The raids in Rajouri were carried out based on information from Hakam Khan, also known as Hakin Din, a major suspect apprehended on June 19 in the terror incident.&nbsp;

In its preliminary investigation, the NIA revealed that Din supposedly gave the terrorists shelter, food, and logistical help.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi Mohita Sharma said that Din not only provided shelter to the assailants but also enabled their movements.

"The arrested person is a prime militant associate who helped the terrorists in the execution of the attack. Further interrogation and investigation of the case is going on," she said.

Following a spate of terror incidents in June in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi assessed the security situation in the Union territory.&nbsp;

The government is "seriously" concerned about the recent terror incidents, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and no effort would be spared to get to the bottom of this investigation.

"The enemies of peace and humanity are not happy with the development in Jammu and Kashmir. There were some terror attacks recently... the government has taken it seriously. The Home Minister, with the J&amp;K Administration, has reviewed the situation," PM Modi said.

Reasi terror attack: NIA raids multiple locations in Jammu & Kashmir’s Rajouri

During a raid conducted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the East Medinipur district of West Bengal on Saturday (Apr 6), officers of the agency were attacked by locals&nbsp; and one of them sustained injuries.&nbsp;&nbsp;

This tumultuous turn of events took place during the operation when the officers sought to arrest the suspects involved in the 2022 Bhupatinagar bomb blast case.

The explosion at the time killed three individuals in Naruabilla village. It is pertinent to note that initially the case was investigated by the West Bengal Police but was later transferred to the NIA.

The transfer of the case to NIA took place following a petition urging the inclusion of relevant sections of the Explosive Substances Act, which was earlier not initiated. The plea was filed in the Calcutta High Court.

NIA nabbed Manobrata Jana and Balai Charan Maity who were allegedly involved in a conspiracy to manufacture and detonate crude bombs.&nbsp;

When the NIA team reached to arrest the two, they encountered resistance from locals and women of the region leading to one NIA officer sustaining injuries.

The arrest came after extensive searches at five different locations. The search was also carried out at Jana's residence.

When the team was scurrying through the area, the officials&nbsp;faced unexpected and "stiff resistance" from an "unruly" mob. Later, the situation rapidly deteriorated as the mob assaulted NIA officers.

The people also caused damage to property and attacked a vehicle's windscreen.&nbsp;

Bengaluru prison radicalisation case: NIA launches 17 raids in 7 Indian states

In a major crackdown against gangster syndicate, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) launchred searches at over 8 locations across several states on Tuesday.

The NIA&nbsp;members along with Jammu and Kashmir police and paramilitary&nbsp;forces carried out the raids in North Kashmir's Baramulla District, South Kashmir's Pulwama and Shopian districts and one location in Jammu district.&nbsp;

NIA&nbsp;raided locations across J&amp;K in connection with the terror conspiracy hatched and operationalised by the offshoots of the banned Pakistan-backed terrorist organisations, such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al-Badr, Al-Qaeda, etc.

Teams of NIA cracked down on eight locations in the seven districts of Poonch, Shopian, Pulwama, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kupwara and Srinagar in J&amp;K.

According to NIA, "The locations raided today were residential premises of hybrid terrorists and Overground Workers (OGWs) associated with the newly formed affiliates and offshoots of the banned terrorist outfits."

"Extensive searches were also conducted at the premises of the cadres and sympathisers of these newly floated organisations, which included The Resistance Front (TRF), United Liberation Front Jammu &amp; Kashmir (ULFJ&amp;K), Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), Jammu &amp; Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF), Kashmir Tigers, PAAF, among others," NIA added.&nbsp;

NIA said that the searches led to the seizure of several digital devices containing large volumes of incriminating data and documents. The conspiracy of the recently launched offshoots of the banned terror outfits to destabilize J&amp;K through violent terrorist attacks and activities.

NIA had registered the case (RC-05/2022/NIA/JMU) suo moto on June 21, 2022, to probe the involvement of the cadres, OGWs and other suspects of the new outfits in the collection and distribution of sticky bombs/magnetic bombs, IEDs, funds, narcotic substances and arms/ammunition to spread terror, violence and subversion in J&amp;K.

The conspiracy also involved the radicalisation of local youth and the mobilisation of OGWs to carry out violent and disruptive activities in J&amp;K.&nbsp;

NIA raids eight residences in Jammu & Kashmir, mostly of hybrid terrorists, OGWs

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), on Wednesday (Sept 27), detained several people after a multi-state crackdown on the nexus between terrorists, gangsters and drug smugglers at 53 locations across six states in India.

In these raids, other than Arsh Dalla, the gangsters that were under the NIA scanner were Lawrence Bishnoi, Sukha Duneke, Harry Maur, Narender alias Lali, Kala Jatheri, and Deepak Tinu. &nbsp;&nbsp;

The NIA seized pistols, ammunition, large numbers of digital devices and incriminating materials during the raids that spanned across six states of Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and the Union Territory of Chandigarh, said reports of news agency ANI.&nbsp;

Some of the locations where raids were conducted included Amritsar, Moga, Fazilka, Ludhiana, Mohali, Faridkot, Barnala, Bhatinda, Ferozpur, SAS Nagar, Amritsar, and Jalandhar districts of Punjab; Rohtak, Sirsa, Fatehabad and Faridabad districts of Haryana; Sri Ganga Nagar, Jhunjhunu, Hanumangarh and Jodhpur districts of Rajasthan; Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh; Dehradun and Udhamsingh Nagar districts of Uttarakhand; besides South-east district of Delhi and NCR and Union Territory of Chandigarh.

This is the seventh in the series of such crackdowns launched by the NIA amid strained diplomatic ties between Ottawa and New Delhi over the death of Khalistan terror organisation leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

<h2>Conspiracies hatched in jails</h2>

The NIA released a statement saying that the raids that were conducted on Wednesday, were aimed at dismantling the terror-gangster-drug smuggler nexus.&nbsp;

"These gangs are working with drug smugglers and terrorists based out of other countries, including Pakistan, UAE, Canada and Portugal."

It further said that its probes into the matter revealed that the conspiracies of targeted killings, and terror funding activities of pro-Khalistan outfits, were being hatched in prisons of different states and were being executed by an organised network of operatives based abroad.

Among such conspiracies, were the killing of Maharashtra builder Sanjay Biyani, mining trader Mehal Singh and international Kabaddi player Sandeep Nangal Ambia in Punjab last year, the anti-terror agency stated.

"Many of the criminals and gangsters, who were earlier leading gangs in the country, have fled abroad in recent years and are now carrying out their terror and violence-related activities from there," the NIA stated

"These criminals have been engaged in planning and commissioning serious crimes, including contract and revenge killings, in association with criminals lodged in jails across India. These groups have been carrying out targeted killings and raising funds for attacks and other nefarious activities through smuggling of drugs and weapons, hawala and extortions," the agency added.

NIA detains several suspects, seizes weapons and ammunition in raids across 53 locations

The <a href="National Investigation Agency">National Investigation Agency (NIA)</a> Thursday carried out searches at eight places in western Uttar Pradesh and Punjab in connection with its probe against an ISIS-inspired group, which was allegedly planning suicide attacks and serial blasts, targeting politicians and government installations, in Delhi and other parts of north India.

The agency has arrested 12 people in this connection since December 26 last year.

The fresh raids come five days after the NIA&nbsp;arrested Muhammad Absar (24) from Hapur on January 12.

The NIA said that searches were being conducted based on inputs from an interrogation of the people arrested for allegedly being part of 'Harkat ul Harb e Islam' module of the global terrorist group ISIS.

The agency had earlier said it had seized a locally made rocket launcher, material for suicide vests and 112 alarm clocks to be used as timers besides recovering 25 kg of explosive material -- Potassium Nitrate, Ammonium Nitrate and Sulphur.&nbsp;

The group had allegedly purchased remote-controlled cars and wireless doorbells to use their circuits in assembling remote-controlled improvised explosive devices.

Besides, the NIA had also seized steel containers, electric wires, 91 mobile phones, 134 SIM cards, 3 laptops, knife, sword, ISIS-related literature during the searches conducted earlier.
