the [English] Channel, we must not lose sight of the importance of controlling legal migration too," she added.

Braverman further stressed that there was nothing wrong about someone from an ethnic minority background making such arguments using her parents' reference as having come to the UK through 'legal and controlled migration'.

"They spoke the language. They threw themselves into the community and embraced British values. When they arrived, they signed up to be part of our shared project because the UK meant something distinct. Integration was part of the quid pro quo," she noted.

"The unexamined drive towards multiculturalism as an end in itself, combined with identity politics, is a recipe for communal disaster. We cannot have immigration without integration," she said.

Braverman claimed that she had 'voted and campaigned for' Brexit as she wanted Britain to control migration and also have a call on what works for the country and what doesn't.

"High-skilled workers support economic growth. And where the labour market has acute or structural shortages, as with the NHS, it is of course right that we should have an immigration system agile enough to plug those shortages. But we need to get overall immigration numbers down," the Brexit-backing Cabinet minister said. &nbsp;

Her speech is being viewed by many as a warning shot to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to focus more on his efforts of cutting down immigration.

“Children and young people who are groomed can be sexually abused, exploited or trafficked,” said the UK-based organisation. Children and young people can be groomed online, in person or both, by a stranger or someone they know, it added.&nbsp;

In this context, she was referring to British Pakistani grooming gangs that she said targeted “vulnerable white girls living in troubled circumstances.” The home secretary added, these girls had been abused, drugged, raped, and exploited by networks of gangs of rapists, which she claimed were “overwhelmingly” made up of British-Pakistani males, reported BBC.&nbsp;

Jay, in her report, also called for the agencies to “acknowledge the suspected model of localised grooming of young white girls by men of Pakistani heritage, instead of being inhibited by the fear of affecting community relations. People must be able to raise concerns without fear of being labelled racist.”&nbsp;&nbsp;

Similarly, earlier this year, a documentary named Grooming Gangs: Britain’s Shame also claimed that child sex abuse perpetrated by British Pakistani grooming gangs continues to take place but has been ignored by the police almost a decade after it was exposed, reported the Telegraph.&nbsp;

The director of public prosecutions, when the Rochdale gangs were prosecuted, Keir Starmer, said that while “political correctness should not get in the way” of tackling the issue we must also rely on facts. “The vast majority of sexual abuse cases do not involve those of ethnic minorities,” he added, in an interview with LBC Radio.&nbsp;

Braverman was also slammed for ignoring her own department’s evidence and broader research, “she’s choosing instead to mainstream hard-right talking points, and to push discredited stereotypes,” told Dr Ella Cockbain, associate professor of crime science at University College London to BBC Radio.

The home secretary also said how under this policy it will be made clear that anyone working with vulnerable groups and children in a safeguarding role, like teachers or social workers, “can’t get away with inaction”.&nbsp;

She added, “They have been left unchallenged both within their communities and by wider society, despite their activities being an open secret,” adding that there has been a “wilful turning of a blind eye, a failure to act and that silence has enabled this abuse”.&nbsp;

“What we've seen is a practice whereby vulnerable, white, English girls, sometimes in care, sometimes who are in challenging circumstances, being pursued and raped and drugged and harmed by gangs of British Pakistani&nbsp;men who've worked in child abuse rings or networks,” said Braverman, in an interview with Sky News.&nbsp;

Sunaks were among the people who came to be known as "twice migrants", as they first left India for Africa , and finally reached the United Kingdom later. &nbsp;

"Extremism is not only dangerous because it can lead to violence. It is dangerous in its own right. And unless we deal with it comprehensively, we should not be surprised when it continues to endure and grow — with disastrous consequences for our shared norms, values, basic rights and freedoms."

The statistics published last week also showed that there are 680,000 foreign students in the UK while the government’s 2019 Higher Education Strategy had targeted to reduce the number of overseas students to 600,000 by 2030. Notably, they achieved this target last year.&nbsp;

UK’s home secretary Suella Braverman stepped down on Wednesday just six weeks after being appointed to the post, putting the Liz Truss government in further turmoil.&nbsp;

According to reports, Braverman offered to resign after admitting to accidentally leaking national security details.&nbsp;

She is the second Cabinet minister to leave the Liz Truss government after finance minister Kwasi Kwarteng quit over the mini-budget fiasco last week.

Soon after&nbsp;Braverman's resignation, Prime Minister Liz Truss's office named&nbsp;Grant Shapps, the former transport secretary and one of Truss’s most prominent critics, as the next home secretary.

Truss's office said former transport minister Shapps had been appointed interior minister, replacing Suella Braverman who resigned earlier on Wednesday.&nbsp; 
 
Shapps told the Telegraph, "It's a great honour to be appointed as Home Secretary today. I'm looking forward to getting stuck into the role, providing the sort of security the British people need, regardless of what else is happening in Westminster. The Home Office is at the heart of that in so many ways, it's a great office of state, I'm obviously honoured to do that role."&nbsp;

Earlier, Braverman took to Twitter to explain the reason behind her resignation.

“Earlier today, I sent an official document from my personal email to a trusted parliamentary colleague as part of policy engagement, and with the aim of garnering support for government policy on migration.”

“This constitutes a technical infringement of the rules. As you know, the document was a draft Written Ministerial Statement about migration, due for publication imminently. Much of it had already been briefed to MPs. Nevertheless, it is right for me to go.”

“As soon as I realised my mistake, I rapidly reported this on official channels, and informed the Cabinet Secretary. As Home Secretary, I hold myself to the highest standards and my resignation is the right thing to do. The business of government relies upon people accepting responsibility for their mistakes.”

“Pretending we haven't made mistakes, carrying on as if everyone can't see that we have made them, and hoping that things will magically come right is not serious politics. I have made a mistake; I accept responsibility; I resign.”&nbsp;

Braverman’s departure would likely threaten the stability of the Conservative government, which has been striving to put up a brave face following mini-budget U-turns and economic turmoil.

Last week, Braverman, the Indian-origin former minister, stoked a controversy when she said that a trade deal with India would increase migration to the UK when Indians already represented the largest group of visa overstayers.

“I have concerns about having an open borders migration policy with India because I don’t think that’s what people voted for with Brexit,” Braverman had told The Spectator weekly news magazine.
