Other bank officials added that they have been&nbsp;planning new notes to commemorate Ukraine's victory for a few months. It took them eight months to design and produce this note. The bank plans a series of such commemorative notes to provide a visual of the war.&nbsp;

"During this year, Ukrainians have realised their force, their significance, their ability not only to withstand but also to win, to win without forgiving a single military crime, a single ruined house," the governor said. "This victory will be at a very high price but it will happen and it will be ours."

The central bank has been working hard and non-stop since the full-scale invasion on Feb 24, to keep the country afloat and maintain its stability.&nbsp;

Thanks to the billion-dollar aid from Ukraine's western partners, which had helped its hard currency reserve to grow to almost $30 billion, slightly higher than at the beginning of the war.&nbsp;

As Ukraine marks one year of a fierce fight against Russia's invasion, King Charles III sent a message for the war-torn nation on Friday (February 24). Ukrainians, he said, have suffered unimaginably from an unprovoked full-scale attack on their nation yet they "have shown truly remarkable courage and resilience in the face of such human tragedy". He recalled his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Buckingham Palace earlier this year when he could express his "personal support".&nbsp; The United Kingdom, he stressed, is doing "everything possible" to help Kyiv, along with its allies at this difficult time.

With the conflict entering the second year, an emotional Zelensky on Friday held back his tears as he acknowledged efforts by the war heroes. "I want to say to all of you who are fighting for Ukraine...I am proud of you. We all, each and every one, are proud of you!" he was quoted as saying by news agency Reuters.&nbsp; "...We are strong. We are ready for anything. We will defeat everyone. This is how it began on February 24, 2022. The longest day of our lives. The most difficult day in our recent history. We woke up early and haven't slept since," Zelensky further said.

World leaders have condemned the violence on the first year anniversary. US President Joe Biden made a surprise visit to the country earlier this week in a strong message to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Around 18 million people are in dire need of humanitarian assistance, he said, as the country faces electricity and water shortages during the cold winter months. “These numbers, which we are publishing today, lay bare the loss and suffering inflicted on people since Russia’s armed attack began on 24 February last year; suffering I saw for myself first hand when I visited Ukraine in December. And our data are only the tip of the iceberg," Türk was quoted as saying in a official statement as he described the toll on civilians as "unbearable".

Around 90.3 per cent of civilian casualties have been caused by explosive weapons with wide area effects, including artillery shells, cruise and ballistic missiles, and air strikes. A majority of these strikes took place in populated areas. The casualties are likely much higher.

“The very young to the very old have all been affected. Students have seen their education halted or disrupted by attacks on educational facilities, while older people and people with disabilities have faced immense challenges, in some cases unable to reach bomb shelters or having to spend prolonged periods in basements in conditions affecting their health," the UN Human Rights Chief said. Many civilians were killed when they were performing daily tasks, such as collecting water and buying food."

“This senseless war has reverberated across the world. Higher costs of food and fuel as a result have deepened misery on a global scale, especially among those who were already the most vulnerable.&nbsp;
