Expressing solidarity with the government, the Association said, "...We have to ensure that Government of India takes concrete actions and ensure that strict restrictions are imposed on such terrorist funding nations like Pakistan, the entire nation of 1.3 billion is with you in fighting with this terror sponsor perpetrators of Pakistan." It added, "Entire Film fraternity is proud of Indian Air Force, Government of India for displaying such a courageous and responsible retaliation in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and we hope that Government of India continues to do so."

Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir hail India Air Force for destroying terror camps across LoC

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday said that India cannot defeat Pakistan if the central government does not form a long-term strategy to safeguard the country's borders.

Akhilesh on Sunday met the family of Ajit Kumar, a CRPF jawan, who lost his life during the Pulwama terror attack on February 14.

Asked why Opposition leaders were are now pointing fingers at the central government even when they agreed to stand united with the Centre over the issue of national security, Akhilesh told media, "The Opposition stands united (with the central government) in teaching a lesson to Pakistan. But the government should not forget that China is with them (Pakistan). We feel that the government should have a long term strategy to safeguard our borders and make the country strong. If long term strategy won't be adopted then you can't defeat Pakistan."

Talking about Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman recent visit to India, Akhilesh said, "Recently media showed how a Crown Prince first visited Pakistan and helped them. Then he came to India and hugged Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Later he went to China. In today's times, the role of neighbouring countries matters... BJP leaders are the most 'milawati'."

Akhilesh also urged the central government to give Rs 1 crore to the families of all the CRPF jawans, who lost their lives in the Pulwama terror attack.

"The government should fulfill its promises given to the jawans. Most of the state governments have given Rs 1 crore to the families of CRPF jawans killed in Pulwama attack. The Uttar Pradesh and central government should also do the same and give Rs 1 crore to them," he said.

All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday called out Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to drop his ‘mask of innocence’ while criticising the Pakistan government for its role in the Pulwama terror attack.

Till Muslims of this country are alive, Azaan will sound from mosques and bells will ring in temples. This is the beauty of our country which the neighbouring country sees with jealousy. People in this country live as one and when it will come to the country we all will be together,” Owaisi said.

Owaisi also lambasted terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed for its role in the dastardly terror attack and opined that a disciple of Mohammed would never kill a person.

“I want to clearly say as a citizen of India, that this dastardly attack has links to Pakistan. It was done as per plan of Pakistan government, Pakistan Army and ISI. I would like to tell the outfit that killed our 40 men and claimed its responsibility - you`re not Jaish-e-Mohammed, you are Jaish-e-Shayateen. You are Jaish-e-Shayateen, Jaish-e-Iblis. Masood Azhar, you are not a Maulana, you are a disciple of the devil. It is not Laskhar-e-Taiba, it is Lashkar-e-Shayateen.”

In a letter written to Chief Secretaries of all states and Union Territories by MHA’s Department of Jammu and Kashmir Affairs, Director Beena Yadav said, “The Government is concerned at the reports of incidents of assaults and harassment against residents of Jammu and Kashmir, especially students in some parts of the country, in the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack of February&nbsp;14, 2019. In this regard, an Advisory dated February, 16 was issued to all State Governments and Union Territory Administration to take necessary steps to ensure safety and security of the persons belonging to Jammu and Kashmir.”

The government order also cited a <a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/supreme-court-directs-chief-secretaries-dgps-of-11-states-to-take-action-against-assault-on-kashmiris-post-pulwama-198894">Supreme Court directive</a> issued on Friday in this regard and said that the state and UT administration and the nodal officers appointed by them must take all necessary steps to prevent any act of assault, threat, intimidation and social boycott against Kashmiris as well as minorities in accordance with the apex court’s order.

The MHA has also asked the states and UTs to give wide publicity to the names of nodal officers appointed in the states.

Nodal officers were appointed by various states to look into the issue following an advisory by the Centre.

While downloading them, it is possible that some virus can enter the computer. Someone may hack your computer and misuse it. You buy songs from the market or pay to download, free downloads are dangerous”, he said.

Outlining further as to how such websites and mobile application can lead to covert leakage of information, he added.

"Smartphone’s have camera, recorder, microphone, GPS. These can be activated by malware or virus. You won’t even know will get your phone on the table will get its microphone activated and your conversation is recorded.”

33 million acre-feet (MAF) of the three rivers are allocated to India for exclusive use. India has the full right to waters from the three eastern rivers under the Indus Water Treaty signed in 1960 between former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and former Pak President Ayub Khan.&nbsp;

Currently, about 2 MAF of water flows unutilized to Pakistan from river Ravi.&nbsp;

Shahpurkandi project

The Shahpurkandi project will help utilize water from Ranjit Sagar Dam on river Ravi and will help irrigate 37,000 hectares of land in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. It will also help generate 206 MW of power.

It was to be completed by September 2016 but due to a disagreement between Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab government, the project was suspended. On September 8, both the states came to an agreement and the project's construction was resumed.

Ujh multipurpose project

The project is on river Ujh which is a tributary of Ravi river and will create storage of 781 million cubic meters and is expected to irrigate 31,380 ha of Kathua, Hiranagar and Samba districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The project was approved in July 2017 at the total cost of Rs 5850 crore.

The project involves constructing a barrage on Ravi river for diverting water through a tunnel link to Beas basin. This will help India tap excess water flowing to Pakistan from Ravi even after constructing the Ranjit Sagar dam.

Sources said, "This diplomatic campaign has seen a specific thrust at the United Nations with the Security Council's condemnation of the attack. India worked behind the scenes and at the FATF where a current review of Pakistan's status as a country sponsoring and abetting terrorism is under review." Pakistan was put on the FATF grey list last year which means the country comes under financial jurisdiction with “structural deficiencies” in anti-money laundering (AML) and combating financing of terrorism (CFT) -- simply put, for supporting financing of terror.

The ISI has been using such organisations to carry out Pakistan’s objectives, mainly in India, but also in Afghanistan and Iran.&nbsp;

In India, the main aim is to wrest away the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir by terror and force, while in Afghanistan it is to have a client government, which will carry out the bidding of Islamabad and provide it with strategic depth in a possible conflict with India.&nbsp;

The Jaish-e-Mohammed in general and Masood Azhar, in particular, have been considered as strategic assets and very important to Pakistan’s regional aspirations.&nbsp;

Unlike foot soldiers, who take the risk of entering India by crossing the Line of Control (LOC), Masood Azhar was sent to India on a Portuguese passport and arrived in Delhi from Dhaka in 1993 pretending to be Adam Issa, a Portuguese of Gujarati descent.&nbsp;

In February 1994, he and Sajjad Afghani, the then Chief Commander of Harkat-ul-Ansar were captured by the J&amp;K police near Anantnag, South Kashmir.&nbsp;

Pakistan almost immediately started making attempts to free him. In June that year, two British nationals – Kim Housego and David Mackie — were kidnapped for the same purpose. However, Kim’s father, David Housego, who was the Financial Times New Delhi correspondent, was able to use his contacts in the UK and the USA to secure the release of these two without harm after a 17- day custody.&nbsp;

In October 1994, a Britisher of Pakistani descent, Ahmed Omar Sheikh, was sent from England and he successfully kidnapped three Britishers and an American from the backpackers paradise of Paharganj, New Delhi, to force the government of India to release Masood Azhar.&nbsp;

However, this plan did not succeed as the UP police were able to rescue the hostages from Ghaziabad, UP. Two policemen and a terrorist were killed in this rescue operation, but all the tourists were freed unhurt. Ahmed Omar Sheikh was sent to Tihar jail where he remained till December 1999.&nbsp;

The infamous hijacking of IC 814 from Kathmandu was also done for the same purpose and the ISI finally succeeded in getting Masood Azhar, Ahmed Omar Sheikh and a small time Kashmiri youth Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar freed in December 1999.&nbsp;

Zargar’s family ran a small shop called Latrum store in downtown Srinagar and he was added to the list of those to be released only to give a Kashmiri touch to the entire episode.

It should be borne in mind that Pakistan has never been a friend of the Kashmiris and distrusts them thoroughly. However, it covets their land for its strategic location and water resources.&nbsp;

Pakistan does not have any border with China except through Gilgit-Baltistan, a part of J&amp;K, which has been under its illegal occupation since 1947. The people living here do not have any political or human rights and the original Shia inhabitants are now a minority due to the settling of Pathan and Afghan refugees and presence of thousands of Chinese for construction activity along the Karakoram highway.&nbsp;

The fight, against terrorism and militancy, is being fought primarily by the Jammu and Kashmir police since 1988. The Army, BSF, CRPF and other security agencies are playing a very significant role, but it is the J&amp;K police which bears the brunt of the attacks and is usually the first responder to any terrorist attack.&nbsp;

Similarly, a large chunk of the Kashmiri population is pro India, but not very vocal about it.&nbsp;

The Pulwama attack poses a serious challenge to India and cannot be allowed to go unanswered. Not just the perpetrators, but also their handlers and masters in GHQ, Rawalpindi, have to be brought to book through all available means at the disposal of the Indian government.&nbsp;

Just as the Jaish-e-Mohammed is an auxiliary of Pakistan, stone pelters and those who interfere in anti-terror operations are their auxiliaries and must be dealt with sternly.&nbsp;

However, the rest of the Kashmiri population must be treated with honour and respect. This calls for careful calibration of the security forces response and J&amp;K police can play a major role in that. &nbsp;

There have been unanimous parliamentary resolutions asserting that the whole of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. The Indian state must work resolutely to make that happen.

Latif argued that the notification was "unlawful" as it was not approved by the federal cabinet, which was mandatory under a Supreme Court judgment.

Citing the Supreme Court's recent order to the federal government to take strict action against airing of Indian content on television channels, the petitioner requested the court to set aside the "impugned notification" of January 2017 for being unlawful and direct the administration to impose a complete ban on exhibition of Indian films and other content.

The Supreme Court Friday directed chief secretaries and DGPs of 11 states to take "prompt" and necessary action to prevent incidents of threat, assault and social boycott of Kashmiris in the aftermath of the <a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/members-of-council-condemn-heinous-and-cowardly-suicide-bombing-unsc-on-pulwama-terror-attack-198830">Pulwama terror attack</a>.&nbsp;

A bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi also directed that police officers, who were earlier appointed as nodal officers to deal with incidents of mob lynching, would be now responsible to deal with cases of alleged assault on Kashmiris. The bench asked the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to give wide publicity to nodal officers so that they can be approached by those facing such incidents. Supreme Court directs authorities of 11 states to take action against assault on Kashmiris post Pulwama

The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested two alleged Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists from Uttar Pradesh on Friday.

The arrest was made after the ATS wing received inputs about two suspicious men.

Director General of Police O P Singh said that the arrests were made from Deoband in Saharanpur district and the two men were identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Teli from Kulgam and Aquib Ahmad Malik from Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir.&nbsp;

The DGP also said that both the men were involved in recruiting members for the JeM.

Out of the two arrestees, one is said to be a grenade expert, the DGP added.

"Of the two Shahnawaz is said to be a grenade expert. We will seek transit remand and investigate when they came here from Kashmir and who is funding them and what was their target. We are in touch with Jammu and Kashmir Police, " the DGP said. 
 
Asked whether the two men were involved in the February 14 Pulwama terror attack, Singh said, "It's difficult to tell whether they came here before the Pulwama attack or after that. The probe is on."&nbsp;
