Delhi government on Sunday announced that schools in the national capital will remain closed for students from nursery to fifth grade. Minister of Education of Delhi Atishi Marlena, said in a post on X, "Schools in Delhi will remain closed for the next 5 days due to the prevailing cold weather conditions, for students from Nursery to Class 5.

As the cold wave continues to tighten its grip over North India, the dense fog situation in Delhi has seen no improvement. At least 26 trains arrived late in the national capital due to fog on January 4, according to Indian Railways.
