According to astronomer Dr Teddy Kareta,&nbsp;“For folks down below the equator, the coming weeks and months might be their first good chance to see this thing since the 1950s.”

Boeing's Starliner spacecraft was supposed to blast&nbsp;off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida with two NASA astronauts on board. Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams would travel to the&nbsp;International Space Station in the key test flight.

The astronauts were given a safe exit from the spacecraft following the delay of the launch.

The previous launch of the spacecraft was scheduled for May 6 but it was delayed with two hours left in the countdown.

NASA, in a note titled "Planet Parade," addressed these misconceptions. "Some online sources have shared excitement about a 'parade of planets' visible in the morning sky in early June (June 3 in particular)," NASA stated. "In reality, only two of the six planets supposedly on display (Saturn and Mars) will actually be visible."

"The closest thing to a planet parade will be June 29, when Saturn, the Moon, Mars, and Jupiter will line up across the morning sky. This arrangement persists into July, and we'll talk more about that lineup," NASA added.

<h2>Plenty of other celestial event</h2>

While the anticipated six-planet alignment won't occur, there are still plenty of exciting celestial events to look forward to in June.

Saturn and Mars will be visible in the early morning hours throughout the month, and they will be joined by Jupiter later in June.

On June 2, just before sunrise, Mars will be visible just beneath the crescent Moon, with Saturn nearby. The crescent Moon will sit beneath Mars in the morning twilight on June 3.

NASA debunks reports of ‘planetary parade’, gives list of celestial events for June

Japan has lost contact with humanity's only active probe on the planet Venus, called Akatsuki or 'Dawn'.&nbsp;

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) mission account for Akatsuki on Wednesday (May 29) took to X to announce that the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS) lost contact with the spacecraft after an operation in late April.&nbsp;

ISAS "lost contact with Akatsuki after an operation in late April due to an extended period of low attitude stability control mode, and is currently making efforts to reestablish communication with the spacecraft," it said.

NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) may have found the answer to why some planets swell at staggering amounts in the presence of a star, a mystery that puzzled scientists when recently they spotted a puffy exoplanet, WASP-107 b.&nbsp;

A surprisingly low reservoir of methane in a planet might unravel the mystery of a planet growing weirdly puffy near a star. The observations made by JWST show that planetary atmospheres can inflate immensely, which defies some of the existing planet formation theories.&nbsp;

"The Webb data tells us that planets like WASP-107 b didn't have to form in some odd way with a super small core and a huge gassy envelope," explains Michael Line, an extrasolar planetologist at Arizona State University.

WASP-107 b was discovered in 2017 by the Wide Angle Search for Planets (WASP) consortium, roughly 200 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Virgo. It was found to be the lightest of known exoplanets.&nbsp;

Despite being as large as Jupiter, WASP-107 b weighs just 12 per cent of the planet's mass, which is equivalent to only 30 Earths. For context, one Jupiter mass is equal to about 318 Earth masses. This planet is so puffy, the team says, that its density can be compared to a microwaved marshmallow.

The study was conducted on the basis of data from JWST and previous observations from the Hubble Space Telescope- divided among two independent teams.&nbsp;

In a nutshell, the teams discovered that methane in the planet’s atmosphere is 1,000th of what would be expected for the world. As methane is unstable at high temperatures, researchers say the astonishingly low amount of it is evidence that the gas from deep within the planet is “mixing vigorously with cooler layers higher up,” says David Sing of John Hopkins University (JHU) in Maryland, who led one of the two studies.

"The fact that we detected so little, even though we did detect other carbon-bearing molecules, tells us that the interior of the planet must be significantly hotter than we thought."

One thing that could explain this extra heat is the fact that WASP-107 b zips around its star every 5.7 days in an orbit that is not a perfect circle, the researchers say. The star's constant gravitational pull on WASP-107 b, whose distance from its star keeps varying throughout, stretches and contracts the planet’s profile, thereby heating it up. On Earth, a similar force by the moon causes high and low tides.

Generally, these stars are found surrounded by a cloud of gas and dust, out of which they are formed. HP Tau emits different amounts of light at various time stamps, however, this star generally faces regular and random fluctuations. Scientists are still trying to understand random variations but it is possible that the stars are young which may be triggering slightly chaotic processes. Muneeb Amin Bhat, a 22-year-old cybersecurity researcher, earned the&nbsp;reward along with making it to Apple's Hall of Fame' in 2023 as well after reporting vulnerabilities in their&nbsp;system.&nbsp;

Hailing from Zungalpora village in South Kashmir’s Kulgam, Muneeb reported his findings under NASA’s Vulnerability Disclosure Program (VDP), which facilitates the US agency’s awareness of otherwise unknown vulnerabilities. As Muneeb is bound by the VDP Guidelines, he cannot disclose the specifics of the external vulnerabilities in the NASA System. Although, he says it did involve sensitive&nbsp;data exposure.&nbsp;

''I was included&nbsp;in the 'Hall of Fame'&nbsp;by Apple in 2023.&nbsp;They had given me permission to ethically hack their&nbsp;systems to check the vulnerabilities and report it to them and they validated it later and acknowledged it and later added my name into the 'Hall of Fame'. Recently&nbsp;I had done the same for NASA, and I found some vulnerabilities and I reported them. In the same way, it was acknowledged by NASA and they later included me in the Hall of Fame. Comparing TOI-6713.01 to Jupiter's volcanic moon, Io, Kane described it as "Io on steroids" because of its constant volcanic eruptions. The planet's surface appears glowing and red-hot due to the volcanic activities.&nbsp;

"It's been forced into a situation where it's constantly exploding with volcanoes. At optical wavelengths you would be able to see a glowing, red-hot planet with a molten lava surface," Kane added.&nbsp;

<h2>Data gathered by&nbsp;TESS</h2>

The discovery of TOI-6713.01 was made possible through data gathered by NASA's Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). It studied the planet's host star HD 104067. While this star was previously known to host one giant planet and a rocky world, the study revealed the existence of another rocky planet in its orbit.

Elon Musk, a gifted visionary, billionaire and often a controversial figure, believes aliens have never visited our planet Earth.

Addressing the perennial question at a panel titled "How to save the human race and other light topics" at the 2024 Milken Institute Global Conference held in Los Angeles on Tuesday (May 7), Musk, however, said if humanity was to send probes into the universe, we would surely find "remains of long-dead alien civilisations."&nbsp;

The SpaceX founder, whose company operates the Starlink satellite constellation consisting of approximately 6,000 units, said that his company has never come across unidentified flying objects that could suggest alien presence.&nbsp;

"I've not seen any evidence of aliens," said Musk, as quoted by space.com.&nbsp;

"And SpaceX, with the Starlink constellation, has roughly 6,000 satellites, and not once have we had to manoeuvre around a UFO… Never. So I'm like, okay, I don't see any evidence of aliens," he reasoned.

He said that this lack of evidence leads him to believe that if such advanced alien civilisations existed, they would have made their presence known more concretely.

However, he said he is open to concrete proof about visitations by the so-called little green men.

"If somebody has evidence of aliens, you know, that's not just a fuzzy blob, then I'd love to see it, love to hear about it," he said, adding&nbsp;"But I don't think there is."

Mulling over what this means for the future of humanity, Musk suggested that the absence of contact with alien civilisations might indicate that advanced societies are both "precarious and rare".&nbsp;

He said that if there are aliens out there and an alien species has managed to survive for a million years or so, it should've been able to settle in the entire Milky Way galaxy.

"So, they haven't, so why not?" he asked before speculating a probable answer.

"We should do everything possible to ensure that the candle does not go out," he stressed.

As per Space.com, Japanese lunar exploration firm ispace is working to put human presence into space and on the moon. In collaboration with UNESCO, the company is planning to send to the lunar surface an important part of humanity: 275 languages and other cultural artefacts.

Similar to the time capsules many of us remember preserving our memories in, the two organisations will send the languages and artefacts to the moon aboard ispace's upcoming Hakuto-R Mission 2.

"UNESCO is committed to preserving the linguistic diversity that represents human cultures from any crisis that threatens their destruction in the future, and preservation on the lunar surface is one means to preserve cultures," says ispace in a release posted on its website.&nbsp;

To fulfil this mission, the memory disk will contain the UNESCO Constitution's Preamble, which expresses "the importance of preserving world unity, linguistic diversity, and cultures". This preamble will be translated into 275 languages.
