<p>Coming to DC’s new CEO’s defense, Zachary said we shoukd give them “time to make something special.” “You have no idea the reasonings behind any of the decisions that are going on. The amount of conjecture and rumour mill and drama and nonsense that keeps getting spun around out there on Instagram and Twitter is laughable. It is unbelievably laughable.”</p>

<p>He added, “So I would just say be patient, and give them some space and some time to try and really make something special. And I think something that DC deserves to have, and something that [Zack] Snyder tried to do and it just didn’t ultimately materialise, guys.”</p>

<p>Zachary also said that they are “not just making decisions because they like someone or don’t like someone. They’re making decisions based on what is best for Warner Bros., DC, that entire studio and entity and trying to make as many fans, as much of an audience, happy as they can. If you’re out there and really like what happened before, you can do that, that’s fine. But realise that there’s a lot of people who didn’t like those things, and we should always be trying to tap into as much audience as possible, make as many people happy as possible. That’s what we’re in entertainment for, and that’s what I think Peter and James are trying to do. And it’s not an easy position, they got handed all these things that were already in a lot of conflict. So guys, just fucking give ’em a break. Take it easy. Take a breath. It’s the holidays, for god’s sake. Just go enjoy what the holidays are, give them some time to enjoy the holidays, and let’s see what happens on the other side of this.”</p>

However, when &nbsp;Johnson saw the first draft of the film, he realised Black Adam deserved a separate film. Speaking to Vanity Fair magazine, Johnson said, "When the first draft of the movie came to us, it was a combination of Black Adam and Shazam: Two origin stories in one movie."<br />

"Now that was the goal, so it wasn't a complete surprise. But when I read that, I just knew in my gut, 'We can`t make this movie like this. We would be doing Black Adam an incredible disservice.' It would've been fine for Shazam having two origin stories converge in one movie, but not good for Black Adam," he added.<br />

Revealing how he fixed the situation, Johnson continued, "I made a phone call. I said, 'I have to share my thoughts here. It`s very unpopular...` because everybody thought, 'Hey, this script is great, let's go make this movie.' I said, 'I really think that you should make 'Shazam!,' make that movie on its own in the tone that you want. And I think we should separate this as well.`"<br />

Fortunately Warner Bros agreed to listen to Johnson and now the actor is all set to play the lead in the upcoming standalone 'Black Adam' tentpole this fall.&nbsp;<br />

In the final minutes, Shazam even convinces Superman to come to Billy’s high school to show up a couple of bullies who were making life hard for Billy’s best friend, Freddy (Jack Dylan Grazer). <p>The final newcomer this weekend was 'Best of Enemies,'&nbsp;starring Taraji P. Henson and Sam Rockwell as a civil rights activist and a KKK leader forced to work together. It pulled in an underwhelming $4.5 million from 1,705 screens. Astute Films fully financed the film, which was distributed by STXfilms. Older moviegoers aren't generally a demographic that rushes out to see a movie on opening weekend, so the studio anticipates that word of mouth about the feel-good drama will grow in the coming weeks, leading to a long life in theatres. Nearly 80 per cent of moviegoers were over the age of 25, and 63 per cent were female.</p>

<p>A number of holdovers filled out North American box office charts. In third place, Disney's re-imagining of 'Dumbo'&nbsp;earned $18.2 million in its sophomore outing, marking a steep 60 per cent drop from its debut. Overall, ticket sales are still pacing around 16 per cent behind last year, according to Comscore. That gap is shrinking as films like 'Captain Marvel' and 'Us' impress audiences, and Marvel's 'Avengers: Endgame,' the studio's epic conclusion that is expected to shatter records, could help close that margin even more.
