Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan was booked by Tamil Nadu police on Wednesday for violating the probationary orders in the violence-hit Tuticorin.

An FIR was registered against Haasan, along with 20 members of his outfit Makkal Needhi Maiam, for breaching Section 144 CrPC -- which bars the gathering of four or more people.

Haasan and his supporters visited the hospital in Tuticorin where the anti-Sterilite protesters, injured in police action on Tuesday, are being treated.

Speaking to reporters outside the hospital, Haasan said he would take the agitation to Chennai as well and seek accountability from the AIADMK government.

"We must know who ordered this firing. It is not me but the victims who are demanding this. Merely announcing compensation is not a solution," Haasan said, adding that Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami should resign on moral grounds.

In the police-firing on Tuesday, 11 protesters lost their lives and more than a dozen were left injured. CM Palaniswami has ordered a judicial inquiry into the incident.

The prime Opposition, DMK, has sought his immediate resignation from the post. "This Chief Minister is responsible for something as worse as the Jallianwala Bagh incident," said party's de facto chief MK Stalin.

The Congress, meanwhile, targeted the Centre apart from the state government for the death of protesters. "This government is acting on behalf of the BJP-RSS. The people of Tamil Nadu will not allow their ideology to be murdered by the RSS," party president Rahul Gandhi said.

According to reports, Babul Supriyo was stopped by police while he was driving through Kalyanpur to reach Asansol. Following an argument between him and police, Supriyo assaulted an IPS officer.

Meanwhile, a counter FIR has also been filed by the minister against the IPS officer for assaulting him despite the warning of to not 'touch him physically'.

Supriyo was going there to take the stock of the situation which arrived from the violence in the state.

Reports say that he was barred from entering the area by police citing security reasons.

Internet services were also barred in Asansol and Ranigunj by the state government.

According to news reports, the internet services restrictions will remain in effect till March 30.

One villager was killed in a clash between locals and police during a Ram Navami procession in Beldi village in Purulia, West Bengal.&nbsp

The Rama Rajya Rath Yatra organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad&nbsp;in Ayodhya reached Tirunelveli&nbsp;on Tuesday.

Tamil Nadu government has already imposed Section 144 in Tirunelveli after reports&nbsp;emerged indicating that some miscreants were planning to instigate violence and spread communal tension during the yatra.

The section had been imposed on March 19 and will continue till 6 am&nbsp;March 23.

An order by government officials indicated on a serious and grave possibility of public order disturbance and communal clash in the district in the wake of Ram Rajya Rath Yatra.

Over hundreds of police have also been deployed at nearby places to prevent any possible violence.

The &quot;Ram Rajya Rath Yatra&quot; was started on February 13.

The Yatra will eventually proceed to Rameswaram via Rajapalayam and Madurai.

&nbsp;Several parties including DMK, MDMK, VCK, NTK and others had been asking the government to&nbsp;deny&nbsp;permission to&nbsp;the Yatra.&nbsp;
