Bowling veteran Wasim Akram was unhappy with the reception Pakistan’s emerging star Razaullah received upon his arrival in Pakistan. Pakistan lost to England 3-0 in the three-match Test series, and Razaullah, who made his Test debut in the final Test at Edgbaston, sparked some hope with his late blitz with the bat in the second innings. Although Razaullah smashed his career-best 81, including nine sixes, in his only Test appearance, he and Pakistan’s pace attack failed to defend the modest target as England completed the run chase and won the match and the series. Pakistan cricket faces fresh turmoil after its three senior players: keeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, opener Imam-ul-Haq and middle-order batter Salman Ali Agha, were reported for behavioural issues within the dressing room. These three players, alongside four others and two coaches, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Umar Gul, were all sent home after Pakistan lost the second Test at Lord’s and conceded the three-match series 2-0, with one game to play. While their lean form remained the prime factor in their exit midway through the tour, behavioural issues made things worse for the trio. Salman Agha captained Pakistan in the series opener at Headingley in Babar Azam’s absence, out with a finger injury. In a major shake-up in Pakistan Cricket following the Lord’s Test loss against England, the PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi is set to remove the country’s chief selector Aaqib Javed as part of a ‘wider clean-up’ exercise. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) turned to job-hunting giant LinkedIn in search of its new fielding coach. The move comes less than a week after the PCB formally opened applications following Shane McDermott’s departure, and arrives amidst a major Test squad shake-up. Pakistan dropped seven squad players midway through the series and released two coaches. All those dropped and released were sent home after Pakistan conceded the three-match series. The PCB posted the opening for the fielding coach position across formats on LinkedIn on Monday, writing, “The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is seeking an experienced and skilled Fielding Coach to join the Pakistan Men’s National Cricket Team. The Fielding Coach will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing the fielding skills of Pakistan National Team Players.” The post, however, instantly went viral on social media, with the recruitment manner drawing attention, as such an appeal from a cricket board for that position is unusual. Like every corporate or IT job opening, the PCB laid out the requirements. Those applying for the job must hold at least a Level II cricket coaching qualification and have a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role. Candidates must also have worked with elite cricketers, national and international teams and franchise sides. The cricket board also emphasised that the role would go beyond usual fielding drills, with candidates expected to have a deep understanding of game analysis and player development. Those interested in the role must also have experience in monitoring and evaluating systems and processes used at the top level to develop modern fielding techniques.

The last date for applying is September 9 through PCB’s official website.
Widespread Squad Shake-Up
After losing the second Test at Lord’s, the PCB made ground-breaking changes to the travelling entourage. Pakistan drop 7 players, release coaches after Lord’s Test loss to England

Pakistan are set to start their three-Test series in England on Wednesday (Aug 19) in Leeds but skipper Babar Azam's participation remains doubtful. Babar, who had recently taken over Test captaincy from Shaan Masood, is nursing an impact injury on right hand. Pakistan will be making a late selection call about Babar's participation and will follow the medical advice Mohammad Abbas during a press conference after the team arrived in Leeds of Monday (Aug 17). Along with Babar, Shan Masood is also recovering from an injury, leaving him doubtful as well.
What happened to Babar Azam?
Babar had suffered an impact injury on his right hand during the second Test of recently-concluded series against West Indies. He, nonetheless, took part in Pakistan's warm match against Professional County Club Select XI in Beckenham. The batter was unlucky again to get hit on the same hand, prompting him to get retired hurt and not take any further part in the match, which a PCB statement called "precautionary measure."Also Read - IND vs SL: Jadeja joins elite club with 4,000 Test runs and 350 wicketsSpeaking on Babar's participation in the first Test, Abbas confirmed during the press conference that "whether he plays or not will be a decision taken on match day.""He did a few throwdowns and some batting practice today. ENG vs PAK: Who will lead Pakistan? Babar Azam's injury threatens participation in opening Test

Former Pakistan captain and talismanic keeper Rashid Latif has a strange suggestion for the PCB and the Test skipper Babar Azam ahead of the three-match Test series against England starting August 19. Latif feels the PCB should be smart and not send Babar for the pressers, and instead have the batting mainstay Shan Masood handle the media briefings. While Masood is arguably the most fluent English speaker in the squad, Latif’s logic goes beyond language—he fears the British media will try to create controversial headlines that could put Babar under undue pressure. “An England tour is a difficult assignment, and the English media often tries to unnecessarily involve visiting teams in news stories,” Rashid said on Geo News’ Score. “Babar Azam is an experienced player, so it would be better for the PCB management to keep him away from the English media and send former captain Shan Masood to speak to them more often.
