Several parents are now hitting back at the series alleging that it has a bad influence on their children. Speaking to The Times, a 33-year-old mother of two from Houston, Texas, Kayla Tychsen, claimed that Peppa isn’t an accurate representation of how children should behave.<br />

“Some argue that Peppa is just like any other four-year-old. I think that’s probably true. Four-year-olds can be rude and demanding and whiny,” she said. “But, for me, the issue is that I don’t want to be modeling that behaviour for my children.”</p>

Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, mother Armita Asgari, discussed how her child’s reactions to food have changed ever since she exposed him to Peppa Pig.&nbsp;<br />

Peppa and George frequently say “yuck”, with British accents, in&nbsp;different situations.&nbsp;Asgari states her son Lucas too now says, "Ew! Yuck,” when presented with new foods.&nbsp;<br />

Asgari also pointed out how her son's behaviour changed for his neighbour's kid. “He said, ‘Look, David’s got a big tummy! That was when I realised he had picked up all these behaviours from Peppa Pig,’” she said while calling Peppa Pig “a brat”.<br />

In the show, Peppa is often seen poking fun at her father Daddy Pig’s weight. In a 2017 episode that faced immense backlash, Peppa’s password for her treehouse was, “Daddy’s big tummy”. <p>Days after the popular children's TV show Peppa Pig made history by introducing its first same-sex couple, an Italian political leader demanded an immediate ban on the cartoon series.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Reportedly, Federico Mollicone, a senior leader of Brothers of Italy, a far-right Italian political party, stated that it would be 'unacceptable' to air the episode in Italy and appealed to the state broadcaster 'Rai' to ban the same.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“We cannot accept gender indoctrination. Once again the politically correct has struck, at the expense of our children. Can’t children just be children?” said Mollicone.</p>

<p>“We ask Rai, which buys the rights to the Peppa Pig series in Italy with a fee from all Italians, not to broadcast the episode in question on any channel or web platform,” he further added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It is pertinent to note that Mollicone's party is touted to win the upcoming elections.&nbsp;Giorgia Meloni, the top leader of Brothers of Italy is against same-sex parenting as well as marriage.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Thus, even if the state broadcasters do not remove the episode right away, it would be taken off when the party assumes power.</p>

<p><strong>The episode has already aired in the UK</strong></p>

<p>As reported by WION, an episode titled 'Families'&nbsp;aired for the first time in the UK on Tuesday, showed two co-parenting same-sex polar bears. It was for the first time in the show's 18-year long history that an LGTBQ+ couple had found a mention.</p>

<p>"I'm Penny Polar Bear. I live with my mummy and my other mummy. One mummy is a doctor and one mummy cooks spaghetti. I love spaghetti," announces&nbsp;Penny.&nbsp;</p>

Reportedly, Federico Mollicone, a senior leader of Brothers of Italy, a far-right Italian political party, stated that it would be 'unacceptable' to air the episode in Italy and appealed to the state broadcaster 'Rai' to ban the same. “We cannot accept gender indoctrination. Once again the politically correct has struck, at the expense of our children. Can’t children just be children?” said Mollicone. “We ask Rai, which buys the rights to the Peppa Pig series in Italy with a fee from all Italians, not to broadcast the episode in question on any channel or web platform,” he further added. It is pertinent to note that Mollicone's party is touted to win the upcoming elections. Giorgia Meloni, the top leader of Brothers of Italy is against same-sex parenting as well as marriage. Thus, even if the state broadcasters do not remove the episode right away, it would be taken off when the party assumes power. <p>US toymaker Hasbro announced Thursday that it is acquiring studio Entertainment One, which owns popular cartoon series 'Peppa Pig'&nbsp;among other children's content, for approximately $4 billion.</p>

<p>Under the all-cash transaction, Entertainment One shareholders will receive 5.6 pounds ($6.86) per share, according to a statement from Hasbro.</p>

<p>In addition to Peppa Pig, the popular swine with a British accent who loves jumping in muddy puddles, the purchase includes the successful children's cartoon 'PJ Masks,'&nbsp;about a trio of young friends who become superheroes at night.</p>

<p>"The acquisition of highly profitable and merchandisable preschool brands is a strategic growth opportunity for Hasbro," the company said.</p>

<p>'Peppa Pig'&nbsp;has extended itself to new profit streams that continue its success, it added.</p>

<p>Meanwhile 'PJ Masks'&nbsp;growth outlook "is supported by new formats, its current rollout in China, the launch of new seasons in multiple regions, a live touring event and new toy lines."</p>

<p>Hasbro is additionally banking on the success of the launch of yet another Entertainment One character, Ricky Zoom, a little red rescue bike, which it calls a "unique storyline with highly merchandisable content."</p>

<p>The cartoon will launch on September 9 on US children's network Nickelodeon, and in other major markets.</p>

<p>Hasbro plans for the acquisition to save it $130 million through in-sourcing and other synergies by the year 2022.</p>

<p>Three quarters of the acquisition will be carried out with the proceeds of debt financing thanks to a loan of just under a year from Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Approximately $1-$1.25 billion will be financed in cash.</p>

<p>Hasbro said it is committed to doing everything within its power to maintain an investment-grade rating.</p>
